The DeWalt Flex Torq 3/8 adapter is a very versatile 90 degree attachment for an impact driver. This adapter can fit into tight locations when it needs to and still allow you to use your impact. I used this on a lawn tractor and was able to remove bolts in a tight location with no issues. This allowed me to use my impact in a place I would have normally used a ratchet or other wrench. As a user of many Dewalt tools in my garage/shop, I was expecting this tool to be rugged and durable. I found it to be handy and useful in many light duty situations. However, in several situations that required heavy use, it became hot to the touch. Also the handle was too small for my hand to be of much use. The selection of plastic in several key components will lend themselves to fatigue and early breakage, thus making the tool unusable. Overall it works well for light duty use

I used my Dewalt Flex Torq 3/8 that i recently received to remove the head on my 50 hp Force outboard boat motor for a blown head gasket and thermostat repair. My 12v cordless rachet with interchangeable head did not have the power to crack them loose without using it as a normal rachet which made me nervous about thread damage. And no place for an air impact. So because of limited space for some of the bolts. I grab my Dewalt impact and flex torq 3/8. They were removed with some of them definitely needing the hammering of the impact driverin no time at all with no thread damage even with 4 stubborn ones 2 of them with limited space without removal of motor housing that's where the small head really worked good for the removal.The great thing about the Flex Torq ... I was intrigued when I saw this 3/8 right angle adapter. The issue with using a traditional 1/4” with a socket adapter is clearance in confined spots. Right away I was impressed. It is smooth and with the optional side handle easy to keep inline with the bolt. In addition, if there is not enough space the extension can be attached which also acts as a handle. Overall, the modular design is smart and easy to change. It has a permanent spot in my impact tool box and am looking forward to using it.
I recently added this tool to my kit and love it. I needed to unbolt a piece of machinery from its stand and the bt was in a recessed pocket in the steel base so I couldn't use a wrench. The space was crowded with parts that would make a traditional socket wrench a tedious task. I hooked up my impact drill motor to this little guy a d went to town. Done in only a few seconds. I love it. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for easier ways to deal with bolts or nuts in small spaces
This attatchment is perfect for getting at bolts in cramped spaces or at awkward angles. As someone who is starting to develop arthritis in my hands, I opt to use power tools whenever possible. This weekend I was under a car dealing with a bolt that I'd normally break out the ratchet for, due to there not being enough clearance to get the impact driver up in there, but this attatchment got the job done and in a fraction of the time. I wasn't able to get a photo of that particular bolt because of the difficulties that come with being confined under a vehicle, but I took a couple of photos of illustrative examples with better lighting. I really like the new modularity, there were a few times, with the older one I have, where it was a little too long. I saw that they also have an extension for this product if you need a little more reach. The attachment/detachment process is quick and easy, just lift a little lever in the front and turn the head less than a 1/4 turn. The handle has a small storage space within it, I'm not sure what to put in there just yet, but it's a cool feature to have. The rubber overmoulding on the sides and back of the body are going to help with maintaining a grip if you have grease or oil on your hands. The only possible negative I can really see is that the body and handle collar cannot be used in conjunction nor is the body threaded to accept the handle, so if you have a reason to desire that functionality then you may be bummed out to hear that. I personally don't foresee needing that myself so it didn't impact my rating of the product, just thought I'd mention it to cover all of the bases for everyone. I think this is a great attatchment to have for anyone who uses a ratchet as part of their workflow, just bear in mind that it's rated for an impact driver not an impact wrench so I wouldn't go trying to break loose those large bolts with high torque values.
Great attachment for basically any project you have going on. I used my for a real tight spot on my car that without this attachment a would of had to remove more parts and spend more time and work. It's definitely a time saver. It's perfect for mechanical or anything that you need a socket for. I also used it to put up racks on wall that the only way to tighten up screws would of been with a wrench,but thanks to this DeWalt attachment I was able to get on real tight places with no problem. I would definitely recommend it,it's small and light for your impact
