I rode the 32C not the 25c version, on a gravel bike from a famous name that wins gravel bike of the year from year to year. I rode these on standard roads including a charity ride. I find them phenomenally quick, smooth and energy-efficient, quick to accelerate and with good grip on corners. They are quite slick but with some contouring at the sides. They were like night and day, transformative relative to the nobbly tyres that the bike came with. Under equivalent timed conditions, they were 10-15% faster than the previous tyres and this gravel bike / tyre setup is now over 25% faster than my road-bike 'race' setup. Keeping up with traffic is easier and if not after speed, they take far less energy to propel.

I bought these tires for my gravel bike based on the data from bicycle rolling resistance .com. I would say these are excellent multi surface tires. Their on pavement performance has already been established. It's their off road manners that surprised me the most. Once you dial in the psi for your setup, these tires absolutely fly off road. Obviously these road tires won't out perform dedicated gravel, CX, or XC mtb tires on the rough chuncky stuff but for sure they will out perform those tires on class 1 - class 2 ish surfaces. Think Tour of the Battenkill or BWR San Diego circa 2019. What I like the most is you can really mix it up on a roadie group ride and then mix it up on a gravel group ride...all on the same ride with the same bike. Getting such a high-performance tire at this price is an absolute steal! The first thing that struck me was how fast this tire is. It seems like every pedal stroke propels me forward with minimal effort, allowing me to reach higher speeds with ease. What truly enhances the performance of this tire is the choice of tubes used with it. After some experimentation, I found that pairing the Grand Prix 5000 with latex or TPU tubes took its capabilities to a whole new level. The combination of this tire with these high-quality tubes seems to create ,the perfect synergy, resulting in even lower rolling resistance and heightened performance. It's like the bike becomes an extension of myself, and I can feel the road with enhanced sensitivity.Apart from its speed, the Continental Grand Prix 5000 offers a level of comfort that sets it apart from other road tires I've used in the past. Long rides no longer leave me feeling fatigued and uncomfortable. The tire's construction and design seem to absorb road vibrations, providing a remarkably smooth and enjoyable ride.I must mention that the foldable feature of the tire is incredibly convenient for storage and transport. Additionally, the build quality and durability are impressive, making it a long-lasting investment. In conclusion, I highly recommend the Continental Grand Prix 5000 Foldable Road Tyre to any cyclist seeking a significant performance boost. When paired with latex or TPU tubes, its speed, comfort, and overall performance are simply unparalleled. So, if you want to take your riding to the next level, this tire is a must-have addition to your biking arsenal.Happy riding!Syed

I got the gp5000 tires in size 32mm yesterday and I took them for a ride. These are tube type. They were easy to fit on the Mavic Xyrium Equipe rims.It was a short ride on concrete roads. These were replacing Pirelli PZero Velo 4s tires in 28mm. Grip on the concrete was equally good, of not better. This tire also rolls very easily. It's perhaps a bit heavier, but being wider, that would be expected.Another thing that I found pleasantly surprising, was the speed of delivery from the Netherlands to India.
The Continental 5000 GP S TR tires left me feeling deflated. I decided to switch from Panaracer GravelKings because, though I dream of epic gravel adventures, I mostly ride the mean roads of my city. I thought that a road specific tire might last longer and roll faster, but I didn’t want to give up on tubeless tires and the confidence that goathead thorns weren’t going to ruin my Sunday morning fun. I shelled over the inflated price of $103 per tire and had them professionally installed on my DT Swiss 1600 PR rims at my local bike store.Yeah, they look cool, but I soon realized that I needed to pump them up at least every other day. They leak 20 psi every 48 hours. Not a deal breaker, but definitely annoying. They leak 20 psi every 48 hours. Not a deal breaker, but definitely annoying. What made me rotate my thinking that these were not a good purchase was going down hills. When I point my bike downhill and start to pick up speed, I get the very spooky feeling that my front tire is about to slide out from under me. I’ve tried adjusting my psi, but the sensation persists. I now go down hills with my hands firmly on my breaks. I never had that feeling with any other tire I’ve ridden. The latest blow is a flat that left a 1 cm gash in my rear tire –bad luck that can happen to any tire, I know, but now I’ll need an innertube and there goes the advantage of tubeless tires. My 2 cents: There are much better tires at a better price out there. Keep looking.
I’ve been a big fan of the GP5000 TL and thought the new GP5000 “S” would be EVEN better. But instead I’ve found some microholes in the sidewalls after dipping whole wheel/tyre in my kitchen sink! How’s the tubeless fluid meant to reach the sidewall close to the rim edge? Probably would seal if I added a minimum of 120ml or so of fluid but what’s the point of spending $120 per tyre for the “lightest” tubeless around, only to weight in up with more fluid than a tube would weigh? And not to mention the hours and hours of messing around changing valves and redoing wheel after wheel thinking it was something else! So yeah moral of the story, I will try another brand next as unfortunately im now scarred. Hope this review saves some others time & heartache I’ve been ... MoreI’ve been a big fan of the GP5000 TL and thought the new GP5000 “S” would be EVEN better. I haven't bought road tires in almost 2 years I will preface so end of G4000 and last gen schwalbe era. But, I refreshed my caad10 again recently. I spent extra money on tires cause they make a world of difference on an Aluminum frame. All for not. I got a 25cc because balloned out on 21mm IW tubless they would equal a 28cc on an old school 19 ID rim. WRONG!These on the same wheel are smaller than a 23cc Schwalbe or 23cc Vittoria Corsa. These run incredibly small.Go at least 1 size higher, 2 if you have a little bit of room to spare. If not don't waste your money listening to the other reviews.
Okay. So we have a lot of tyres. Clinchers, tubeless and tubs on different bikes. These replaced Conti GP5000 standard clinchers on race bike so we could go wider for a town centre crit with cobbles and road race with variable surface. They feel just as fast and no problems so far. Just got back from an inadvisable detour down an unpaved farm track, littered with holes and bricks - again no issue. Most importantly, genuinely the EASIEST tyres I’ve ever fitted (May just be me finally getting the hang of it!)
5 stars for service, shipping, and price. I returned the tires after debating whether to run them with tubes. I received a response from Continental with greater emphasis to use this particular tire tubeless or simply use the clincher version with a tube. I checked with tons of experts who varied on whether its prudent to run TL with tubes and after greater reflection I returned them for clincher focused tires. I simply do not want to pursue tubeless in any fashion whatsoever. I've let the industry move me into wider tires (32mm - gravelish), disc brakes, and eshifting (Ultegra). I'm good on advancements. Running without a tube hoping the sealant does it magic is not particularly a catchy proposition.
I actually down sized from 28s to 25s to go with my rapides cl ii. The 28s made the wheels really unstable in crosswinds very very twitchy and it’s not the first time I’ve come across this, my hunt 34s were horrible with the 28mms. I thinks it’s the hight of them. Anyhow at my weight the 25s are just as comfortable and I find them faster and better able to track my line as they form a better shape on the rim. If 25mm can hold your weight and you’re not riding cobbles or really broken roads personally i don’t see the need for anything bigger. Just my takeOh because the info was actually quite hard to find, on the roval rapide clx rims the tyers sit exactly 27mm after a couple of rides and when they’re flat the tyer will cover the front bead track just fine you ... MoreI actually down sized from 28s to 25s to go with my rapides cl ii.
