Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Palette - Fire Rose

This is a really nice little palette. Much like the pillow talk lipstick, the palette is pinky-brown rather than straight up pink. It will give you a neutral look that has a pink tone to it. It has two mattes and two shimmers. The shimmers are absolutely to die for and look gorgeous on. They definitely make you feel like you have a bit of luxury on. The packaging is really nice and.elegany and I love how compact they are, making it easy to travel with you. You have all the shades you need for one look, and actually you can change it up a bit by using different combinations. Once again, another success from Charlotte Tilbury.

An expensive disappointment

I purchased Pillow Talk on sale. At full price I would have returned. The case is just cheap plastic - a $74 CAD eyeshadow quad should be housed in a quality case (hello Pat McGrath). Color's pull warm on me but not so much so that they're unflattering. The primer and two mattes blend really well but the "pop" color is a joke. Flakey glitter that falls off the eye lid and all over the face. What glitter manages to adhere to the eye lid is barely visible and provides zero "pop" effect. The primer/ matte pigment is strong when first applied but fades quickly, much quicker then a quad in this price range should. My Morphe shadow pallet costs half as much, lasts twice as long and provides dozens of colors to work with. What you're paying for is the Tilbury brand, not a ... MoreI purchased Pillow Talk on sale. Favourite CT eye palette

I'm going to precede this by apologising for my long review, and by stating that I have a slight make up addiction, so I feel this background info is necessary to do this palette justice! When I discover a range I like, I tend to buy every item in that range possible, which is how I have ended up with a boxful of the mini CT eye palettes. Unfortunately, after my obsession moved on to better (and of course, unfortunately more expensive) things *cough*Natasha Denona*cough* I realised that the majority of the CT eye palettes, despite their various themes, are quite samey with very little difference between the shades used - you could sit there looking at several next to each other and struggle to tell which was which! The Luxury Palette of Pearls was my last purchase in this range, and it certainly ended my collection on a high note! I think I only once attempted to use this in the standard 'prime/enhance/smoke/pop' format each of the mini eye palettes follow, because the shades are beautiful enough used individually, actually, I personally think they are far better used individually than in conjunction with each other! I love the pink in particular, it's my go to when I have only a few minutes to put my face on, and the pale gold - the 4th, or 'pop' shade - is lovely as a delicate topper for deeper or matte colours, or used as an inner corner or brow highlighter. I have medium, olive toned skin and it's sometimes difficult to achieve the same level of colour saturation and/or fidelity as my paler or darker skinned friends, without shades appearing either chalky or barely there, but there's absolutely no problem at all with any of the shades in this palette! They glide on and blend as effortlessly with a brush or a fingertip appearing as perfect as if I'd spent ages prepping, priming and blending when it's taken no time at all! I truly do love this little palette, I'm so glad I decided to get it despite my disappointment with the others. I actually invited some friends over recently specifically to get rid of some of my unused or barely touched makeup and handed them the box containing my mini CT eye palettes (I still enjoy the larger palettes in the CT range) and encouraged them to take what they wanted, unfortunately I didn't manage to get rid of nearly as many as I had hoped! Unsurprisingly, they really wanted the eyeshadow I happened to be wearing that day - my favourite shell pink shade from the Palette of Pearls, which I had made sure to remove and tuck away safely before I let them loose on the free makeup! I'm actually tempted to buy another one of these because I'll truly miss it when I run out, I've yet to find such a beautifully iridescent pearl eyeshadow formulation in these colours elsewhere, so if you're considering this palette, get it, I really don't think you'll be disappointed!

Love it a go to pick me up

Love this easy palette to use beautiful unique colors. I already have similar plain pillow talk colors so I decided to buy this one for unique slightly more intense colors and shimmer. I’m not afraid of shimmer during the day . This set of colors works for any eyes color and any skin tone I’m neutral skin fair w green hazel eyes w four colors in my eyes so generally color eyeshadows while fun to use look absurd w my rainbow hazel eyes. I love the look and consistency of it, it’s much lighter than shown. I’m thinking of buying the brown pencil to match it. I only wear on crazy days or special occasions. Would love the brown eye pencil. I use her sample mascara and it doesn’t smear. I’d buy more of her products if I could afford it. Pillow Talk Dreams Palette is the Worst Quality

Received the Pillow Talk Dreams as a birthday gift, and just for clarity, I didn’t ask for this. I’ve tried Exaggereyes palette and the all matte palette. Neither are bad but the all matte is not really worth the money. The Pillow Talk Dreams Palette is so so bad I’m going to need to return it. Unfortunately, it’s got colors I hate, but my real problem with it is the quality. The pop shade is very powdery which is bad and causes glitter to fall on your face and different from the pop shade I tried in the Exaggereyes palette. The prime shade is also very powdery; though it looks really pretty first applied (only on a sticky base I’ll add) it will fade very quickly. The matte shades don’t even apply or build and blend right off the eye to creat a messy patchy unattractive look (also the shimmer shade blends right off the eye so no blending with it on, and if you put it over a powdery base it will be muted); the top right lighter matte is worse than the dark brown matte (never had this problem with any shadows I’ve tried). The Exaggereyes is far better than this Pillow Talk Dreams, but it’s not long lasting because of creasing (I’m not a big fan of eye primer). I don’t think eye primer will help with the problems I just had with this Pillow Talk Dreams palette though it could make the Exaggereyes great. Because I know that the quality in these palettes vary, I’d still be interested to try the Golden Goddess, Bella Sophia, and the original Pillow Talk palette, but it’s discouraging to know it’s a 50/50 chance it will be poor quality. Pictures are in bathroom lighting and natural lighting; “prime” shade on the lid, “enhance” in the crease, “super pop” topped on the lid, and the “smoke” shade on the lash line with the black shade from MAC’s semi-sweet times 9 palette. Only 20 minutes of wear. I’ll admit I might’ve been kinder to the quality if I didn’t hate the colors so much.

So versatile

Absolutely love this eye palette. I use it in so many different ways. The lightest shade works great as a highlighter and all four combine to create the most gorgeous eyeshadow for evening wear. I particularly like the sparkle one. With a very small fine brush, I’ve achieved quite a decent contour finish too, using the darkest and lightest shade. I’d be lost without this. Only didn’t give five stars as one of the powders went a little shiny and hard after only a couple uses. I’ll definitely be buying again.

Too expensive for very little pigment

I really liked the color story (neutral to warm) but for the price, i expect a lot more pigment. Pillow Talk barely showed up on my very fair skin. The pale pink and brown looked too similar to each other once applied. I wouldn't repurchase this. If you are looking for something similar, i would recommend ColourPop 11:11 (cool to neutral). It gave me the look i was hoping for from Charlotte Tilbury, but for a fraction of the cost and more varied looks. For a high end option, try Natasha Denona glam face palette in the lightest shade. I won't say that either is a dupe for CT, but i liked both a lot better.
