We absolutely ADORE this product for our dog! She is a mixed breed whose dominant behaviours reflect her Australian Cattle Dog DNA, and when she gets fixated on something (our cat, our food, us) this Pet Correcter is the only thing we've found that can bring her out of the fixation. We tried the coins in a can, the clicker, a whistle, other devices, and this is the one to which she responds every time. We love that it's not harmful, it hasn't caused her any kind of startle or nervous behaviours upon hearing the sound, and it has enabled us to use verbal 'hisses' when we don't have it at hand to break her fixation. We love it, and so glad Petco carries it in the larger size!

I was not sure when our son gave this to us to try with our puppies…. But he swore by it and we could see that Bo was very well behaved. This stuff actually works and works well with proper usage. We went from out of control to off the leash and listening. No more jumping on the counter….. honestly!

My 7 month old puppy was not getting the concept of not biting. Bruises all over my arms, hands, legs and torso! He's not aggresive, just playful. I followed the training instructors advice by ignoring him when he's fresh or putting him in a "time-out", but he just seemed to think it was all so much fun. I had no desire to use a shock collar, nor did I want my dog and house to stink of citronella spraying from a collar to stop the barking….at everything. So I tried one of the ultra sonic beeping things that are supposed to be wonderful. After the first 24 hours, she was ignoring the noise and barking over it! Pet Corrector is simply compressed carbon dioxide gas, and makes a sudden ssshhhhing noise when pressed. My dog stops barking immediately when she hears it, both indoors and outside. I accompany the noise with a sharp “no”, so she associates stopping barking with both the noise and my command, with the goal that just “no” will stop unwanted behaviour eventually. No pain, no smell, no batteries required, and no barking.
I have a 2month old Miniature Schnauzer who loves to bark. I had to correct it now while she is little because I stay in an apartment and I don’t want people complain that she barks all the time. It only took for me to use it 4 times for her to get the concept that barking at unnecessary things are not allowed.The trick is to do it immediately as they are barking. After you spray once say the command “Quiet”. Repeat multiple times or as needed when the barking occurs. For her to understand at 2 months old is incredible and her breed is known for barking a lot.
I have a small dog who thinks it is her job to bark at anything or anybody that she can see. I had tried so many other methods but decided to try this. The very first time she barked, I gave it one shot and she immediately stopped. This works for our pup! Pup is very mouthy & bites thinking it's a game. This has modified pup's habits! We have used 3 private trainers to correct this behavior and this is the most effective one! My dog is very reactive, and I tried every imaginable training methods to quiet down my dog without success for many months. I tried this pet corrector, and I went for an evening walk, and after 3 sprays, my dog learned not to bark at people or other dogs.Before this, the sight of other dogs will make him bark out of control. Now, he is still excited at the sight of other dogs, but he does not bark, even when the other dog is barking. And I haven't even used 1/4 of the can, yet.
I had recently gotten a puppy who is now 10 weeks old and is a mix between a Shar-pei and Carolina dog. His barking has become more prominent and consistent as he's gotten older (which is to be expected). After reading multiple reviews, I thought it'd be a great start to calm his barking. However, he does not really seem to phased by the sound. At first he was confused, but then continued to bark. After I sprayed it multiple times, following it with the word "quiet" he still continued to bark. Based on other's opinions, this product definitely only works based on your pet so don't expect to see results right away. If so, good for you and I wish it could of worked on my dog. Also beware after spraying it multiple times in a row, the cannister becomes very cold.
