I love almost everything about the HS80. Out of headsets I've used from Astro, Steelseries, and Razer it's by far my favorite in terms of sound and mic quality and it's up there in terms of comfort. I just wish the battery life was better and that's the only thing keeping me from giving it a full 5-star rating.I love the design of the HS80's compared to the older Corsair headsets (I still like the older headsets too though). It has an understated professional look that I really appreciate ad the built-in illumination isn't too crazy. The materials are mostly plastic, but the construction is very high quality and keeps everything lightweight. The materials are mostly plastic, but the construction is very high quality and keeps everything lightweight. It's got the 'ski goggle' style headband that I love so much from the Steelseries headsets and the foam earpads breathe well. The flip-down microphone holds its position well, though I've noticed it's loosened up ever so slightly in the months I've had it. It's nowhere near the point of it becoming unstable, but something to keep any eye on longterm. In the box you get the headset, a wireless receiver, and a charging cable that also pulls double duty for wired usage. The receiver is on the slightly larger side compared to other dongles I've used, but it's nothing egregious and it has an LED light indicate whether or not the headset is connected which is nice. The setup and settings management is done via Corsair's iCUE software. I personal find Corsair's software to be a little clunky, but it works well enough for adjusting the settings on the headset.Wirelessly you get 24-bit 48kHz and 96kHz wired. I can't say if I really notice the difference compared to 16-bit 44kHz on other headsets, but it sounds great in either scenario for a variety of content. Most recently I have switched from playing Halo on my Xbox with a Steelseries Arctis 7X to playing on my PC with the HS80, using Dolby Atmos in both situations, and I was very surprised at how much more easily I could identify what was going on around me. The headset gets plenty loud too and in general I'm below 50% volume most of the time, which is not something I can say about a lot of other headsets. The connection wirelessly is mostly solid; I noticed some interference having the receiver connected directly to the front of my PC from time to time, but moving it to the USB port on my keyboard eliminated that issue. The microphone is incredible and the best I've heard on any headset I've used. It rivals the Blue condenser mics I have even. It does let in a fair amount of background noise though, so be aware of that.My only real problem with the headset is its battery life. Most other wireless headsets I've used I don't really think about the battery life while I'm using them and with the HS80's I do. The battery will frequently go from full to 'Medium' in a single gaming session (maybe ~2-3 hours) and it seems like I'm only getting around 10-12 hours before I need to plug them in to charge. It's not the worst, but it's bad enough that it's always something that's in the back of my head. It's a shame since the quoted battery life of 20 hours would put it in line with other wireless headsets I've used, but it definitely does not keep up with them. At least the headset can still be used in a wired mode, so you're not completely out of luck when the battery dies.Despite my issues with the battery life the HS80 is my new favorite headset. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a higher-end wireless headset as long as you can cope with the below-average battery life.

It just seems to me that most headsets, these included just don't really drive hard enough into the lows or highs to get a truly "immersive" experience, but they get enough of it that I wouldn't say they're unusable. Good/Great, not quite what I'd call fantastic though. 7.5/10.Little tight on my head, pressure sometimes gives me headaches but that's a me problem. On the bright side though it doesn't fall off my head so easily like other headsets. Cushions are fairly comfy, but if you're gaming in a hot room can make your ears sweaty.Overall these are pretty good but if you don't really need the wireless feature, I'd suggest just going to the wired one anyways so you don't have to deal with the quirky charging. if you have it plugged into USB while off, it'll automatically connect as a USB audio device which shows up separately from the wireless dongle. I suppose that's a pretty nice feature to have considering if you can't find replacements for those dongles should they get broken or lost, so that's some good e-waste prevention right there.

I was a little bit hesitant in buying this headset because of reviews that I saw on here about comfort. I decided to take the chance, and I do not regret it a bit. These are by far the most comfortable headset I've ever owned. Even with glasses on, the headset is tight enough to seal well around the ears, while not being so tight to be uncomfortable. Plenty of room in the ear cups. Can easily wear these for hours on end without any discomfort.Sound quality is great, especially with Dolby Atmos surround sound. People I play with online also mentioned a noticeable increase in microphone quality versus my old headset - it's crystal clear. Not that it should be a feature these days, but it's always nice to have USB-C connectivity - somehow some headsets still manage ... MoreI was a little bit hesitant in buying this headset because of reviews that I saw on here about comfort. Definitely worth paying a little bit more for a quality product. If you're in the market for a gaming headset, I would highly reccomend these.

