Coleman Skydome 4-Person Camping Tent - Blue

I had this tent (or the previous iteration) and used it annually for almost 20 years until it finally gave in this past year due to broken poles and a big tear. It was super easy to set up and take down and kept out rain. It was spacious enough for 4 people, but I usually used it by myself or with one other person. I plan on replacing it this year with the same model and really hope it lasts.

6 PERSON SKYDOME

This tent was purchased to accompany my 4 person Skydome when I need more space. Absolutely Love It!! This 6 person Skydome tent boast all the bells and whistles of the Coleman Skydome Series. The color combo (I chose Blackberry to distinguish it from the Blue Nighhts 4 person)Its easy set up for a weekend get away, but large enough for an extended stay. Praise Coleman for their wonderful *bathtub* floor, I've NEVER gotten wet while camping...and I've done some wicked (hurricane) camping trips!Love it. Highly recommend it!

Breakdown is awful. There are much better options

Set up is easy. Break down stinks and forget about ever getting it back in the back it came in unless you have superman like muscles to squeeze every last bit of air out and compress it. I had to use Paracord to hold it together for transport home and spend $20 on a replacement bag for storage.

Excellent Tent for Summer!

I got this tent for mild weather and to use for picnics. I am very happy to have it! Not only is the color really nice and reminds me of nice fall weather camping, but I love the features of it. I like to use it on picnics to keep our food items in until we are ready to eat so the bugs stay off of it all. It's great to keep our coats and other things in. I love how it has a removable top cover. I really like the bottom design because if it does happen to rain on you at all, the chances of it coming in through the floor are slim unless it starts really flooding. The door zips all the time and helps keep bugs out. I am a bit claustrophobic, so this tent having straighter walls and more headroom is ideal. I love being able to look out of the top of it. Good Tent

The tent was used for a roughly 3 months during field season in northern SD (aug-oct). There was more than enough room for me and my dog as well as all my supplies. It was a dry summer but we did experience a few nasty rainstorms and the tent stayed dry inside and held up fairly well to the wind. In high winds the tent will fold in on itself. The rain fly ripped in one spot and one of the tent fiberglass poles split from high winds. The pole which holds the rain fly propt up like to pop out in the wind. The tent is almost all mesh and works very well in hot summer temps. I wouldn't use this in winter however I did spend multiple nights with temps in high 30s and stayed comfortable and warm. Great Tent for Weekend Camping

This tent is very easy to put up and take down thanks to the pre-attached hooks. However, the rain cover is a little more complicated and requires manual tie-down to the stakes. It took me about 10-minutes to get everything set up, rather than the 5-minutes claimed on the packaging. I really appreciate that the tent included all the needed stakes for securing it to the ground, so I didn't have to buy anything extra.Once set up, it has great airflow and a spacious interior that gives you plenty of height for sitting up and standing. I really like the pockets that have 4 separate holders for different people. The storage space at the top of the tent is great for putting food, or other items that you want to keep off the ground. This is a great tent for kids to camp in the backyard or in a park on the weekends.I'm a little concerned about the durability of the fabric over time. It is relatively thin - which is great to minimize weight and makes setup easy. However, it got caught in the zipper during setup and I think, over time, it would tear. Also, it was hard to get everything back into the bag. You must be very careful to fold things back up as compactly as possible to get it to zip up.

Great WARM Weather Tent

Fantastic tent, easy to set up and take down but only for WARM weather! the entire top and two sides are screen and you can not close it off so be prepared for wind to roar through because it does. While this is an outstanding tent, well made and easy to use, Coleman would do well to remember the tents of yesterday and give users the ability to close off screened areas. The only complaint is that Coleman rates this for 6-8 people. NO WAY! This tent is comfortable for 4 people with gear MAX.

Impressed

My VERY first time camping, I stayed in this tent overnight in a heavily forested area. It rained the ENTIRE time, loud enough to wake me up at multiple points in the night. However, I had absolutely zero issues with leakage. Set-up was also very manageable as a first-timer and it's only gotten significantly easier since then. Inside it was a smidge smaller than I was expecting but then again, I had to keep all my gear + a queen-size air mattress inside due to the rain. Considering I was a true newbie in bad weather, I left genuinely impressed with this tent.

No zip up windows except door and hard to put away

We bought this tent when all the others were sold at Christmas. It is not good. You need the fly to cover the tent so that it covers your windows. If it’s not on the whole 1/2 top of the tent is mesh and people can see in. And the bag it comes with is way too small to put the tent back in because the poles for the tent are actually attached to the tent making it hard to roll just right to fit. It was several different folds and fight to get it in the bag and we still did not zip it up all the way. We are frequent campers and have a camp on the Suwannee and the last tent we had for the kids lasted years and we finally threw it out giving us a need for a new one. I completely regret this purchase. Ps this review reflects nothing on Academy, we love Academy.

Tent Pole Broke after only three uses

I purchased this tent in May and used it three times that summer. In September we went to a campout and when I got there one of my tent poles had broken while stored in the bag (the string inside broke while the poles were folded in the bag). I have had no luck getting a replacement part from Coleman. The website they use requires a model number. I put it in and it couldn't be found. I emailed Coleman and never received a response.Other than that, the tent is nice. It allows cool air to come in. We had an unexpected rain shower and the tent didn't leak. The rainfly is designed so that you can leave the windows unzipped and still not get wet. The tent is easy to set up and take down.
