I imagine the engineers, after doing the first assembly of this new version and discovering that the lid can't be fully seated (two corners will always float above the magnetized landing bolts) yelling, "CR@P! Who was in charge of that?!" But, here's another con:- The filament must be hung on the back and fed in from behind the printer, so that tends to require a lot of "reaching around" to get to the filament spool and to feed or remove the filament. The printer does come with G-code for printing a spool holder that can be mounted on the side, but heck, I paid $600 for this printer, so why should I have to spend more money and time to add this feature?!? Also, the filament has to travel around multiple bends making it impossible to use any sort of brittle filament, like wood infused. I had a print pause because a PLA filament broke on me (end of the spool so it was very curled, but still, shouldn't happen -- and this was Creality Approved filament, too).A Pro: This printer handles running out of filament mid-print fairly well. The print resumed with little damage to the print job.A couple of time the fabled AI actually showed up and saved the day. A print came un-stuck from the plate and the printer started printing "spaghetti in the air" and the AI noticed and paused the print - whoo hoo!PLA and PLA prints very fast with reasonable print quality. I have found, to get a decent PETG print, I must slow everything down by around a factor of 6 or 7. But, when I do slow it down, the quality is excellent. But, a large print will be on the order of a day or more, so I usually limit my PETG prints to small things. This is my first 3D printer, and it has taught me a great deal. But, if I had my druthers now, I'd buy a Bamboo Lab P1P or P1S or even an A1 instead.There's more but out of

Fabulous printer. Easy to assemble. Once calibrated it produces some of the best PLA prints I've seen and I have 3 other printers, most more expensive, to compare it against. Would make a great first printer or as in my case an additional printer dedicated for printing of miniatures. So would I recommend it, well YES. At this price point it's hard to go past it. Just take your time with the assemble, DON'T tighten all the nuts to the very last thing. Be sure to square everything up then do your final tighten. If the bed had the wobbles use the concentric nuts on the rollers to reduce the wobble. Remember to heat the bed then level (tramm) and be sure to set the nozzle height to the thickness of a sheet of paper. If you've completed these steps correctly you should ... MoreFabulous printer. I received this 6 days before the actual date. I waited till the weekend and started putting together. The key, when putting things together for me especially for the first time is to TAKE YOUR TIME! The pictures and the instructions were fine. Minor difficulty cause I wasn't exactly sure what they were saying while assembling, but figured it out. I also went to youtube and verified, especially when it came to aligning the bed. Anyway, I started my first print and it was almost perfect. I printed the dog and ran out of filament. So my dog looks like Frankenstein, no fault of the product. I am now hooked and want to purchase more filament. I am VERY HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT and it work GREAT after assembly... Key - Take your time!

Fabulous printer. Easy to assemble. Once calibrated it produces some of the best PLA prints I've seen and I have 3 other printers, most more expensive, to compare it against. Would make a great first printer or as in my case an additional printer dedicated for printing of miniatures. So would I recommend it, well YES. At this price point it's hard to go past it. I received this 6 days before the actual date. I waited till the weekend and started putting together. The key, when putting things together for me especially for the first time is to TAKE YOUR TIME! The pictures and the instructions were fine. Minor difficulty cause I wasn't exactly sure what they were saying while assembling, but figured it out. I also went to youtube and verified, especially when it came to aligning the bed. Anyway, I started my first print and it was almost perfect. I printed the dog and ran out of filament. So my dog looks like Frankenstein, no fault of the product. I am now hooked and want to purchase more filament. I am VERY HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT and it work GREAT after assembly... Key - Take your time!
