Best egg cooker out there. Others in this price range are usually plastic. Super simple to use, place water in the bottom, and pierce the egg with the tiny attached pin. Place them in the cooker and turn on. The alarm sounds when done. Dump the eggs into cold water, and crack them against the sides of the kettle to cool. BEST PART IS PEELING THEM IS A BREEZE!! Vital for deviled eggs. Economical yet so helpful!

I read a Chicago Tribune article, Top 5 Best Egg Cookers For 2021. They considered 56 models, consulted over 200 consumers; they rated this Cuisinart Egg Central as "without question the best on the market". After using it for a few weeks, I have to agree, it's awesome. I love it! Much post-purchase satisfaction. It'll cook up to 10 eggs at once hard, med, or soft, in the shell; poach up to 4 at once in a little tray, or an omelette in another tray. Well made, durable, good looking product. Easy to use, cooks eggs quickly & perfectly. Downside: I’d advise cooking only eggs on the main platform & not adding the top egg holder. I followed the instructions for water, carefully punching a tiny hole in each egg & egg placement. The water boiled over & out of the cooker & a few eggs cracked, leaving egg “gunk” inside the cooker. The water pan got a bit browned from the heat after the water boiled out. I used Dawn Powerwash to get the stuck egg off. I’ll only use the bottom rack in the future.

I like this egg cooker and I'm glad I bought it, but it is flat-out dagerous to use and needs a complete safety redesign. The biggest hazard is the less-than-obvious steam vent on top. One quick reach over this small countertop appliance, even a couple of inches away, and it's an instant, painful second-degree burn, as I discovered the hard way.The metal top itself seems to have been designed to look pretty, with no consideration for how hazardous metal is when it is in direct contact with steam. Amazingly, even the lower edge of the top is hazardous, since the metal is so sharp that you can cut yourself on it if you're not careful. The top needs to be completely re-engineered out of heat-resistant plastic, with a very conspicuous red label at the top to warn of ... MoreI like this egg cooker and I'm glad I bought it, but it is flat-out dagerous to use and needs a complete safety redesign. The biggest hazard is the less-than-obvious steam vent on top. However, I was amazed to discover that it would not quite fit in the largest size eggs I got at the supermarket.Another somewhat amusing problem I discovered was that the instructions do not bother to explain what they mean by the "top" of an egg, which for this unit turns out to be very important. Counterintuitively for most of us, the "top" of an egg in steam cooking is the wider, flatter end of the egg.For my very first batch I put in the maximum of 10 eggs I thought the top of the egg must be the pointy end, so I put holes in the pointy ends and set them all inside the unit with that end up. Every single egg spewed some of its insides all over the interior on the cooker... what a mess! Once I checked with other users and discovered that the flatter end of the egg is the top, every egg has since come out fine.As a product, they definitely need to provide more specific instructions on this point!
Love the egg Central, it used to be the only egg cooker in town. It makes simply the best eggs for deviled eggs. They peel very very easily, if Cook in the egg Central and immersed in cold water for 4,minutes after they are done. The shells just fall off. The down side is that it only lasts about a year. Granted, I am a cook and use it a lot, but I think that failure rate is bad. And now there are many other egg cookers on the market… Perhaps you need to look at that one Cuisinart
Ive struggled with many different methods of making hard boiled eggs and it was never a given that the shells would come off cleanly! But after three uses for hard boiled I am in love with this little unobtrusive machine. However the cup that comes with it to puncture the eggs isn’t very user friendly and I had issues with the egg breaking so — I prefer using a safety pin! Works great.Omelet with precooked bacon and chives came out perfect. Fluffy, tender, and aesthetically pleasing.I only tried a pouched egg once. When done it white was still runny … Will try again.I find the water level markings on she water cup confusing and could be made more clearly. Also be sure to add tbsp white vinegar to base plate and wipe out with paper towel immediately after ... MoreIve struggled with many different methods of making hard boiled eggs and it was never a given that the shells would come off cleanly! I almost feel silly saying this, but this egg cooker is life changing! I recently purchased an induction range, and could not make hard-boiled eggs for the life of me, even though I’ve made them, with little trouble, for 57 years. After several attempts, I purchased something that I never thought I would…an egg cooker…and I love it. The eggs come out perfectly every time, and peel like a dream. Don’t hesitate; do yourself a favor, and buy this; you won’t regret it!
I have used my egg cooker several times with mixed results. The procedure of cooking the eggs is simple, The first time I used it I did not use distilled water & the high calcium count in our water caused thr surface ofthe water area to discolor. so get a small bottle of distilled water to use per the instructions. Each time used the cooker I made 10 eggs, twice using cold eggs and once using room temperature eggs. Each time 4 of the 10 eggs were several cracked & oozing out of the shell & a couple of them actually exploded and the yolk was completely out of the egg. In the secnd batch, all of the eggs had that green overcooked color on the yolk.Once cooled the eggs had a great taste and texture.Prior to purchasing this egg cooker I was using my 10 qt pressure ... MoreI have used my egg cooker several times with mixed results. I bought the Cuisinart egg cooker for convenience.I have not tried using the cooker the prepare soft boiled or pouched eggs or omelet.
This little egg cooker is the best! I’ve tried soft boiled, medium boiled, and hard boiled, and they all come out to perfection. Just follow the simple instructions and voila! The eggs peel super easy too, which is always a plus. My doctor said I needed to up my protein. This is the answer! It’s so easy!
My little egg dasher stopped working. I'm not sure if it was my fault (I didn't wisk the eggs before putting them in the omelet tray, and it cooked the outside but not the inside), or if it worked for a while and then became defective. The last time I used it when that happened with the omelet, I noticed a bad burning like smell and so just to be on the safe side, I brought it back. This new egg cooker is good, although you do have to use distilled water if you don't want your eggs to gray. I do wish these egg cookers had an auto shut off, but at least the alarm is very audible so you will hear it to turn it off. The poached egg tray isn't as good as the egg dasher's, but it cooks fine. The egg dasher's tray held 2 eggs, whereas this one is for four and so more square. Also I liked the cover for the egg hole pin on the egg dasher better than this one. This one only has a tiny cylinder shaped cover that could be easily lost. But I'm still giving the product 5 stars because I love how easy it is to cook eggs now. They peel super easy, too.
