Chanel Joues Contraste - Powder Blush | 430 Foschia Rosa

This was my first “luxury” beauty purchase, which was an easy choice for me because I love Chanel as a brand and I LOVE blush. First and foremost- the blush comes in a velvet Chanel pouch, wIth the classic sleek, black Chanel packaging- heavy in hands, as it should be for the price tag. I like this formula because it’s very BUILDABLE and blends seamlessly on the skin. It’s a very thin powder and is very soft and smooth, and it’s not cakey or “thick” on the skin- it’s totally undectable, which is perfect for my dry skin#. Also, it’s important to note it does have a soft scent to it- a lovely, non-offensive “perfumey” smell, but a lot of people don’t care for scents in their products, but I find that MOST luxury products are scented, and that’s part of the whole luxury tag experience. I would NOT call this a pigmented blush- Chanel’s beauty perspective is more “understated beauty”- like I said it’s BUILDABLE- it creates a beautiful, natural “blushing from within” blush. But once again, I believe that’s what they INTENDED for this product so you need to be sure of the product’s claims before you criticize it for things it never claimed! With that being said- I wouldn’t be intimidated by any shade in the range, but if you think it might be too light for your skin tone that’s definitely a possibility because of the sheerness of this powder. I highly recommend swatching these blushes on your skin before purchasing- I thought I wanted certain shades online, but when I went up to the counter and swatched the colors I felt differently and ended up going for a different shade in the range that was totally not on my radar! I think it’s important to see the product in person, and to touch it and swatch the shade with a luxury tag price REGARDLESS- I find shades are not always accurate online, so before you invest make sure you get a good look at the whole range because this isn’t a blush that most people can pick up multiple shades of! With all that being said, Chanel’s blush hits (and exceeds) all the “mandatories” when it comes to a luxury price tag, so I would highly recommend to anyone looking to make their first purchase from the Chanel Beauty range.

Chanel beauty has some amazing products. This powder blush was OK. The packaging is amazing, you get a small compact that has a mirror and a small brush (the quality of the brush was terrible to be honest). The color of this blush is really pretty, it's not that pigmented (won't leave you looking like a Rudolph the reindeer). In my opinion there are much better and cheaper options to get! There’s nothing more luxurious than Chanel makeup! I’m a huge fan of their blush, and have been for years. When I was in my college years I worked in a department store cosmetics department and used to save up just to buy Chanel Blushes to add to my collection. There’s just something special about the classic Chanel compact and the product inside is just as nice! The blush I have pictured is discontinued I believe, it’s #44 Narcisse, which is a cool toned, light satin pink. I also own Rose Bronze, Nude and several more but those are my top faves! This blush is worth the price tag in my opinion, it’s so smooth and the colors are so well curated. The product seems to last a long time, too! Overall, highly recommend!

I love Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Brush. Love the quality of the product, it doesn’t break easily, and with good pigmentation. The 55 In Love shade is easy to match any outfits or occasions. It has slight shimmers to make your face looks brighter. The powder itself not irritates my skin. The small brush is good in case you need it while traveling, normally I use my own big brush. I think it’s a good investment 😀, I recommend the product.

I absolutely love this blush. The color is perfection and the wear is excellent. I have medium to light skin tone and green eyes. I can wear this blush all day without needing a touch up. The color is a very natural rose giving a natural flush look. It is not a bold shade, but perfect for daytime. It can be brushed on lightly with only a powder base, or built up more for a more sculpted look. Simply perfect for a must have.

For $45 and from Chanel, I have high expectations. Unfortunately, this was the worst blush I've ever tried. Even in a sufficiently deep rose tone on my light-medium skin, I couldn't get even a hint of this to show on my face. I kept trying to add more, and every time I'd take my soft sigma blush brush and try to pick up some product, it acted like the opposite end of a magnet: the blush would crumble and fall out of the compact, ending up everywhere BUT the brush (and the other brushes I tried, just to see). The pigmentation is close to non-existent. I expected a light, natural flush (compared to super pigmented liquid blushes) but it added absolutely nothing to my coloration. Very disappointing from a brand I love.

Changed formula!

I have been using chanel joues contraste blusher in 71 malace for years, always looked fresh luminous and buildable. The texture was amazing you could work with it really well and was perfectly happy to continue with this product, however unbeknown to me chanel has changed this formula and unfortunately NOT for the better!.On opening my compact a change was not noticeable until I applied it! Where to start, instead of a luminous finish this is now flat, dull is not bendable at all and applied is Darker than the original beautiful blush.This is so terrible that I can not wear it.This is not the first time this company " Chanel" has done this to me, they changed their bronzing base for some reason and as I wore as a primer it made my foundation slip terribly! ... MoreI have been using chanel joues contraste blusher in 71 malace for years, always looked fresh luminous and buildable. Elegant blush

I am surprised by the negative reviews since I have tried all kinds of high-end brands, and I keep coming back to Chanel. I have the newly released Ombre, which is a gorgeous pinky-brown nude type of mat shade. I heard people saying it is too mat and flat, but I would disagree. It looks very natural on the skin, and it does not call attention. It is a great blush for everyday looks that won't interfere with any lip color. I also have the Rose Ecrin, and that is more of a peachy pink, which again is very understated, but you can build up. I don't see much difference between the old and new formulation, but that is my two cents. I have very smooth, clear skin for reference, so I don't have issues with textures. If you are the kind of woman that wears make-up to enhance her natural beauty rather than use it as camouflage, then Chanel does not disappoint. Lovely, classic packaging, great selection of colors, and considering fairly reasonably priced if I compare it to Sisley, another favorite line. I laughed at the review of someone comparing Chanel packaging to anything sold at Target or Walmart. That is a joke and a display of not knowing what simple, elegant design means.

In love

I walked around Ulta for an hour trying to find a new blush since my Marc Jacobs broke and I was close to giving up. The Ulta rep asked if I needed help and she recommended this blush. Omg how did I not know about this sooner. I use Chanel skincare and foundations and they are staples. This blush is now a staple of mine as well. It's actually fun to put it on. It's hard to explain. It goes on like butter. It's so smooth. Stays on all day unlike the Laura Miercer that the powder is so loose, when you put it on it practically falls off your cheeks. I am obsessed with this Chanel blush. I highly recommend.

THE BEST BLUSH!

I absolutely love this blush! It gives the most natural sun-kissed finish and blends beautifully. I use the shade 260 which doesn't seem to be available at Ulta but I buy directly from CHANEL for their gorgeous packaging. It's the most beautiful shade! I was skeptical at first because it looked a bit dark but it looks amazing on my fair skin! It has flecks of gold shimmer that look beautiful in natural lighting!! It smells of roses and feels so luxurious! I use in conjunction with the CHANEL CC cream, loose powder, and bronzer. What can I say, once you go CHANEL you never go back! Please give this a try! It's absolutely stunning!
