This is going to be quite a long review so if you get to the end well done and thank you for reading it! When I went to the Clinique counter I had it in my mind that I would choose the 24hr moisturising jelly and the pink cartridge to reactive skin. Some combinations are available only on their website which is irritating as you can’t sample them. I have dry, hypersensitive skin and I was recommended to use this combination. I’ve been using it now for over 6 weeks so I’m in a position to write a detailed review on it. Firstly it is hard to get the active ingredient to dispense. I was told when I bought it it would take around 5 pumps before it started working properly. It took a quarter of the bottle of moisturiser before it dispensed both products. Clinique said it shouldn’t take this long so they sent me out a replacement. It doesn’t irritate my skin and the active ingredient has reduced the redness on my skin slightly but it hasn’t done enough for me to say this product really works. Also the reduction in redness could be because I’ve stopped using fragranced products rather than the active ingredient making a difference. It’s nice but it’s not amazing. It’s not greasy or heavy. I still need to apply a face oil as my skin is dry and I don’t think this provides enough hydration on its own. Also there is no way the active ingredient and the moisturiser are going to run out at the same time. This is irritating as you can’t buy cartridges or moisturisers separately you have to buy them together. Taking everything into consideration. It’s a nice product but due to the amount you have to waste to get it to dispense properly and you can’t buy the items separately makes it a very pricey product. The price isn’t worth it. Week 6 of using it and I’m under half a bottle plus it has done absolutely nothing on my irritated eczema patches. This is why I’ve only given it 3 stars. It’s a great concept but isn’t effective enough and the dispenser needs improving before I can rate it any higher.

I have been using this moisturiser twice a day for 3 days now and have had to discontinue use because of irritation from it (ironic I know) but first here’s a product overview.I really liked the concept behind this product, theDramatically different moisturiser line contains next to no beneficial skin ingredients and is very dated, changing little since it was originally released nearly 60 years ago. Covering wrinkles, pores and texture to name a few what ever skin issue you have Clinique seem to have something for you. With myself having dryer skin that's prone to irritation and sensitivity, I chose the moisturising lotion+ with the green cartridge specifically designed to treat this irritation and thought it would be the perfect match for me!This product claims to be "lightweight, easily absorbed into the skin and leave no residue".. the reality is the complete opposite. initially it appeared to be quite hydrating and emollient, which I really enjoy! But as I began applying the cream it strangely started to lather up like a cleanser? I've never experienced this with a moisturiser before! If that wasn’t bad enough it then just sat on top of my skin! (and not in a nice way) after a fair amount of time it did manage to sink into my skin a little but left behind a tacky feeling.Cliniques moisturising lotion claims to Deliver "rich, all day hydration" which I'm sorry to say it doesn't hold up. It provided me with a little hydration for a short amount of time but not long after my face was left feeling tight and like I needed to re apply more. Considering this product is aimed at people with very dry skin I don’t think it would provide no where near enough hydration.Another off putting quality of this product for me is its scent? I'm very happy that this product is 100% fragrance free. I'm completely behind no fragrance in skincare because it literally serves no other purpose than to cause irritation. But with that being said why on earth does it smell so bad?? it might just be me but the only way I can describe it is the smell of stale cigarette smoke. So weird. I have plenty of unscented skin products and none of them have a discernible scent so I don’t understand why this smells this way. Finally this product claims to sooth irritation, redness and blotchiness but it did the complete opposite for me and actually caused this! From around the second use I noticed my face becoming irritated and red and this got worse with each application, I also started to get a few blotchy rashes and breakouts. Over all my skin really did not like this product and now as I type this nearly a week later my skin is still not completely back to normal. I'm at a loss to what has actually caused this? The ingredients in the active cartridge don’t seem to be problematic? The only thing maybe was the mineral oil or petrolatum in the lotion had blocked my pores, or maybe the yellow #5 yellow #6 and red #33 colour additives caused the problem? If any one has any ideas please let me know!Iuldn't recommend this product at all, I haven't tested all of the dramatically different moisturiser textures and cartridges but I cant imagine them being any better. Over all your paying quite a lot of money for very little skin benefits and your money would be better spent else where!

I have acne and this works for me
26 January 2022

Pros - I have cystic acne and this is one of the only "affordable" moisturizers that will not cause/worsen a painful breakout. It does make my skin feel moisturized without feeling greasy. Actually soaks into the skin.Cons- this is a VERY basic moisturizer. I have been using this stuff for most of my life (my mother started me on this as a teenager) and I can tell you with confidence that it does not do what it says it will for your skin tone. Yes, it's moisturizes. No, it will not help an uneven skin tone nor will it "repair your skins moisture barrier. If I skip a day, my skin is just as dry as it would had I never used moisturizer at all.So to conclude, I really like this as a moisturizer, however it will not fix/help an uneven skin tone.

