The monitor arrived in a box that was perfectly designed to prevent shipping damage. The setup was plug and play. Because I had all of cables prepositioned, I took me less than 10 minutes to be fully operational. At the aforementioned price point, this is not for everyone. However, for a power user I could not give it a higher recommendation.

The additional 720 vertical pixels (2K total) and 5K horizontal resolution gives tons of space to work in. The Dell Display Manager app also makes it very easy to set up screen space and divide the huge resolution into dedicated areas and sections of the screen you want apps to always show on.We love that the monitors height can be adjusted, and with the screen space mostly spread horizontally, I can see over the monitor to my entry door way without leaning around my screen. The backside is sleek silver, ... MoreThe 40" Dell U4021QW curved monitor is fantastic, and looks very sleek and impressive on the work desk. After testing the Dell 34" UWHD monitor for a while, we wanted additional screen space to keep multiple windows and folders open to work in at the same time. Great Monitor for Multitasking

This is a very nice monitor. The size works well for my desk. The monitor is about an arm and a half away from me. Colors looks good and the built in speaker is a plus. The screen size gives me enough space to multitask without additional side scrolling with smaller monitors. I have this connected to a Dell docking station and use the additional USB ports from the monitor. My only issue is that my USB Logitech mouse doesn't have a smooth signal when the dongle is connected to the monitor. Mouse cuts in and out. No issue when dongle is connected directly to laptop or dock. Wired keyboard works fine from the monitor. Overall, good single monitor taking up less footprint than having dual monitors.

A RTX3090 proved to be enough for most recent games, but requires some tweaking.- It was shipped in its retail box, no cardboard box around it, so not a lot of privacy there.- It's curved but barely, still not a huge downside for me, but probably an issue for folks wanting to buy multiple units to surround themselves with screen.Always an impeccable experience with Adorama, and great price!

Great monitor with a small catch

The U4021QW's five-star reviews are generally on target. Overall quality seems to be rock-solid, and it lives up to its billing with very good image quality and (presumably) excellent color fidelity. I say presumably because from what I can tell, the latter is only achievable by running at extremely high brightness levels that are likely to be uncomfortable in everyday use.Specifically, I prefer the 'daytime' color theme in Windows, but the Q4021QW emits an absolutely insane amount of blue light unless I crank down the blue drive to almost zero in my display adapter's control panel *and* enable Night Light mode. Doing so obviously impairs the color fidelity, and it also harms legibility of small text in some applications. So, if you dislike a lot of "blue push" ... MoreThe U4021QW's five-star reviews are generally on target. Otherwise you'll likely be very happy with this model.

This screen replaced a 36” LG ultrawide that, despite having good reviews, drove me crazy and had terrible washout. This monitor is basically perfect for my purposes. I’d prefer a higher pixel density as I use macOS and it doesn’t match the target density of that OS, but it’s as good as it gets right now with an ultrawide. So far the monitor has no idiosyncrasies that bother me, the image is as uniform as I expect for a monitor in this class, and the colours are quite good right out of the box. No dead pixels, light bleed is minimal.I’m not saying there is nothing I would improve, but for the price I got it for, it was as good as I could have hoped for, I have no complaints, and it destroys the LG that preceded it.Note that I’m a software engineer. Good: -Colours are gorgeous.Nice sturdy stand that moves when you want it, but hasn't moved on it's own yet.Easy to get the cables in and out.Setting the reaction time to fast gives very crisp frame transitions at 60Hz, with the option for normal to smooth out lower framerate content (24fps for movies etc.)Tons of real estate for multiple programs. Especially good for video editing since you can get a nice big section of the timeline on the screen.Picture in picture is completely usable, even if the small screen is full HD.Turn on/off/change source time is super fast.Bad: -Could be a tiny bit brighter, in a bright sunny room it's not too difficult to see, but not bright either.Selecting a PiP resets the monitor inputs; window positions on your OS ... MoreGood: -Colours are gorgeous.Nice sturdy stand that moves when you want it, but hasn't moved on it's own yet.Easy to get the cables in and out.Setting the reaction time to fast gives very crisp frame transitions at 60Hz, with the option for normal to smooth out lower framerate content (24fps for movies etc.)Tons of real estate for multiple programs. (This doesn't happen when changing source).Power button and stick could be a tiny bit closer to the edge to make them easier to get to.When I first plugged in, I somehow selected chinese as my language, I'm certain I didn't slip when doing this.I'm actually using this as a gaming monitor, 60fps is fine for me and it does a great job of giving a smooth framerate. There is a little ghosting as with any LCD, but it has to be an extreme colour change (I only really notice it when the pixel is going black to white in a single frame). It depends how hardcore your gaming is. It gives a nice immersive feeling with the curve filling your peripheral while in a game and the screen is so high res the image isn't pixelated even when sat a normal distance to a monitor.Verdict: I love it!

