I had a Cuisinart coffee bean grinder for more years (15 or 20!) than I can remember and it served me well. However, it finally gave up the ghost. Because my experience was so good with the first one, I immediately ordered the same model as a replacement. We make single serve coffees and cappuccinos, using the grinder at least four times a day seven times a week if not more. The Cuisinart grinder is definitely up to the extensive demands we make of it.

Ive had this grinder through 3 espresso makers now -- going on 6 years! -- sorry for all the 1 star reviewers whose grinder broke or they didnt know how to clean nor transport ground coffee to your machine. (Pro Tip: its dry coffee; you DONT need water. Transport ground coffee to your coffee maker using a scoop maybe vs pouring? Works for me. But back to the machine: going on 6 years still grinds like a champ. Probably not as fine a grind as a machine 5-10x the cost but thats on me. Grind here is > adequate. If you dont think so buy a pricey model.

My rating is obviously related to the product, but I definitely need to qualify my rating. I specifically looked for Cuisinart when I went out to purchase a coffee grinder, something I had spent the better part of a week looking for all over town. When I find this one, I was ecstatic (but it was the only one available). So, what's the issue? Well, it grinds perfectly - no issue with that, but the design is such that the coffee always falls all over the counter when I remove the top. I had a Cuisinart grinder before (left behind when I moved to the US for others to use) and I didn't find the same model (I probably should have gone to Amazon...). The inside is just small for my needs and I chose poorly. Don't waste your money
15 July 2024

This grinder looked promising based on the reviews, but ended up being a total waste of money. I literally got TWO uses out of it before it died. In those two uses, it seem vastly underwhelming and would take longer than advertised to grind the coffee beans with them still being inconsistent in the end. Additionally, it was not easy to clean and the on switch is an awkward design. I am eagerly looking forward to returning this back to Target and getting my money back.

Exactly what I needed

I had 8 bags of fresh coffee beans given to me during the HolidaysI had to use my blender which took a while to use ( cleaning and drying)I selected this grinder since it's for my personal use at home.I love it. I use it every couple of days and I have a fresh cup of coffee without any waste, and cleaning is a minimum of two minsGreat for a single or a couple. The price tag is incredibly affordable but on sale I couldn't pass it byThe color Goes well with my kitchen

Excellent product from a well-known brand

Excellent product from a well-known brandI am very happy with my new spice grinder from Cuisinart. I wasnt sure how fine a powder I would get grinding nuts, but it does a great job. As a vegan, I grind nuts of all sorts, seeds including flaxseeds and chia seeds, and herbs like rosemary and fenugreek to use them in my smoothies and in my vegan dishes. The unit itself is fairly small but it is powerful. Operation is a breeze! Just push down on the top. I highly recommend this item to anyone looking to buy a quality grinder.

Excellent simplicity

I've had this one for a few weeks now., and had used one at a friend's house so I knew what I was getting. His is the same design (except white), and has lasted through many years of daily use. In our house we had been using a much fancier Mr. Coffee model that our daughter had jettisoned, with removable grinding cup, automatic shutoff with variable length of grinding (gauged to dialing in the number of cups), and a clever inner frame that turned inside the grindng cup to clear out sticking remnants of the ground coffee. All very cool-looking bells and whistles, but none of it lived up to its hype. From what I could tell, the dials and timing on the Mr. C. were misleading, and maybe even totally fictional. All very cool-looking bells and whistles, but none of it lived up to its hype. From what I could tell, the dials and timing on the Mr. C. were misleading, and maybe even totally fictional. There were so many edges and corners and surfaces that after a few uses there would be a mess of coffee dust gathered around everything on the kitchen counter. And when I tried to process larger amounts of beans (8-10 "cups" worth) the results were so unevenly ground that I had to do it in two smaller batches. The little Cusinart is simpler but actually grinds more evenly and creates about a quarter of the dust. Before I bought this I saw a review that said it was loud, so I checked when I first opened the box. Empty, it just quietly purrs, so that noise comment is misleading. Loaded, though, the beans do indeed rattle against the inside of the grinding area when they are being ground. But to me this is a benefit: Unlike the silly auto-stop and sliding controls of our previous grinder, with this one you just listen to the sound of the beans grinding. When you stop hearing the tap-tap of individual beans hitting the sides of the grinder, it's finished. Anyone of normal observational ability should be able to achieve their preferred coarser or finer grind just by listening. I nailed it on the second run. This little thing just works and works well, period. The old one is going to Goodwill.

Now a coffee snob
30 January 2023

I bought this to grind coffee beans after accidentally buying whole beans. This is my first time doing this. I found the unit to grind four tablespoons in roughly 20 sec. It's a little noisy. I pour the grounds from the grinder to to coffee maker filter over the sink to reduce spilling any grounds on the counter. The grinder did not come with a brush, that would have been helpful. I feel about 6tbsps is the max I would grind at a time. The price was reasonable. Fresh ground beans smell and taste better than kcups and old coffee grounds. It's a good beginners entry level grinder.

Small capacity
18 September 2024

This grinder works very well but I was disappointed with its capacity. I am used to grinders that hold a full cup of beans which is what I house for my large French press. This model only holds 1/2 cup of beans so it requires filling twice for one pot of coffee. It’s an inconvenience rather than a big problem but I wish the outer packaging had had some information about the capacity. The machine and the box are roughly the same size as the others, but the actual bean cup is tiny. I might have chosen a different grinder if I had realized how small this one was.

Solves every problem I had with my old Grinder
1 November 2024

I'm delighted by this product. It's better than my old coffee grinder in many ways - I used to have a big mess of coffee grinds all over the counter, but this Cuisinart coffee grinder is designed not to drop coffee grounds. My counters are over 99% clean of grounds. It's also faster and quieter and the Cuisinart allows me to see the grounds through the cap, so I know if it needs more time without opening the cover over and over. Very happy with this product. Highly recommend.