IN LOVE

I love this moisturizer. I was using the gel version because I was living in a very humid weather, but then a moved to Perth that is very dry and felt that it was not enought. I was scared that it would be to thick, but it feels so good! It's very moisturizing but my skin absorbs it really quickly. If it helps, my skin is just normal, sometimes on the dry side but no dry patches and it's kind of sensitive also.

I have been searching for a moisturizer alternative to the heavy creams I've been using to be kinder to my skin. I took the Sephora quiz and this was one of the suggestions. I have combination skin; around my nose and around my eyes tend to be the driest areas that needs the moisture.I purchased the hydrating jelly with the blue cartridge (for pores and uneven texture) because I really don't have any skin issues other than the dryness so I thought I would try that one. I do love the feel of the jelly; I love that it's very lightweight and it absorbs almost instantly. I just don't find it to be all that moisturizing for me. Maybe because it's winter (I live in the Midwest) and I need something heavier. Maybe because it's winter (I live in the Midwest) and I need something heavier. It made my skin feel very soft, which is great, but I don't really see where it's made any difference at all in either hydration level or my pores / texture.I'm going to stick with this and see how I feel about it in the spring / summer, though I don't expect to see much improvement in my pores / texture. Maybe it will be more moisturizing, but that's about it.In order to give myself the boost of hydration I need, I have been using belief Hungarian Water Essence before applying this and it's made a big difference. I'll use both until the weather gets warmer, then try the jelly on its own.Since it didn't cause my skin to get worse or make me breakout, I hate to return it without giving it a proper chance. Perhaps this just isn't a good moisturizer to be used in the winter, which is what I'm hoping, because I really wanted to love this.

Pump doesnt work, cant dispense serum.
27 April 2022

The pump doesnt work. Buy 3 different cartridges and the serum dispenser got clogged after a few days, only dispensing the moisturizer but not the serum. It happened with the orange antifatigue cartridge and also with the uneven tone cartridge. The hole for the serum gets clogged after a few days. Save your money and buy only the moisturizer, not the id set. I contacted clinique.com and they haven’t send me a replacement. I read reviews on their website and a lot of customers complained about the pump design. I love clinique products, but this one fails awfully.

Such good value for money & really makes a difference!
3 August 2022

The first bottle I bought of this, was purely due to the price per ml which is extremely good value - what made me stick to this and buy again - was the difference it made to my skin! I have extremely dry, sensitive, eczema breakout-prone skin, and was shocked that such a lightweight feeling formula could hydrate my skin. Not only is it hydrating but it really feels like it locks in moisture for hours which is essential during NZ winters! I was struggling with dry scaly skin on my face, and I am not exaggerating when I say by the very next day my skin was plump and smooth! I definitely apply a couple layers for my extremely dry skin, and ideally I'd layer another product for even more hydration but at times this is all I can afford and it is worth every cent. Take your time finding your perfect combination

Starting with the Hydrating Jelly (ie. the base), it’s an extremely lightweight, oil-free, water jelly that’s meant to deliver 24-hours of hydration and pollution protection. I can attest to the texture as it absorbs quickly and isn’t sticky. In terms of hydration, I use this as a hydration booster as it’s not enough solo. I usually use this on top of another moisturizer as it dries down nicely and plays well with makeup.Moving to the Fatigue cartridge, it’s meant to energize and revive glow. I think it’s because of my base, as it’s not hydrating enough to use as my stand-alone moisturizer. Which leads me to say this is a nice-to-have but not a must-have for me. If you’re looking for the customizable benefits, I’d give this a try and do your research on what base will work best for you. If you get your iD right, I think it’s a pretty decent bang for your buck (ie. moisturizer + serum in one).

Why Does the Cartridge Not Last?
20 August 2019

I was so excited to try this Clinique ID Custom Blend, I bought it the minute it released. I bought the Moisturizing Lotion+ & the Fatigue Cartridge (the orange one). I use this combination every morning after I tone & before moisturizing. I love this product because not only does it brighten my skin it also plumps & fades my fine lines. I think I'm addicted to this product because if I don't use it I feel like I'm missing something. It's not a heavy face lotion but light feeling & absorbs quickly into the skin. As for right now I've only tried the orange cartridge but I want to try all of them.My only complaint with this product is the cartridge always runs out of product before the lotion is gone. Well mine does anyway. When I get down to having about 25% of the lotion left the cartridge is out of product. I'm on my second bottle & same exact thing happened, so now I know it's made like that. I really wish someone would have caught that in testing. Because this product is a holy grail & definitely a go to for me that's not a deal breaker. The effects of this product outweigh the on bad I've found. I will always continue to repurchase & I define recommend, especially if you need to moisturizer & brighten at the same time.
