They sharpen easy, which I like. Other brands I have used, when you try to sharpen them, you end up with a tiny pencil by the time ypu get them sharpened. Pencils came already sharpened to mostly perfect points. Comes with 12 colors, mostly core colors with added black, white, and extra light/dark shades of red, blue, and green. Packaging is stunning photo of parrot, gives good idea of colors provided and their appropriate uses. Colors are very vibrant and color smoothly & solidly. I used them on a coloring book for Adults, and was able to quickly shade most of the page. Handles hard pressure well. I did have to go purchase a pencil sharpener after breaking the denim blue, but that speaks to me wanting to continue using this solid and affordable product.

I use the Chromaflow pencils for coloring. They have a very smooth laydown, don't break easily, sharpen nicely, layer beautifully and blend very well. They're a pleasure to use. I originally bought the 24-pack when that was the largest set available. When Derwent released the 72-set, I immediately purchased that set. I recommend them for all colorists who want a lovely, well-pigmented, durable and comfortable-to-use pencil for their hobby.

I really enjoy coloring in adult coloring books to help focus and relax, so I am thankful to have added Derwent Chromaflow Colored Pencils to my collection. I typically use my Prismacolors, so I am surprised these are a little more pricey despite having fewer colors. The 24 colors arrive pre-sharpened and neatly organized into two trays, and I appreciated that they are numbered for organization or planning colors for a project. I've been using this set for a month now and haven't experienced any snapping points when resharpening. I also put a lot of pressure when coloring on my pencils and these stand up without breaking! I would have liked it if the Chromacolor wood casing as thicker to protect the core better as the Colorsoft casing does. I would also like to know the light fast ratings for the Chromacolor pencils. I've drawn sphere using each set and they both came out well. Both feel good when using them, however the anger girth on the Colorsoft feels more comfortable. I like both very much they are both fun to use! Both blend and layer well for me. I've read that some influences take issue with Colorsoft layering capability but I get lots of layer from both the Chromaflow and the Colorsoft. Pencils are good and as expected. Remind me of prismacolors. Love the Derwent colorsoft much better as well as Derwent lightfast. I like the fatter grip of the other Derwent pencils. Chromoflows are skinny pencils.
Most basic colored pencils are hard like a normal pencil and really don't color or blend well.Chromaflow pencils have a soft lead for easy coloring and blending. I really love these.The best part? They are so much more affordable than the PrismaColor pencils that I usually buy.I usually use pencils for my own drawings and art but I colored a bit of a coloring page just to showcase the pencils. Normally I hate coloring books, I prefer to do my own art as opposed to coloring someone else's.
Honestly I don't know if the pencils it's self or I got unlucky and got a bad batch but they were terrible...The colors were good, they were smooth. BUT the wood quality sucked . Especially when I was sharping would notice, also they were very light of a pencil compared to others . And on top of that the pencils core KEPT ON BREAKING on me!! I have sharpened most of them half way down because the core kept on breaking on me or it slipped out. It's was not my money due to the poor quality
I purchased the Chromaflow 24 set in Aug 2021 but rarely use them. I had one pencil break the first time I used it and another broke three times!! I was trying to get a sharp point so I had to push a little harder to sharpen and then I heard the dreaded "CRACK" When I pulled it out of the sharpener I tested the pigment and it was loose. I tried to use it but it completely broke below the wood line. I lost 1/4 of that pencil just resharpening it. I wouldn't recommend these pencils.