I just picked these up in replacement for the Steele Series Arctis9 Although I was initially happy with the design and the overall quality of the Steele Series they had one downfall, that was they would never stay connected. After about 30 or so minutes they would lose their connection which is frustrating as I used them for work and not Gaming. Yes I know but have you seen the call center headsets? Enough said on that topic. So in come the Corsair and this has been my 4th swap for a wireless unit I hoped to be happy with and let me tell you right from the get go these babies rock! So I did the routine of starting with headsets in the $60 range (corsair hs60 I think) and those ended up breaking where the cup met the band. Then moved up from there going with the oddly shaped corsair voids which hurt my ear. Which brings me to these hs80s. They share a similar cup design to the voids but I wear these for 14 hours and they don't hurt. Being able to adjust the strap on top of the head is amazing. Audio is great, I usually rock anywhere up yo 44/100 on the volume cause they are just loud as hell. The mic being on a pivot arm is a little sketchy I'd rather it be detachable thought a 3.5mm jack. Downside is there is no mute button on the headset so it's either lift and lower that arm a lot which can cause damage over time or make a keyring for it ... MoreSo I did the routine of starting with headsets in the $60 range (corsair hs60 I think) and those ended up breaking where the cup met the band. Out of all the headsets from corsair, razer, Sony, ASTRO and turtleneck these are my favorite. Haven't tried many outside these brands. Hope this was helpful and happy gaming
These are a great pair of headphones. That wasnât a problem since the company does a good job of providing enough buffer and protection in the box that the headset itself came through without any damage.Installing was pretty simple and straightforward and I didnât have any issues. One quirky thing about using these headphones on a desktop is that when you plug the headset in, but donât âturn it onâ it will get its power from the USB port and set up a wired driver for your computer. I used this while plugged in on my computer first since I wasnât sure how much of a charge there would be. The weird thing is that the USB wireless receiver takes priority over the wired connection, but if youâre plugged in and havenât pushed the power button, no sound will come through the USBâs driver. You have to switch to the other driver to hear anything. However, when you push the power button on the headset it actually disables the driver for the wired connection and only the wireless connection exists, and it now works properly. This isnât really a problem in that everything still works fine, its just a bit quirky and might through you off if youâre using your headset in a wired mode to charge it and no sound comes out.On a PC the sound is great, but installing the Dolby sound app and using it to tweak the sound really makes a difference. This is still a headset so it isnât as good as a real surround sound system, but I think that the app really improved the performance of the headset. The headset itself is very comfortable. It has a size adjustment method I havenât used before in that it has essentially a cloth headband insert that you can adjust the size of by using the Velcro on the inside of the headset. As long as this doesnât wear out to easily, I can see this as being better than the style that extends the band by having extendable plastic components in the band itself. I often get my hair caught in those as I adjust them and its just irritating to get your hair pulled out every once in a while.I love the ability to adjust the sound on the headset itself and to mute the speaker by lifting up the mic. The earpieces comfortably fit all the way around my ears, and it makes it so much more comfortable than on ear headsets or earbuds. I can wear this set for a long time without any issue or discomfort. Itâs nice to not have to exit a game or go into the options to tweak those settings on the fly. If youâre into colors and that type of aesthetic, its fun to be able to set a color patter on the logos of the headset. Personally I donât care that much since I canât see it when Iâm using them, but itâs still fun.Everyone said they could hear me through the mic easily and clearly. I use it for gaming and donât really do any streaming, podcasting or other things that really take a great microphone so I donât know all the ins and outs of what streamers might care about, but the quality is great for me.Overall these are an amazing set of headphones that I would gladly recommend to any of may family or friends.
