Enjoyable to knit/crochet with Cleckheaton Country. Great range of colours. Very reasonably priced. Garments spring back into shape after washing when following recommended washing instructions.

Lovely yarn and fast postage. One thing to watch though is when doing online orders ,Spotlight don’t send the same dyelot for all of the yarn. This can be a problem as no 2 dyelots are exactly the same. I won’t buy yarn online from Spotlight again if I’m knitting from the one shade.

I was sent 4 different dye lots of this wool. I was told that for online purchases you were not guaranteed the same dye lot. I returned the wool and was left out of pocket as I had paid for postage of the wool
I ordered 15 balls of Cleckheaton Country 8 ply green to knit a jumper. Unfortunately the wool arrived with 2 different dye lot numbers so were useless!!! You need the one dye lot to knit a garment.
I am using it on a set of 12mm in the round needles to knit up a lap blanket. 6 balls in total, 3 colours. Excellent price - half the cost of Spotlight. Great for beginners like me who are dropping a few stitches as I learn. Delivered from Toowoomba to Brisbane in 2 days. Thanks Hanna’s.
This is one of my favourite "go to" wools to use. It's soft and squishy but the knitted stitches are well defined and keep their shape when knitted up. The lovely flecks of colour add interest to your knitted garments. Cleckheaton Country Naturals offers a wide range of colours.
I bought 12 rolls of this yarn in colour Lolly. I've worked through 4 balls so far and continue to come across tears and joins in the yarn at least once per ball.
I love the colour range in the Country 8-ply, and the fact that it is 100% pure new wool. I am enjoying knitting this wool, but given the recommendation for it to be knitted on 3.25 / 4mm needles I am finding the finished product rather dense. The tension is okay, and this garment is to be gifted, but I will give it a wash in wool wash before giving it, hoping it will soften up a little. Care needs to be taken not to split the wool, as it is very obvious when it does occur, and I have needed to knit back a couple of times to rectify this. None of the above would stop me using this brand, and in fact I have another couple of garments already planned for Cleckheaton Country 8ply wool. As always these things are very personal and vary from one knitter to another, which is what makes hand knitting so special.
My order was delivered efficiently and quickly. The correct wool was delivered however when filling an order for wool I received balls of wool which had two different dye lots. You should ensure that it is all one dye lot not two different dye lots as this may affect the finished garment’s colour consistency.