I bought this kit with zero experience with 3D Printing!!! I will have to say though that I'm a fairly good judge of build quality when it comes to mechanics since by profession I am a copy machine repairman. This rig seemed simply well built. The only items I have 3D printed to enhance the use/accuracy are as follows: Z-Axis: adjustable z-stop limit switch mount (thingiverse), z-axis rod top bearing mount stabilizer (self designed in tinkercad), z-axis stepper motor mount to correct rod perpendicularity, LED Light mount brackets, a top bar carry handle. Overall this seems to be a great little starter rig with room for personalized tweaks. It does have some minor issues; The print bed is warped a little, but is easily fixed by using a glass build plate. the extruder is good, but an aluminum upgrade is available and I recommend it for this machine as well. Otherwise, print quality is excellent, machine is solid, comes with Cura for slicing models. Great purchase for a beginner like me. Even though it takes a while to finish a print project, (I've never seen one work so I expected something else) the print detail is fantastic. I received mine about a week ago around 7/10 and I have been printing since. I look forward to becoming more advanced with this printer. It came highly recommended to me and I am passing it on. Great value, came fast, Paper instructions a little vague but Youtube came to the rescue and I built it without a hitch. You are supplied with all the tools needed to build. I purchased two spools of filament around $22. more than enough for a long time. Another satisfied customer!
Works great. Took awhile to put together but I tried to fit everything just right to cut down future problems. I also tighten all screws and bolts as some were a bit loose on arrival. The prints are very good and the printer is quite with the newer control board 1.1.4. Heated bed works very well. I only print ABS and I added a glass plate and sometimes use hair spray to help hold. Very please with temp. control...steady as a rock. Instructions could have been a little better. No word on where to tie the cables to keep them out of the way. I added a Raspberry Pi and Octo Print with a camera. I am able to print with ABS without an enclosure in my bedroom and it works fine. I later built a shelf in a closet to store and operate the printer. Keeps it out of site when ... MoreWorks great. I've purchased or printed most of them already and I'll say it's a good idea to just plan on getting those when purchasing this. They are not completely necessary though, so if you're low on funds, this thing will still do a great job. I sprung for the all metal extruder, the yellow thicker springs and the glass bed that clamps on top of the stock metal one. I still have to hook on the dampers for the motors and the BLtouch for easier bed leveling. I've printed out the cable chain so that it doesn't snag onto the hot bed as it's moving around. I look to print out a different vent system for the hot end. There are other upgrades but these ones are a few fairly easy fairly cheap. Some issues brought up online I did not have with this one I purchased. Some said they received a warped hot bed. The one I got was perfect. Some had issues with the cable connector to power supply. The one I got was perfect. I think some of those people may have been moving the bed around a lot, creating electricity in the motors, which backfed into the power supply. Best bet is to either keep the bed all the way back after a print and bring cautious not to move the bed around like a maniac when scraping off the print...or just unclipping the top and removing the print that way. I'll admit, the 3d printer tech is not exactly easy for the average mainstream "consumer", but this particular machine makes it to be within virtually anyone's ability to be able to buy, to setup and to master. Especially if you were able to read this entire write-up. Anyways, YouTube, instructables, and thingiverse are great resources of info and for free downloadable prints. I just downloaded the 'Cura' program, set up my default printer as a cr10 and changedthe bed size. Open a file you find, and save it somewhere. It naturally becomes a "gcode" file. That's the slicer. It translates the 3d model you or another person makes into something your particular machine understands. Tells the motors what to do. Honestly, most everything after that is details. Lots of neat things to learn and make. I've actually printed out a MPCNC and I'm just about finished with that. I might print out a couple of REPRAP machines and who knows what else?! The extruder did not come with a piece of Teflon tube inside of it which made it jam - I cut Teflon tubing, installed it into the extruder and it has worked like a champ since. The quality of the entire setup is exceptional and the software is off the shelf Marlin firmware slightly modified for this machines board which Creatality publishes the source for on their website. I suggest buying a piece of 235mmx235mm borosilicate glass for the bed as the provided surface makes the prints stick too well (not something you typically complain about). As someone who sews I am well aware of what happens when the thread is not started correctly, therefore I made sure the filament would flow freely. Three quarters through the print the filamrnt stopped extruding due to being stuck under 2 rows. The printer continued to print leaving me with an unfinished project. I purchased the filament from Walmart instead of a much cheaper brand from Temu so I expected a better quality print with no problems. I am very unhappy.
