I don't wear eye pencil, but was intrigued with the subtleness of this product. It was as I thought, subtle. I purchased in the LUMINERE AND THE BRUN (for a darker effect
I applied the pencil first before eye shadow and found that if I applied again when my eyes were finished it just gave my eyes a bit more ompf
I have given this product 5 stars, as it was what I have been looking for but didn't realise it. It also goes on beautifully without dragging the eye lid and also stays on. It is also easy to remove.. Overall: Subtle sparkle/Easy to Apply

In order to justify the pricepoint of these eyeliners, I feel they have to perform above and beyond their competitors. Chanel has done very well in expanding their shade range to go beyond the same boring neutrals that every brand releases in an eyeliner range. Their less conventional colors have depth and radiant jewel tones. They don’t feel like some sort of garish afterthought. Most importantly, though, the performance of these pencils is truly exceptional. I have hooded eyelids and have been disappointed time and time again by supposed “longwear” eyeliners claiming yo be budge proof but leaving visible rings on the bottom of my browbone. These apply easily without tugging and then they do truly set down and stay put all day. No smudging or wearing off!

The is easily the best of the many liners I've tried, from drugstore brands, to Cle de Peau/La Mer/Lancome/etc. The line is always clean and smooth, no tugging. The built-in sharpener is so handy to have, too. The color sets perfectly in a few seconds, but there's enough time to smudge slightly if you want. My only gripe is that it should be refillable, like the Cle de Peau liner. There's so much waste for the little bit of pencil you get. But I reluctantly keep buying it, because I regret anytime I try something else.

Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof

I've used these pencil liners for years... probably decades. I recently purchased the 2 colors that I've consistently used the most (Ebene & Cassis). The Ebene pencil is fine, but the Cassis is dry and flakes both while putting it on and while wearing it during the day, to the point of causing eye irritation. Other reviews have mentioned that these pencils are dry and flake. I had not experienced it until now. I don't know if we're getting old product or if Chanel has done something new with the formulation. Whatever the case, it's unfortunate because this eyeliner pencil has been a mainstay for me in the past with it's ability to apply smoothly and evenly, as well as stay in place all day even with my watery eyes. How to prevent breakage
25 June 2024

This product has many good attributes, but it is expensive. And like all automatic pencils regardless of price, they break. To prevent that, do not twist up too much product. Keep the tip short. Hold the pencil horizontal to your eyelid and gently drag it across sideways. Never hold the pencil at right angles to your lid, and don't press down on it. If you follow this advice, your pencil will last longer.

The perfect formula
23 March 2024

The SA sold me the color Cassis. I went in to buy the brown(brun), but she thought the brun would make me look tired. I have green eyes and the Cassis is beautiful color. It is a soft black violet. It’s ver pretty! Eventually I will go buy the brown bc the formula is perfect. It’s soft to apply and then sets in 30 seconds and does not run or smudge. Also, I’ve had no problem removing it at night. I use a non oily eye makeup remover.

Used to love this...

I wore this in espresso for years. I also bought a marine years ago to go with different contacts. During Covid, they either changed their formula or something is happening to shipments. It won't go on my eyes. It's like putting a colorless wax pencil on my eyes - no color - doesn't adhere. For this price, if they changed their formula, that is not right. I returned one to another department store, but lost money on two others that were unusable. This was the only local eyeliner I liked. It didn't irritate my eyes and stayed on all day. No smudging, beautiful color. I want a dark green color and have been reading bad reviews on other brands. I'm tempted to see if the green in Chanel goes on better. If not, I will return. If you changed your formula, please bring back the old one. If this green does not work out, I won't buy this again and I will return. Once upon a time it was the best and worth every penney.

Waterline liner
10 December 2023

This eyeliner lasts on my waterline surprisingly. My eyes are sensitive and get really watery at times and i can say that this stays. I do have to reapply at least once theought the day but it works. It is pricey but i recomment trying you can always return it! Ive tried the urban decay liner and it went on very smooth but did not last at all for me and bothered my eyes. Im also a fan of the makeup forever xl pencil that one is less pricey

Worse than drugstore discount bin
14 August 2024

Chanel makeup products have never disappointed me before
until now. This eyeliner is mechanical (which usually means a softer formula that glides on with less effort) - but here, the application is impossible. There is simply not enough pigmentation (or too much wax in the composition?) to get any noticeable amount of color out. I’ve tried holding the pencil under a low blow dryer heat source to soften it to no avail. Wet ‘n’wild is better quality than this liner.I bought the bleu metal hue hoping it would be a nice contrast for my green eyes - nope! I am literally keeping this eyeliner solely as a reminder to never order it again.

it ran out within a month
13 February 2024

I actually love it. It glides on smoothly, long lasting on eyes, doesn’t smudge and love it comes with a little sharpener to keep the crayon pointy down it is best for tight lining. But it ran out within a month while I used it almost everyday. Maybe I had sharpened it too frequently because I always like tight lining. It made it an expensive option. I will look for an alternative.