I wanted it to work with my laptop like it does in the pictures: a single usb-c cable to the monitor supplying picture, sound, usb hub and charging back to the laptop. How nice. The spec on Dell's website said you needed a thunderbolt 3 usb c port. You don't- you need thunderbolt 4 usb c port. I have a dell XPS 9300 with thunderbolt 3 - it doesn't work (it just flickers on and off constantly). I tried my daughters XPS 9330 (basically identical laptop but 1 year newer- but with thunderbolt 4) and it works fine. Worth every Penny!

I need a lot of screen real estate because I generally have more than two dozen programs going simultaneously. The U4021QW seemed to fit the bill for my home office - so I gifted myself one for my birthday.I felt I might have overspent spoiling myself, but after using it for a month I realize this monitor is worth every penny I spent. While one may believe a monitor’s technical specifications objective to make the decision to purchase, the visual realm is very subjective and two different monitor models with otherwise identical technical specifications (brightness/resolution/color gamut) might not look equally pleasing to the eye. That’s because besides the brightness, resolution, dynamic range, and color fidelity there are additional unpublished proprietary technical specifications. This secret sauce is what the real differences in monitor quality are all about and at times more important than the published resolution/brightness/color gamut/dynamic range specs.A hypothetical example - a monitor may have higher brightness spec but look worse than another model with lower brightness spec because the former monitor’s color fidelity degrades at higher brightness levels caused by either the LCD panel or drive electronics saturating at high drive levels or perhaps due to internal video pre-processing - though highly technical, monitor display design is an art.My requirement is clearly legible fine pitch text without eye strain at high resolutions because as a developer I have multiple code editors and CAD programs going simultaneously. Over 30 years I’ve used CRT monitors from 1280x1024 resolution with 0.32 mm pixel pitch and have been waiting for a monitor of this size/quality/resolution. Finally after 3 decades, I consider my wish granted - prophetically on my birthday. The image is bright with very good contrast even though my desk is adjacent to a bright window. That and text rendering quality is about all I care about. I use both MacOS and Windows, I run the monitor at full 5120x2160 resolution, 10pt text is crisp, not pixelated, and perfectly readable - the OSes are rendering text with anti-aliasing, but still. Increasing sharpness from 50% did not improve text rendering quality much for me, but that is subjective and your mileage might be different. No less important is the curvature, which allows an ultra-wide monitor to provide a significantly better subjective experience than a flat ultra-wide monitor. At 40”, a curved monitor is a must, the U4021QW is perfectly curved for my purposes, not too much, not too little.Last but not the least, with more than enough USB ports in most all USB connector flavors, Thunderbolt connectivity, DP/HDMI ports, a built in KVM, and power delivery make this monitor highly user friendly. I finally have a monitor I can use most efficiently with the least amount of dongles, hubs, KVMs or cables running everywhere.I’ve a 4’x6’ desk the monitor totally dominates. Since the monitor is quite large, I benefited from mounting on an monitor arm. That allowed me to maximize aesthetic appeal, desk space, and cable management - Note the minimum 38lb weight requirement of the monitor arm if you install on one.I don’t do graphics design, or photography so I don’t need a wide color gamut, nor require super accurate color fidelity or dynamic range (HDR), so I am not qualified to comment much on those aspects beyond that the color fidelity is more than adequate to my subjective eyes for my purposes, and for many others as well. Not being a gamer I can’t comment on refresh rate either. Now I have to figure out how to finagle one for my work office!
