I did my research before getting a good fully automatic coffee machine. There is so much to say about this one ( and so far all has been great) Dual boiler warm up super quickly, I have to change the temp to low as medium is really hot (some people might like that) . Pros: Hear me out people. Although expensive, other cheap bean to cup do the following. They dispense let's say, 180ml of coffee right? But how it does it is through the same "capsule" of grinded coffee. This washes the all the flavour and also dispenses the bitterness of the coffee in the same cup. On this machine it first pours your desired quantity of water that you can freely adjust from a few ml to a couple of hundreds and then grinds your coffee and dispenses that again, the quantity being very customizable through the. This is the best way to do it whether you enjoy an americano or a shot of expresso. What's not to love?Cons: Haven't found one yet and I hope it will last me a long time.

I would have rated 4.5 Stars as it does lack good programming. It's relatively quiet, water & milk temperatures are both perfect for us and can be adjusted. The coffees we are getting from espresso, cappuccino and latte are better than most coffee shops, we are using Lavazza Espresso Barista Perfetto Coffee Beans. The minor complaint is that with all this automation is should not be rocket science to program the exact coffee I want. We like a large mug of Caff latte for a wake-up call in the morning, not a tiny cup. It should be possible to combine the Long coffee (a pre-set coffee providing two proper shots) with the desired milk to achieve this, however it does not appear to be possible to program more than a single shot. After two weeks, the machine asked to be descaled. I went through this process last Thursday (12/8/21) and it takes approximately half an hour to do. You will not be able to use the machine again until you go through the descaling process when it tells you. The machine gives step by step instructions on what to do and you will need to have a plastic or glass container handy to catch the descaling water. I strongly recommend you watch the Delonghi's YouTube video first on how to descale https//www.youtube.com/watchvERYMSL336xk before attempting. Remember also to buy one or two bottles of genuine Delonghi descaling solution - they cost approximately $22.00 for a 500 ml bottle which is about 5 rounds of descaling as the machine uses 100ml of descaling solution. I can't say at this stage how often I will need to descale. Overall this machine will eliminate the need for you to go out for a coffee saving you a lot of money in the long term.

If the container is handled, inadvertently or inattentively, from the top, the 2 parts easily separate, and the plastic container drops and spills its contents. I hope sometime soon it could have a rubber ring where they join together, acting as a seal, keeping both parts together. Secondly, while it’s great to see frothy milk and foam pouring out while making my cappuccino, it generates steam which rises and settles on the touch screen. This also happens while cleaning the nozzle. This worries me that it might seep through and damage the internal mechanism behind the screen, so I have to keep wiping after each prepared cup.But all things being equal, and considering the pros and cons in the effort of making a great cup of coffee, this is one machine I am grateful for and wouldn’t trade it for any other. I'll just have to be more careful in holding the milk carafe, and make sure to wipe the machine down after use. The PrimaDonna Soul prepares my coffee just the way I want – perfectly. DeLonghi has made the PrimaDonna Soul the star of my kitchen, and I consider myself the primo uomo when preparing my favourite hot beverage.
Frothing only automatic. No manual operation from this machine. Auto froth range is not hot enough and froth is extremely thin (even on max). Ar the end of milk dispersing, nozzle spits milk, which is messy.Coffee making is good with response touch screen. Black coffee - perfect. If you like Flat White, latte, or Cappuccino not the best machine. This model was a replacement. I wish I had been able to try this model before upgrading. I would have paid to have the previous model repaired or chosen an alternative machine.
First machine was faulty ( didn’t recognize water tank was correctly positioned) but Del’Longhi support team easily contactable and extremely helpful confirming fault and the need for machine to be returned. No problems with replacement machine and I’m delighted with the no mess, individualised brew of hot coffee it’s faithfully churning out, without the need to “bang” a portafilter each time to empty coffee grinds. Coffee grinding also much quieter than previous brands I’ve used. As a senior citizen I’m not “in” to unnecessary apps, but instructions how to set up machine manually were very easy and simple to follow, and I had the machine making my perfect brew within 2-3 days, including the ability to quickly add extra hot milk to my drink.

Overall, this coffee machine does all the thinking and work for you so you don't have to, something that's great for a first time coffee machine user like myself. This is truly a top of the line coffee machine and it definitely shows with the quality of coffee it creates and the advanced technology that it uses. Even cleaning the machine wasn't as difficult as I had expected. You can remove the parts easily and put them back in without any problems. That way you can't forget to ready a cup to catch the beverage! It would also have been handy to be able to customise a beverage to include coffee, milk and additional hot water. The machine only allows coffee and milk or coffee and water, not a combination of all three options.The bean hopper holds a generous quantity of coffee beans and is easy to top up. The large water tank is very easy to fill and monitor. Cleaning the machine is quite simple, the drip tray is quick to remove and easy to empty along with the used coffee grinds. The milk container is easily disassembled for cleaning in the dishwasher. In summary, I would recommend this machine. This is evidenced in the fact that we have stopped using our manual machine altogether! Even my dad can use this machine, and he struggled with our manual machine!
