I bought my Mac Book Pro early 2011 and started out with Final Cut Pro to make movies and edit footage and then I had to upgrade to Adobe Premier which functions best, and basically requires, an 8GB memory chip. SO! I bought this from B&H because I saw so many different versions being sold @ etc. but feel I can better rely on B&H and know that I get a good quality product for a price equal to what I would find on Ebay or Amazon but the bonus is my knowing that I will receive this product in great condition. And so it came, in great condition, to my door step and it was incredibly simple to put it my computer. So far, it sounds like I should have put 5 stars. But the reason I put 3 is to inform that along side my reason for buying the 8GB to support Adobe Premier, it was also to keep my computer from over heating so quickly. It did not do this as well as I hoped. Maybe it's because of how I inserted it? Or some distinct condition my computer is in in regards to the fans, I don't know. But I do know that the condition of the chips is not the problem...I hope not because then I would not know what to think of B&H. I am now inspired to do more research about this company. I have good expectations of it and will continue to purchase product from this company because I have had great outcomes with previously purchased products.

I have a Late 2009 27 iMac. It has worked very well for 6 six years. But lately I have had problems with it hanging, mostly when it attempted to wake up from sleeping. I tried preventing it from sleeping in the energy preferences. I tried upgrading to El Capitan from Snow Leopard. These things both improved the situation a little. Then by reading around I learned that most iMacs with 4 GB of original memory have two empty slots for additional memory. I shopped around and found the Crucial 8GB kit that matched the specifications for my computer for less than $ at B&H. Despite reluctance to invest in a six year old computer, I decided to try it. The install was tricky, because there is limited access to the slots, and on my first try the memory chips weren't fully seated. You need to exert significant force on the printed circuit boards to force them securely into the slots. Luckily, Apple has good directions on their website on how to install additional memory. The results are superb. Memory pressure in the Activity Monitor is reduced significantly. Swap has gone to zero. It hasn't hung since I installed the memory. The Activity Monitor says I am using 6 Gb of memory with Firefox and Chrome running. That probably explains the problems the system was having with 4 GB of memory. So I have noticed significant improvement in performance by purchasing and installing the 8GB Memory Module Kit for Mac by Crucial.

My Macbook pro Late 2011 started slowing down the past few months especially with the usage of Microsoft office programs such as Word and Powerpoint. The programs would take from 1-3 minutes to load and it was very frustrating. I was given the advice of upgrading my RAM to help with the speed of my laptop. I upgraded the RAM from 2 x 2GB (total 4GB) to 2 x 4GB (total 8GB) as purchased. My laptop is so much faster right now, and significantly so when opening Microsoft office programs. The load time for opening Microsoft programs is currently 3seconds instead of previous 1-3minutes. I have the Memory Clean app and before I changed the RAM the free memory available was 1-3% and now it has increased to an average of 20%. My Macbook Pro still takes a long time to start ... I'm not sure if this is the reason but I am reluctant to upgrade my OS for fear of either draining the battery faster or slowing down the laptop. This RAM was a good price on the website and it arrived within 2-3 days. Definitely a good investment in helping with the speed of the laptop.

I regularly use programs like Adobe Photoshop and Premiere. At least I tried to - before this memory upgrade on my Early 2011 MacBook Pro. I couldn't move layers in Photoshop with my previous MBP memory. The program would crash the moment I tried to move a layer, so unfortunately I learned to work with. After the update, I'm just feeling stupid cause I should have done the upgrade years ago. Don't debate it. It made me like my laptop again.
My 7-year-old Mac was not performing well due to not having enough memory. I'd only had 4GB installed when I bought it, so it wasn't too hard to figure out. Fortunately, this problem was easily resolved by adding two Crucial 4GB memory cards, which were very easily installed (thank you, Crucial, for your excellent video and printable step-by-step guides). Crucial also was able to tell me exactly which memory cards I needed and delivered them to my door within days. So now with the full 16GB memory, my Mac runs like new. Thanks Crucial!
I purchased this memory to upgrade an older iMac from 4 GB to 16 GB as the new Yosemite version seems to be a memory hog. I removed the initially installed Apple memory that came with the system and added the (4) new modules provided my this order. Initially the system would not power on and gave me a series of beeps when I powered the system on. Through trial and error I found that one of the four modules had a problem so ended up with only 3 of the modules working on the iMac. Everything seems to be running fine with 12 GB of memory and greatly immproved performance than with the 4 GB previously installed. I will contact B&H about the one module that does not work and am sure they replace and/or refund the cost. I would have given 5 stars if not for the hassle of ... In preparation for the upcoming operating system upgrade to Mac OS X El Capitan, I decided to max out the RAM on my 6-year old Mid-2009 MacBook Pro 13-Inch notebook. Having recently replaced the rechargeable battery in this machine myself, I knew that upgrading the RAM would be an equally simple and easy task. B&H, recommended to me by people I know well and trust, offered easily the best deal on the Crucial Memory Module Kit I preferred. Upon receiving my order (arrived in 3 days), I completed the installation with no difficulty in about 10 minutes. The MacBook Pro booted up normally and immediately recognized the added RAM. Performance has improved noticeably, as expected. Unexpectedly, I found that I did lose some hard drive space proportional to the additional ... Upon receiving my order (arrived in 3 days), I completed the installation with no difficulty in about 10 minutes. The MacBook Pro booted up normally and immediately recognized the added RAM. Performance has improved noticeably, as expected. Unexpectedly, I found that I did lose some hard drive space proportional to the additional memory, which I since discovered is perfectly normal for my MacBook Pro. All in all, I am very satisfied, both with the Crucial Ram upgrade and with the service from B&H.
My iMAC (early 2009) had been reduced to a crawl since it had only two 2 GB memory chips. Rather than buying a new computer, I elected to upgrade the chips bought from B&H. Had the pack in about 36 hours. Installed per Apple instructions. Upon starting up I heard fog horn beeps from the computer. Immediately shut down. Went online at B&H for user reviews. One user complained of installation challenges only to find he needed to insert the chips with more forcefully until he hear it click in place. That was also my problem and solution. Lesson learned: push hard on the chips as they slide into the computer. It will definitely click when they go into place.
I make videos for a living. I use a 2.5GHz i7 Late 2011 17 MacBook Pro, and it was lightning fast in the beginning. Came with Snow Leopard. Then, by the time I got to Mavericks, I had to buy an SSD to make it fast again, because the new OSes always make everything slower. Earlier this year I upgraded to OS Sierra and everything worked correctly, but very slowly compared to the old Snow Leopard days. Things were slow again. I've always only ever been able to edit 1080p video in proxy, using ProRes Proxy as my editing codec. That was with 8GB of RAM on an external USB 3 drive, piped in via thunderbolt adapter (no RAID). Upgrading my RAM to 16GB with this RAM enabled me to edit in full HD ProRes codecs without any chopping during playback! I can almost get away with ... MoreI make videos for a living. mid 2011 iMac was at 4MB and niw ar 16MB with two of these (4 simms total). bery noticable speed improvement and decided to not upgrade original 7200 rpm drive with ssd... this was all i needed. was badly needed especially ad wr have multiple accounts setup for family member and switching profiles is now a breeze.make the upgrade. best investment. running hi Sierra perfectly.
