Just as advertised. Exceedingly easy to remove Brad jams. My previous Brad nailer was designed making it both time consuming and tedious to remove jammed Brads. Reasonably priced and appears well made. Does the job very well. Would definitely buy again though I have had the nailer for only several weeks.

This is a great, lightweight brad nailer. I got it as an alternative to my cordless DeWalt Brad nailer, which is convenient but an absolute tank at twice the weight of this nailer. I wish it came with a swiveling hose fitting, but I easily added that for only a few bucks. Highly recommended.

I needed an 18ga nailer as my faithful Bostitch was running its last leg. I went to HD and bought the DWFP12233. When I got home I opened the box and to my surprise the nailer came with a fixed air fitting Instead of the swivel adapter on the display model at HD (see pic). Worst yet Dewalt did NOT include the extra no-Maring tips or even the tool belt clip. Why why why DeWalt? Is it a quality control issue for the missing accessories? I hate to think you are cheaping out on two no-Maring tips, a swivel adapter and a belt clip.I have bought several DeWalt Tools from drills, saws, lasers and never had QC issues. Why now, and from reading the rest of the reviews the missing accessories is a common occurrence. If it’s a QC issue it shouldn’t take that long to fix it. ... MoreI needed an 18ga nailer as my faithful Bostitch was running its last leg. I went to HD and bought the DWFP12233. This brad nailer has always been a bit frustrating even when it was brand new out the box. From not always firing the brad nails straight, frequent jamming, to refusing to fire if there are less than 10 brad nails in the chamber. But once it started firing 5 crooked nails to every straight one I have finally given up. Just bought a new one from a different tool brand. Love Dewalt tools but you couldn't pay me enough to use this brad nailer again.
I love this gun. I am a beginner in doing trim (DIY only) and love the features of this gun as compared to some cheaper models that come with certain air compressor combo kits. Note this particular gun does come with the Dewalt 6 gallon pancake compressor and 50 ft air hose combo kit. Why do I love this gun? Well let me count the ways. First, I love the precision point tip. I started by using the Porter Cable guns that came with the compressor combo kit. Found it very hard to actually know where your nail was going. It's so easy to use this gun and position the tip. Second, love the swivel fitting (although you could retro-fit this to any gun). Third, love the belt clip. This comes in handy when doing something high up and you need your hands to position the wood ... MoreI love this gun. Second, love the swivel fitting (although you could retro-fit this to any gun). Third, love the belt clip. This comes in handy when doing something high up and you need your hands to position the wood but don't want to set the gun down or squeeze it between your legs. Just hook it on your tool belt. Fourth, the nail slide is super easy to load. Just squeeze the little lever and open it up, put in nails, and pop it closed. Fifth, really didn't seem to blast air in my face like the Porter Cable gun. Sixth, seems small and compact yet so mighty. In doing casing around windows and doors it seemed like having two 18 gauge nailers was ideal - one with short nails (an inch or so) to do the inner trim which isn't very deep and goes straight into the window or jamb extension, and then one with a longer nail (max this ones goes is 2-1/8 inch) to do the outer side which is thicker and needs to go through dry wall. An 18 gauge nailer leaves a noticeably smaller hole which when puttying and clear coating is very nice, especially on lighter, more natural stain colors where holes are quite visible.
I used this to rebuild some kitchen drawers. I wanted something inexpensive but good quality - this was perfect. The air coupler is the default 1/4" industrial; I switched it over to 3/8 automotive type, which works no problem (that's the size I use). Then I loaded it with brads, and got to work. This is a simple tool to use.Loading is easy, squeeze the load button and slide the bar back, drop in brads, close it.I used 90 psi at my regulator. It took a few brads to get the depth correct. The depth adjustment works, but there is no reference point - no marks, no feedback (i.e. it does not get tigheter as you turn it), no nothing, so it's completely arbitrary. It's also a very tiny wheel, hard to turn. Considering that this is something that gets used a lot, it ... MoreI used this to rebuild some kitchen drawers. It's also a very tiny wheel, hard to turn. Considering that this is something that gets used a lot, it should be a larger, more robust adjuster. Once you get it set, it is very repeatable, but it can be a challenge to get it set right. The working end is narrow enough that you can get in some tight corners. It is easy to see the workpiece, and the brads end up where you expect they will. Bump feed works great, as does manual feed. Trigger has a good feel, and I never had an accidental fire. I've only used max 1-1/2 inch brads so far, but this nailer seems to have good power. I was able to fully drive them into even hard maple - I had some fun and drove brads into a lot of scrap wood. Aside from the odd depth adjustment, I think this is a well built tool.
Nailer shot the very first nail (1-3/4") perfectly, and each nail thereafter. Happened to already be set at the right finished depth, so no additional manual set necessary, although the depth is simple to adjust. Light and easy to use; I'm delighted so far. Contrary to many complaints from other reviewers, the extra soft tips ARE provided (already stored on the right rear of the nailer itself.)
I bought this because my old 18 gauge nailer only went up to 1 /3/8" nails, where this will go up to 2". I liked the no mar tip and the fact that they provide 2 extra tips is nice. I installed quarter round moulding with it and it worked great, once I adjusted to the correct nail depth. It is light weight and worked well. The only issues I have is that it doesn't have a swivel end as show on the Home Depot display. The window for the nails is OK, I wish it was a little further back so you had a few more than 6-10 nails before you ran out. The only other point is the belt clip with the pencil sharpener was a not practical. The sharpener didn't work and it added too much depth so the clip was not secure on my tool belt. After looking at the display model at HD several different times I decided to purchased the DWFP12233 18 ga brad air gun. ( I have been using Bostitch brand nailers for over 18 years and removing a jammed nail can be a pain). So a new gun it was. After opening the Dewalt case I noticed no sample nails, swivel air adapter or extra tips. The next thing I noticed was the belt clip was much smaller and has a plastic catch/release that holds it on the gun, the one on display had a metal catch/release, swivel air adapter and a more robust clip. The magazine release was black and the one on display was yellow. All this aside I put in some 1 1/4" nails and gave it a test. Only shot about 10 nails @ 80 psi, the nail heads were just below the surface. One nail for some reason decided to find a different path and stuck out of the side of the 2 x10. Could have been my fault but I will test it more at a later date when I have a project. I do not want to waste at lot of nails just to see if it will pass or fail. Manual states to set pressure lower than 80 psi. I will see how this works on driving 2 in nails in hardwood, my older Bostitch will handle 100 psi and hardwood with no problems. Yes, I understand that some Bostitch and Dewalt are now basically the same, even made at the same sites. The manual states never to use lubricants/solvents inside tool or it can seriously reduce life. This is different. The package states 7 year warranty as does the Dewalt website, I hope to never find out.
After only a few days use in my professional shop it was apparent that there was a major problem with this product. It would not fire brads consistently. After reload it would fire one or two then no more. Press the trigger ten times after opening the magazine to position the brads and I would get only one nail firing. I took it to the factory repair shop where it resided for over a month. Got it back to find the same problem. Examining the mechanics of the operation closely I find that the nails rebound out of alignment in the magazine (there is nothing to prevent this) so that the nail next up is not properly positioned under the plunger in order to be struck by the plunger and put into the wood.I am trying to get my money back. Since I am two weeks past the 90 day return policy of Home Depot (even though it was in the factory repair shop for 6 weeks), I cannot return it to Home Depot, and must now try to get a refund from Dewalt. Good luck to me. I don't want this gun any more. It seems to be generally a decent product for a decent price, but if it does not do the job, it is not worth crap.
