Cyberpunk Red RPG - Jumpstart Kit
Description The 4th Corporate War’s over and the big dogs have retreated to their corners to lick their wounds. That leaves everyone else to fend for themselves in a shattered world. And that’s just fine. ‘cause you’ve got interface plugs in your wrists, metal in your limbs, and chips in your skull. You’re wired in, loaded with chrome, and ready to take it to the Edge. There’s a world full of opportunities out there. Maybe this time you can do more than save yourself. Maybe the Cyberpunk Red Jumpstart Kit is the perfect introduction to the newest edition of the classic Cyberpunk tabletop roleplaying game and includes: Two booklets, one containing world lore and adventures and the other the essential rules needed to play right out of the box. Six pregenerated characters. Six Cyberpunk-themed dice from Q Workshop (2 d10s, 4 d6s). Maps and standees to help bring the world of Cyberpunk to life!

It's fun packed in a box. It's like D&D turned into in a board game, with cards instead of dice and DM. Takes time to unbox and set up (huge amount of token and cards), but this is fun too. Quality of parts is top notch. Gameplay is amazingly designed. You can choose how much you role play, but you can definitively role play if you want. Feels like a campaign setting for D&D.

Great for getting started but, needs more. Additional character cards for all role types, male and female would be nice. Overall though, if you aren't sure if this game is for you and your group, the Jumpstart Kit is likely what you should buy before getting the core rule book.

If your looking at getting to a new sci-fi RPG the jumpstart kit is a great way to start. You get pre-gen characters, scenarios, all the rules you need, and even a set of custom dice. The only reason this didn't get 5 stars is that Cyberpunk Red's Core Rule book had a few rules tweaks between the jumpstart kit and printing, so you can't seamlessly move from Jumpstart to normal play. Taking that into account you still get a good deal of value out of the scenarios and dice, and it is perfect for a few one shots.

I'm new to the Cyberpunk world and have never played an RPG before, and this starter set was perfect for jumping into both. The rules are streamlined and simple to understand, and more importantly, easy to explain to others new to the game as well. There is enough lore to set the scene, but not so much it feels overwhelming. There's also information for those who want to run the game, not only in the scenarios but throughout both books, which was very helpful. The introductory scenario is quite basic, but an excellent way to do exactly that - introduce the game's mechanics. We played with 4 people all new to Cyberpunk and RPGs, and it was a great way to learn the basics of combat and die rolls. There are 3 other scenarios in the starter kit that are a little more ... The introductory scenario is quite basic, but an excellent way to do exactly that - introduce the game's mechanics. We played with 4 people all new to Cyberpunk and RPGs, and it was a great way to learn the basics of combat and die rolls. There are 3 other scenarios in the starter kit that are a little more involved, and one you can download on the RTalsorian website, but there's enough information in the books for the person running the game to come up with their own scenarios as well. This jumpstart kit is a great introduction to the game, and we're now really looking forward to the full rules coming out soon which will include class skills for the rest of the characters (not just the Netrunner included in this box) as well as way more weapons and tech.
It was a long time coming and did not disappoint. I've played RTG's Cyberpunk since the original black book box set and the line has seen its ups and downs. Cyberpunk Red is definitely one of the ups - a very tight and playable system, lots of the good old Night City goodness, a serious curve ball or two to update and make it even more relevant. The original games were eerily prophetic, and I can see Maximum Mike is still looking forward AND keeping things at street level. This starter set was a great re-introduction and update to a masterpiece of a game world and system.
It's a nice quality box with thick cardboard characters and nicely sturdy books and maps. The paper books are not thin and fragile. The only downside is the dice. It's hard to tell what they say. For example the 4 looks like a 7 on a d6... other than the dice, great product.
Looks great, its got everything you need to start Cyberpunk miniatures game, the rules seem very well set out and is a lot easier to deal with than the Shadowrun Starter. The character profiles are pre set though from what i saw. The dice are great The counters and everything else is made from card. I wish they had added a few plastic miniatures to go with it at the price point is my only downer.
Received on time & in excellent condition; Works well for me. As others have mentioned - this is a Basic introduction to the Cyberpunk Red game system - BUT - that's exactly what it is described as ... it is not the Full Version of this game system. It is a basic "jump start" for beginners or those who want a "down & dirty" quick start campaign, albeit a bit basic. I don't think it deserves a Low Review because of it's content or presentation - It is what it is: a basic jump start version of the forthcoming full version. If you want the full version - Do not buy this product - you will be disappointed. For those who are newbies & just starting out or you want a quick, easy start for basic game play - It is Excellent! Thanks
This sets the bar for boxed RPG Starter sets. From here on out why can't a set have Q Workshop dice, printed battle maps and stand-up 2D minis included? Too many companies charge too much for empty cardboard boxes (looking at you, Wizards of the Coast!) with a set of cheap dice. This set rivals or beats the quality of the Call of Cthulhu box set and that's saying a lot.
Was looking forward to this. It came. I opened it and took a sigh of disappointment. You get a couple thin books, two small maps some poorly drawn token and stands, and some dice that are impossible to read. Seriously you have to stare at them to figure out wtf they say. The story is simplistic and immature. They seem to be robbing the best from cyberpunk of old but making it less attractive and convincing to the story. The rules for combat are needlessly complex. The adventures that come with the book are lame and meaningless. The world is about as interesting as mr Rogers neighborhood if it were located in Engelwood Chicago. Boring. The graphic design is horrible. The art is bad. They seem to be hoping you will love it for nostalgic purposes. I would have loved to ... MoreWas looking forward to this. It came. But you don’t get much and what you do get is useless. There are better systems out there. Genesis android blows this out of the water. Good luck with your purchase. Maybe you will like it.
