Awesome! Shipping was fast. There weren't any instructions included, which wasn't a big deal. I found installation instructions easily online. Memory works great and increases performace speed. I'm a designer and I use Adobe Creative Suite Design products on my home computer for work at times. I was able to run 3 design programs and my web browser all at once when I installed these 2 memory sticks. Before, I could barely get InDesign to open on my almost 6 yr old Mac :-)

I upgraded my Mac Book 10.5.8 (manufacture date late 2007) which originally had 2GB Ram. After the 4GB upgrade, there was a substantial increase in performance which made the investment well worth it. I have a new Mac book(20013) with Lion OS & my 2007 Mac Book leaves it in the dust!I have not experienced any problematic issues associated with the upgrade. Stability & functionality are very strong. The installation is straight forward & requires use of simple tools (Screwdriver). Thanks to Josh in customer service, I felt confident in the product as he was very patient & knowledgeable. My excellent customer service experience actually provided the confidence to buy knowing my purchase was backed by a reasonable warranty.

The product shipped as described. It came in a blister parcel, and the RAM stick was enveloped in an antistatic bag, which was a big plus. It runs with no problems whatsoever, and will keep my MacBook running for a bit longer. Will likely buy it again to max out the memory.

My Macbook was becoming so slow and everyone kept telling me I needed to go and buy a new one...especially since I create and publish a lot of videos for my business. I was bummed out because my MacBook is less than 2 years old so it seemed crazy that I'd have to fork over another few grand already.Luckily, someone told me about upgrading the memory by purchasing an upgrade kit from Crucial.Let me be clear, I am just a chick with an online business, I don't know anything about the inner workings of my computer. However, the process of selecting the right upgrade package was so easy. It showed up at my house in no time, and I was able to find a handy-dandy photo tutorial online so I could remove the old memory and add the new upgrade myself! With no fancy tools and no need to call my "computer guy".Now my computer is humming along and I'm uploading photos and editing my videos with no issue or time lags. I have already recommended Crucial.com to friends in my industry who are having the same issue.
Crucial was very helpful in getting the right memory sticks ordered. For someone not especially tech savvy, having to do "surgery" on the insides of my computer where so much is held that I can't replace, was a bit frightening. Everything arrived a lot sooner than I expected and I set to work with the instructions that were included. It was effortless and quick. I held my breath as the computer booted up and I saw all my files right where I had left them. The increased speed is so much better.I would NOT order the screwdriver. It was too large for the screws so I used my set of micro-drivers which worked perfectly. I suggest the Anti-static bracelet because a tech person told me there are horror stories out there.
Crucial RAM has always performed well for me and is a very solid choice at good prices. I have used Crucial RAM for years to either upgrade Macs, replace failed RAM or extend the life of an older machine and I have never been disappointed.I had a one time experience when one of the SO-DIMMS I ordered did not function out of the box. I confirmed it was failed RAM and not the RAM slot by using known good RAM. I contacted Crucial and the issue was resolved quickly and without question. As an IT professional I've recommended Crucial RAM to many friends, clients, customers etc...I'm sure that one can scour the internet and find RAM for less on occasion, but I find that the piece of mind I get from the no nonsense customer service to keep me coming back to Crucial ... MoreCrucial RAM has always performed well for me and is a very solid choice at good prices. My Macbook Pro has been running great for almost 6 years but with Mavericks and the new Yosemite update looming from Apple the 4GB of memory wasn't cutting it. 4GB of memory will run Mavericks but load anything flash based or have multiple programs going at once and you'll constantly see the swirly rainbow. Luckily Apple released an upgraded firmware a few years ago to allow late 2008 model Macbook Pro's to be able to use the full 8GB instead of the 6GB limit before the new firmware.I've only been using the upgraded memory for about two weeks but coupled with a solid state drive the upgrade to 8GB memory has made using my Macbook Pro an enjoyable experience again. I think i might get another year or two out of this laptop with just those two upgrades.
After building a few gazillion PC in the 90's and early 2k's I have found that if you use the Curcial tools to select your memory it works. That's it. If you don't lie RMA'ing memory that some other vendor says is compatible and isn't buy from crucial. This purchase was no different:1) buy Crucial memory2) put it in wife's 8 year old macbook3) reboot MacBook4) enjoy somewhat less time with the spinning rainbow wheel
Obviously there is an opinion conveyed in my review that I don't believe in 'High-End RAM' (other then what I specified before involving the RAM needed for servers; which is error correcting (ECC), fully buffered, requires full dimm heat-spreaders and is most often more expensive for said reasons. Yes, there is non-server RAM that has heat spreaders (built-in heat sinks) and RAM that can tolerate higher voltages (used generally for overclocking) among other 'high-end' features ---- But for me the difference between your computer going from 4gb to 8gb is exponentially more drastic and empirically observed then the difference between different types of 4gb RAM upgrades. That is not to say that thermal management isn't extremely important in computers (and for all heat generating devices) --- it is indeed one of the most crucial aspects of maintaining a system. If you have an incredibly small chassis that has little air flow -- you might want to think about RAM with heatsinks --- but for the average consumer -- RAM is RAM is RAM
I installed 2x 2GB RAM chips in my mother-in-laws 2010 Powerbook as it was really struggling to do anything. To be honest I wasn't sure it'd make much or any difference but thought as RAM was cheap and easy to fit it would be worth a go. Boy did it make a difference. I literally couldn't believe it, like a new machine again. To be clear, she doesn't do much on it, ie simple browsing etc, but it was struggling to just switch applications without severe delays. No more. Totally recommend this if you want a new lease of life in your Mac.
