The Battery in this small, light unit is very good considering. I do find that the FM radio feature will drain it in about 5-6 hours so best to keep a backup handy or a charger to hand. I love having the FM radio function but it doesn't have great reception when it comes to FM signal, however the CB radio signal is as good as the GME radio I bought this to be the backup for.

Haven't had a handheld UHF since around 15 years ago. This thing shows that technology has come ahead in leaps and bounds. Such a little pocket rocket. Pumping 5 Watts and battery last's forever without a charge. Awesome little device. Only downside is, you need to have very good eyes to read anything on the device's screen or buttons.

The DBH50R is an excellent hand-held UHF transceiver solution. Packed with all the options most needed for the general user ( or even enthusiast ), the battery life is excellent, transmission and reception range is outstanding for its size, form-factor and build are effective and robust and it's super easy to use. Adjustable delay VOX function is a great enhancement. The on-screen menu and abbreviations are also intuitive.Bought two of these ( during Cyber Monday ) for our travelling comms solution from Automotive Super Store - best price by far and swift delivery to Tassie.
Really happy with this little radio unit. We use it when hiking and when we are driving on open highways to communicate with other drivers and trucks. Works well. Very sturdy an compact.

What a great little radio! I'm a trainer on a mine site and have been looking for a half decent uhf 2 way for training my ops. So far into day 3 I haven't charged it and still got plenty of life. I was a bit sceptical when I opened the box and seen the size of it but it's definitely proved itself to be a very reliable radio. Was transmitting to a loader 6 km away through some thick obstacles (bund walls , heavy bush land etc ) nice clear sound and powerful little speaker. Good enough to hear over a D11 reving flat out!
I bought one for my job, I've had a few different two ways this one was about $100 cheaper once you get the hang of it it's radish to use but it's not rated to deal with much weather and if your listing to the radio and using it it will last for about 5 hours if you don't use it much about 12-14. I do find the aerial to big gets in the way but for the price decent no commercial radio.
