They burn for hours, and they have a variety of amazing scents. The lavender is my favorite, I just love lavender I find it very soothing. I grew up in a family that loves lavender. As we are city folks, we will always make a stop at lavender fields each time we travel abroad and a long deep whiff of this unlit candle from Diptyque, transports me back to those fields. Exactly what I needed during this time. It smells exactly like how crushed lavender leave smell in between your fingers. I love the surprising green uplifting fresh scent that has been missing in all other lavender essential oil candles I have bought over the years. Hello to my forever lavender candle and to Diptyque, please do not ever discontinue this one. Nothing boring nor old fashioned about this candle at all!
I LOVE the smell of lavender. The true smell of lavender not the granny perfumed smell. The smell of walking in a fresh field of lavender. Reading the description of this scent I thought it would smell like unfiltered pressed lavender: flower, stem and leaves. Unfortunately whilst it is fresh and smell like lavender I was really disappointed as its not as potent as it could have been. I was expecting the whole room to smell like lavender within seconds of opening the candle and it only has a gentle lavender smell. It's a good candle from Diptique in the herbal family but I was disappointed the smell wasn't stronger. I don't think I will repurchase as I think there are better fragrances in the Diptique family which are more unique and perform better.
I love Diptyque for it's quality long lasting scents and this candle certainly doesn't disappoint. If you want your room to smell of Fresh French lavender, this is the one for you. Not overpowering, not old lady lavender smelling but a sophisticated, clean summer scent (or all year round if you're like me.Burns evenly. Makes for a fantastic gift even if you're unsure of the fragrances the recipient may like. This is a safe bet.
This probably my favourite lavender scent. It's not overly sweet but to my nose almost has a woody scent to it too. I have the small size and find it scents the bedroom perfectly. It's a very relaxing scent.The jar looks lovely as all diptyque do - simple and classy. Would make a lovely gift.
This is lovely candle - smell is just heavenly now were coming into the warmer months. Very clean smelling, like walking through lavender hillsides in the South Of France! I like to burn this in the evening before bed and its quite relaxing and on separate note the bugs don't like it - so you don't end up with a room full of midges! As usual long lasting and even burn from Diptyque, layers lovely with Jasmine or Verveine - will continue to use.
This took a few burns to get the scent going, I was worried initially that it was too subtle too notice but now appreciate the very subtle lavender scent that has a strong green element to it - it is called field of lavender for a reason, the hints of lavender are interspersed with a very noticeable green scent of fresh lavender plants. I love it, however be aware it is not your typical ‘heavy’ lavender scented candle. I think when I eventually repurchase I’d want the 190g size due to the subtlety of the scent, the 70g is best for quite small spaces.
I bought the travel size version of this for a holiday in Cornwall with a large gathering of guests. I used it upstairs so the bedrooms would be fragranced with lavender. The scent was lovely and pure, but did not permeate as well as other Diptyque candles.
