Truly a quality product - heavy steel pan body - not your cheaper thinner models. I have not been able to achieve the more uniform darker color yet - but the meats we have fried and bacon and eggs we have cooked have not stuck to the metal surface.Would buy another one!John

I've been looking at the debuyer pans and decided to get a set of these. I was VERY pleased with the help I recited from customer service as I needed to correct my order after it was placed which was no problem. I received the pans the next day. The quality is excellent and pans are truly commercial quality. They are heavy and just slightly lighter than comparably sized cast iron. The heat retention and even cooking is amazing. I used the following method to season which worked really well with eggs sliding out of the pan: use flaxseed oil and just a few drops. I rubbed all over surface with my fingers and then wiped with a paper towel.I heated on high until it smoked and turned brown. The finish is smooth, slick and not gummy. Highly recommend these pans and this ... MoreI've been looking at the debuyer pans and decided to get a set of these. Only had this pan for a week, but it's seasoning up nicely 👌 I'm confident that this pan will be handed down to my kids. Strong and solid

After I purchased the frying pan I seasoned it well and it turned out perfect, nice and black and looks great. Have used it a number of times already and nothing sticks to it. Getting better with every use. More than happy with my purchase. Would recommend this product.
The frying pan is great, however, the handle is not very comfortable, it's very thin and kind of sharp. Since the pan is heavy, the handle edge presses into a palm every time you lift it, I even got a bruise from lifting and moving the pan while I was seasoning it. I also got a Mineral B Pro frying pan and it has a different handle, and I don't have such a problem with this pan. Thus, I would rather pay more and have a comfortable handle and this is something I'll be paying attention when looking for a new frying pan in the future.
Bought this for making eggs and this pan works great when seasoned well. Good buy for a carbon steel pan. Still getting used to the right temperature for making eggs. Pans works great when it is hot, but you need to flip the eggs at the right time to not burn the food. The only downside is that the handles do get a bit warm when the pan is used for 10-15 mins. You might need a silicone sleeve to overcome that.
I wanted a carbon steel pan for the usual purposes, and was reading a lot on the De Buyer pans. I discovered that the Carbone Plus was the same pan, slightly different handle, but not coated with beeswax. I like the handle on the CP better, because it does not have the silicone insert, and is coated with a very durable substance. The pan is heavy, thick, will not warp if exposed to high heat. Seasoning as instructed in a De Buyer youtube vid was a breeze. I bought this and a slightly smaller pan for a few bucks more than a mineral b would've cost me by itself, and the price of the two pans allowed for free shipping. Shipping was lightning fast, and the packing was first rate. I'd say buy from Kerekes, Bake Deco with confidence.
I've reviewed another 11" de Buyer Carbone Plus on this website and I can say the same for this pan. The reason I take the time to write this review is for the service more than the pan. I had ordered an 11" and a 9 1/2". I figured the free shipping over $49.00 would make it worthwhile, and I'd have the smaller pan for smaller jobs. So I put the order in late one night. I saw that the 9 1/2 was out of stock, and not expected to be available again for almost a month. So I did a bit of looking around on the site, found that the 10 1/4" pan gave me a bit more cooking surface, was in stock, and only $6.00 more. I called Kerekes in the morning and asked if I could pay the difference and substitute the 10 1/4" for the out of stock 9 1/2". No problem the young lady said. ... MoreI've reviewed another 11" de Buyer Carbone Plus on this website and I can say the same for this pan. Bought this years back to never have to use nonstick cookware again. I found I used it for more than eggs as I got used to working with it.If you're using this for meat searing and beyond, always avoid acids (even when de-glazing) and know that you may get to a point where it needs to be re-seasoned. Look up a guy named Uncle Scott on YouTube; he offers a decent primer on re-seasoning and how to cook various things in CS pans you'll appreciate. These are the workhorse pans everyone needs. Sure you may find them heavy, but not as heavy as cast iron. Take care of them, and they'll handle just about whatever you throw at them. And if you manage to gunk them up, its fixable!
Thick and heavy duty pans. As heavy as cast iron. I've just got them and still in the early stages of seasoning them. Follow the instructions carefully and these should be a good pan for indoor or outdoor cooking. My first use after seasoning was for fried eggs and they slid out easily. You need to use oil with these every time you cook, And a generous amount otherwise food sticks ( my chicken breast did). Never wash, just use water and a wooden utensil or green scrub sponge to scrub. If food is stuck on, slowly add water and let sit on stove to soften. Then scrub, wipe, rinse, dry, and re-oil, heat if necessary. Dry and put away.
