Costa Fantail Ocearch Polarized Sunglasses, Mens, Matte Tiger Shark Blue Mirror

First let me say that I have been a huge fan of Costa Del Mar sunglasses and apparel for a long time. I have recently had the worst experience though. I always thought that I paid $300 for these glasses because the company was so good and easy to work with. Admittedly I have never experienced an issue until my last pair. (Which will be my 2nd pair of the same exact glasses for my husband, and the 5th pair that we have bought as a couple). We had these glasses about a week and my husband told me that there was a discoloration on the left lens, but I was never able to see it. Sure enough he had them IN THE CASE IT CAME WITH, in the vehicle and the glass cracked. When I tried to get them to replace the lens they said it was OUR fault!! GREAT Warranty - Costa for life

I had an 8 year old pair of Costas that the rubber had stretched and fallen off. Sent some pictures to Costa customer service and was told they were covered under the lifetime warranty. Sent the old pair back and, since my model was not available anymore, I was able to pick from a wide selection of other options. Chose the Fantail and love them. I will only buy Costa from now on due to my excellent experience!

Garbage

Over rated. Did not make it but a few weeks and the nose piece started coming off. Kept these in their case and maintained proper care due to the price I paid for them. Previous pair of $30 sunglasses lasted several years before they failed unlike these garbage glasses. Unfortunately Costa doesn’t make replacement parts for these I can order. What a joke. They want to charge me for repairing these defective glasses. Well no worries Costa I will not be purchasing any more of them and so far I talked a few people out of buying your products.

High price, low quality

The frames feel cheap and squeak when you open the arms. With in 3 days I noticed a tiny scratch in the center of a lens. I asked a store a store associate and they said that costa glass has an additional coating and it looked like the coating scratched. I owned 2 different pair of Maui Jim’s for 3 years each and wore them everyday of the year. One never had the glass scratch and the other eventually cracked from a hard fall.I had to return these costas. They aren’t worth the money like some of their competition. The only 2 costas I’ve owned have failed me.I’ll be sticking with Maui.

OK.... This could get long but heres my storyI wanted a made in usa sunglasses for my Florida fishing excursion that would take me to Alaska and also double as great everyday pheasant hunting glasses in my home state of South Dakota. I'm an example of the buy once cry once theory and made the purchase. My son also bought some costas that have the same qualities and deficiencys as mine.Lets get to the great things these glasses have.... They are lightweight and you don't even notice you are wearing them. The lenses are great..... durable and have clarity and all that is advertised of them. But there are definitely some sad notes. They fog so easy it is really annoying. I noticed this in other reviews also.... so evidently there is an issue.After wearing them ... MoreOK.... Today the nosepiece finally departed from the frame. I mentioned this to my son and his(which were a different model) were doing the same.So I figured lets send them in to get repaired. Well not so fast Chico..... The online form that is needed to get a service order started is like applying for a house mortgage. I filled out the form entirely. Wow, now its wait and see if Costa even wants to fix them.So my review is a 3 star for performance with a fogging issue but for the 200 smackers I paid I figured for a Made In USA product I would get a product that is fully supported by the manufacture. usually I strike it rich with Made In Usa products but I might have hit a loser here

Love the fit but quality is lacking

This is my second set of Fantail and third or fourth pair of Costa's. I love them, block the right amount of light and enhance colors... i show people the difference between their glasses and mine all the time. What I am not happy with is the quality. Both pairs of Fantails have issues with the nose piece coming off and almost always the left side mainly. I purchased them in 2018, had them in for warranty nose piece replacement April 2019 and here we are in August 2019 and i'm having to send them in again to get the nose piece repaired. Either there is a glue issue, assembly issue, or cheap quality parts. Why not just make a molded nose piece into the frame is beyond me. My First pair of Prescription Sunglasses AAA+++

This was my first pair of prescription sunglasses that I ever bought. They were always too pricey. I never found the perfect ones. I had a pair of Costa Del Mar sunglasses that I loved but I now need a prescription. to buy through the company was in$$$$$ane. I researched and glasses USA was literally the perfect fit for me and at half the price. The website and ordering process was extremely easy and I had my new prescription progressive glasses within 10 days. ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!!! I am now ordering a pair for my husband. Perfect all around.

These sunglasses fit me the best of any Costa style I have. They have a classic look without the oversize look that are popular the last year or two. Great from fishing to driving.Walmart is the go-to site to buy brand new sunglasses, great prices quick shipping and easy returns of needed.I will not be returning these Blackout Fantails though. These are the green mirror amber lenses. Looking to buy the blue mirror grey lenses next.

Stunning clarity, but with one major flaw (for me)

I was very excited to get these glasses. I ended up getting the 580g lenses, silver mirror front with a copper primary color. The glasses fit my face very comfortably, they aren't too heavy and didn't put pressure on my ears, even with prolonged use. I use them for sight fishing river salmon and I am very happy with their clarity and ability to cut through the water and reduce glare. Overall, I am very happy with my choice. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is due to the fact that these glasses fog up on me, even when I am at rest. I wouldn't consider myself a heavy breather, but on the way to my first outing with them, they began to fog in my truck. I wiped them down with the supplied microfiber cloth, and the fog returned again and again. I guess this isn't ... MoreI was very excited to get these glasses. Purchased two years ago thinking I was buying the best quality sunglasses with glass lenses. Choose the Fantail 580G Amber with blue mirror lens with silver frame. These best suited my fishing needs. In less than a year the rubber on the ear piece came loose. Things sometimes happen. Costa replaced these, however they no longer offered the silver frame in the Fantail. Went with gray frame, no big deal for me. I purchased for the lenses. The problem, in less than a year the nose piece rubber came loose. Contacted Costa, they would replace with one of five pair of Fantail glasses. Four of which had plastic lenses. The pair was glass lenses but offered only in gray silver mirror lens.
