OK, not all Dewalt tools are great, but a lot of them are, and their cordless line in particular gets great reviews. This is their top-of-the-line cordless model oscillating tool, and it works great for the occasional use of a plumber, and I would expect will work great for more regular use. Multiple speed settings. Brushless motor. Lock-able trigger. LED forward-projecting light. etc.Get a good quality metal cutting blade if you need it. I recommend the universal fit carbide-tipped Dremel blades, the ones with the double "star" ends [MM485U, MM485BU], they fit Dewalt.Pros:- Quality name-brand, and acts like it. This is Dewalt's top-of-the-line model as of Q1 2021.- The price includes tool, battery, battery charger and tool bag. This is Dewalt's top-of-the-line model as of Q1 2021.- The price includes tool, battery, battery charger and tool bag. Also: two basic blades. Great deal! I got this kit for less than the cost of the bare tool!Meh- The battery is small for the 20V Max line (1.5 AH), but this is not a power-hog tool. I expect it will run for well over an hour continuous operation with that battery. Much higher power batteries are available, up to 12 AH, though they are expensive.- The "universal blade attachment kit" that comes with it is a little hinky in function. The blade "vibrates" loose after a few seconds and so you have to keep re-tightening (concerns me that I might be OVER-tightening) the universal attachment bolt. Definitely don't like using it. Definitely prefer blades made to fit the tool's quick-release connector.Cons- The biggest con is that Dewalt (and I believe also Porter-Cable) are the only brands that use this particular blade connect configuration, and so you can't just buy any brand of blade and expect it to fit. [Note: despite everyone and their kid brother claiming "universal fitment".] For example: the "regular" Dremel "universal fit" blades don't fit this tool, but the double-star-end Dremels do. Most of Dewalt's blades are good quality, but their carbide metal-cutting blades get so-so reviews. I use the Dremel's (part numbers listed previously) for metal cutting.

Given 3 stars because the first tool failed. Light blinked and unit wouldn't accept a charge. Problem with buying a holiday kit is that the supply is limited. They didn't have another one where the first one was purchased. I had to drive 20+ miles to get another one. The 2nd one has performed well. I used the tool for grout removal, trimming ceramic tile, and cutting through cement board.

Tool works great. Blades dull very quickly.I used the tool to cut out the bottom, 3/4” of an installed cabinet. I needed to cut about 2 1/2 linear feet. I went through two blades (only had the two it came with) and needed to really work both beyond life expectancy to finish the job. Tool is really a 5 star, blades are junk. Dewalt should really do better.

I bought this oscillating tool to replace the corded version that I just sold, and have added it to my collection of DeWalt's other fine 20v Max cordless tools. I love the size and weight of it and the better ergonomics of the handle compared to my old one, plus this one has three speeds that can be selected while retaining the variable speed trigger. That helps limit the top speed to one of three settings which helps you not have to worry about over-speed depending on what you are cutting or sanding. My biggest gripe is that on the product description it is listed as being "Made In USA", but when I received it, the box had a label on the outside stating "Made In Mexico". While not a deal-breaker, I was quite disappointed. While not a deal-breaker, I was quite disappointed. I looked on the tool itself also, and sure enough it says right on the label "MADE IN MEXICO".I'm sure the tool will work fine, and it has the same warranty as one made here in the US, but I didn't support our economy or workers in the same way as I would have if it had indeed been made here. Kinda bummed out now.Just be warned if you see that sign and it makes you feel good enough to go ahead and buy it just on that basis alone. It's a great tool, don't get me wrong, but it's just not "Made In USA" like some other of DeWalt's 20v Max tools.
I am a 56 year old woman that has started to purchase my own tools. I purchased this to sand window trim. Made my job a lot easier. I purchased the sanding attachment separately. I can tell that I am going to get a lot of use with this. It is also very easy to use!!!
To get this set to the $99 price point, a few things are reduced. The battery pack is only 1.5 amp capacity, something they neglect to tell you here on the website. When you go looking for spare batteries, you'll see why this is important as they cost a fortune. There are only a couple of blades included, no guide, and no sanding attachment. The $199 set has a 2 amp pack, more blades, the guide. and the sanding attachment with pads. I went to the store to buy the $99 unit only to be told it was a Black Friday deal only. They gave me 15% off on the $199 unit, and I bought the $99 unit online for the spare battery and charger.
This is a fantastic tool, the quick change blades work great. It is actually lighter and has more power than my old one it replaced. This is one of the tools that is helpful in so many jobs. Just used it to cut out old pocket door metal track. Made a terrible job a 10 minute job. This is my second Dewalt tool and I have been very happy with both.
We’ve been doing some work on our office and this tool has helped us a tremendous amount. Its been used to cut carpet, ceiling tile, rivets, and sand cabinets. Its a great multitoolYou may not think you have a need for it, but there will come a time you can use it and you will slowly see yourself grabbing this more and more. The variable trigger is great as you can get any speed you need. If you have a long cut or process you can pull the trigger for max speed on selected setting and push the lock button. Then you can carry on giving your finger a break. It has a quick change head which is great for blade adjustments or changing tool heads. You can’t go wrong with this tool. Im typically a kobalt fan but in this area i would go Dewalt. Unfortunately not the tool for me this time. Two stars because it was on sale and I didn't pay full retail price. The variable speed and being cordless is great. The zippered bag is nice. The battery charged quickly. My oscillating tool jaws fully close with no gap when there is no blade installed. The oscillating tool jaws do not fully close and there is a gap when using the included blade. The clamping teeth or cogs are almost triangular instead of rectangular. If the jaws fully closed against both flats on the cutter the performance would be better with less vibration. My other corded oscillator closes tight against both flats on the cutter and is very quiet by comparison. The excess noise and vibration and tool shape are undesirable for my needs and the tool is ... MoreUnfortunately not the tool for me this time. Very glad I tried it on scrap wood before ruining a project. The lower amp hour battery is more functional than I expected.
I bought this tool to do some dry wall work on my ceiling. It worked fantastically. Made it easy to cut straight lines and trim the new panels that went in. Saved me so much time and frustration. I should have gotten this tool earlier. It is easy to use one handed and cuts well. The light works well to illuminate the work area. It was light enough to work over head without much heft. The cutting blade mounts without a tool which made it easy. Battery lasted long enough to do all the work I needed. I am very pleased with this tool.
