Triple A batteries??? For 75 years buying a 6v lantern meant getting a large 6v battery with many hours of illumination/month worth of uses. Now four AAA batteries that last an evening. Somewhat of a bait and switch.

Inexpensive lantern. Can be powered by four AA batteries (included) or one 6V lantern battery. Bright white LED with small reflector gives a smooth 100 lumen spot. Little spill. These retail for $7.95 and are reasonable value at that price. If you are willing to pay more, there are better options.

Great light for camping or power outages. New ones come with 4AA, but can also use a regular 6V battery. AA's lasted two nights as a lantern. Light output is also good, comparable to my older maglite just with a better run time.

Dorcy 41-2097 Weather-Resistant-Floating-Lantern-100-Lumen-w-LED-Spotlight is a very well designed, economical and useful product. The fact that it uses the long lasting 6 volt battery or the double A (4 each) batteries is really great. The LED light sends a good beam of light to illuminate the target area. Very useful, inexpensive, adaptor for different batteries, batteries came with mine, what more could a person want in a lantern. I really like the 2 that I bought for our home. I do highly recommend this product.
Dorcy 6V LED Lantern, Product #399-3532-8It is bright, lightweight and floats on water; however, it is not waterproof (product info never stated it though). Water did find its way between the bezel and lens. You have to dry thoroughly the inside, especially the inner switch if you plan to use it again.Overall, I am happy that I bought it when it was on sale (50%) and does lights up any space in our campsite.
The biggest advantage of these flashlight lanterns is they can use 4aa batteries or one 6v lantern battery. In either case batteries last a long time as there is only one bulb to power, and it's mighty bright. Plus, they're waterproof and float if dropped in water. For 10 bucks, these lanterns are a great standby. I keep one in the car and one at home. Unless you really wanted a flashlight that could be tucked in a pocket, I'm unsure why you would want anything else for household use.
I bought one & after I spread the word on its quality & versatile choice battery option ( WHO KNOWS ) ? THANK YOU Dollar General for this ( GREAT PRODUCT )
It is light wait and does not take big bulky batteries. Works Great!!!
Delighted with price, quality and quality of Product. Have moved to Northern Ontario and needed light for auto-dysfunction or problems. Found a good products at a reasonable price to be used for one purpose. This makes it very affordable for my needs.
I also spent a ton of time trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. Thankfully I got online to read some reviews and learned that you have to remove the black thimble like cover from the top of the battery. Then it all worked just as expected. I just feel pretty dumb. Glad I'm not the only one that had this trouble.