This is a good wireless headset with a lot of sound quality and decent customization, but its got too many issues that aren't worth the price.Lighting is useless, since it's only one tiny square and should have just been a default "sticker" of some kind instead of an RGB icon, because despite how small an area it is, that small square kills the already small battery.Range is abysmal, as you you can go maybe 3-5 steps away from your desk before it starts cutting out. (I'm in a small room and I can't reach the bathroom just 1 room over, maybe 8 feet away from the pc it's plugged into)Comfort-wise it's great, but terrible for glasses. The earcups are super comfy and the whole headset is well padded and good for long hours of gameplay. The earcups are super comfy and the whole headset is well padded and good for long hours of gameplay. The band at top is awkward for "adjusting" to your head, and will take a few tries to feel right, but it does the job well. I personally prefer the Void Pro's style of headset adjustment better as it's quicker, but the band here is much comfier than the thin patch of padding the Void Pro has.The microphone is kind of hit or miss, as it has connection difficulties when trying to connect to Discord or Google Meet stating it's been muted (even though it isn't) or showing that you are unmuted but the red microphone light is still on. *You would have to go into the iCue software and manually unmute it, and you need to have the new 4.0 version of the software for it to even be recognized. Sound quality on the mic is all-right, but not really worth the price you're paying. The charging cable is a USB-C, but it has to be a specific USB-C. Your average cable has a noticeable bulge right before the connection point, (where the metal bit starts) and because this headset needs a "slim" USB-C you can only use specific cables. (My Pixel 4 USB-C cable is too bulky for this, as are all of my other USB-C cables)Overall it's not a bad headset if you want to sit at your desk and not worry about cables, though with how short the battery life is it doesn't really feel worth it. You can honestly go with a wired headset and it won't make much of a difference. With how small the battery is you're bound to be tethered to your desk within a few hours anyway.Personally I feel you can do just as good, if not better with a wired headset. If you're looking for a good wireless headset I would recommend trying the HyperX Cloud II (2). Same price, but it's got a MUCH better range and battery.
This is not a very good headset.Usually, the audio quality is fine/tolerable, but sometimes it sounds quite bad, losing a lot of detail while being marred by what sounds like quite heavy static interference. There's no environmental factor that I've been able to trace to this problem, it just seems to come and go.Another problem is that the wireless range is marketed at 60 feet, but for me it doesn't work past 10 feet (with one section of drywall in between). Also, by default, the device has loud, obnoxious audio prompts ("mic off, mic feedback off!") that happen when you turn on the device, or move back into the device's anemic operable range. These prompts can be disabled using the garbage Corsair iCUE software, but the setting seem to get reverted at ... MoreThis is not a very good headset.Usually, the audio quality is fine/tolerable, but sometimes it sounds quite bad, losing a lot of detail while being marred by what sounds like quite heavy static interference. I was very satisfied with my old headset, but didn't want to wait days for a replacement set to arrive, so I took a chance on these. That was a mistake. The Arctis 7 specifies a range of 40 feet, which in my experience was roughly accurate, even through walls; I could use them to listen to stuff on my PC while doing the dishes in the next room, which unfortunately isn't an option with the HS80. The audio quality on the old headset was also notably better than the HS80 can manage even when it's not doing the static thing, and I don't consider myself to have a particularly refined sense of hearing.I recommend that you avoid these unless you can get them for, like, $50 or less and you think you can tolerate the issues I describe above.
I have to say I'm really surprised that the reviews on these aren't much higher.I just did a geek squad replacement of my OG virtuosos due to a problem they started having after a whole year of use.I'm a big tech geek so I love new device so I thought I would try this new model and I couldn't be happier. The things I didn't really like about my virtuoso we're all addressed in these new hs80s.They are more ear shaped versus round which IMHO is a way better design. The pads are thicker than my old ones so the comfort is a big upgrade.I was surprised the foam was softer than the pleather. They seem to rest on your head much nicer than the virtuoso ones and don't apply as much pressure over the top of your head over long use.Don't get me wrong, I loved my virtuosos ... MoreI have to say I'm really surprised that the reviews on these aren't much higher.I just did a geek squad replacement of my OG virtuosos due to a problem they started having after a whole year of use.I'm a big tech geek so I love new device so I thought I would try this new model and I couldn't be happier. The things I didn't really like about my virtuoso we're all addressed in these new hs80s.They are more ear shaped versus round which IMHO is a way better design. The pads are thicker than my old ones so the comfort is a big upgrade.I was surprised the foam was softer than the pleather. The difference was night and day with how clear and smooth the sound was when listening to teammates talk. Less outside noise than the virtuoso but still able to hear if I kept the volume down.I did turn them up to 100 and play some good electro music, and I felt like I didn't want to take them off.I feel very confident in saying I could use these all day and I've only used them for about 5 hours straight so far.If you look at a lot of YouTube videos like I did you will see a common thing with Corsair headphones. The clarity is fantastic. I highly recommend if you give them a chance you will like them. Best buy has a good return policy so why not right? I try stuff all the time, most of the stuff I keep and these are no exception. I want to pickup a second pair that I can take to my office but I may just get a nice carrying case so I can enjoy them everyday everywhere.Corsair killed it with these headphones. I think the only possible negative is that if your head height or width is a bit bigger than mine, the strap adjustments may not go far enough. I've got a larger chin with a beard and a more oval shaped head profile so I'd say try the fit first but even if they were a little snug, the comfort of the ear cups might still make up for that. They feel so good, I don't want to stop using them.
