These are waaay more stiff and slightly smaller than the regular leather jadon platform boots. I definitely love the mono-tone color and they don’t got dirty or scuff easily which is an improvement from my white Jadon boots. The sizing on these however is veryyy different, definitely much smaller. I’m a 7 1/2 and got 7 and almost thought they sent me the wrong size because of how small they feel compared to my regular leather docs. They loosened up over time but definitely wear with a thick sock to prevent blisters.

Bonus is that there is both a zipper and adjustable laces for easy on and off. I'm 6'5" tall and I work in the Techno and House Music Night Life industry so these were meant for me! I wear them to work from like 10PM till like 8AM with no problem. I never got the feeling that I was so tall until I wore these babies. It makes me feel sexy, confident and comfortable. This is my first pair of docs and I couldn’t wait to get them. I’ve had them for a couple months now and I’ve been wearing them everyday since I got them. They took about 2 (?) weeks to break them in but now they’re very comfortable. I love them so much. The shoe laces do get untied pretty frequently and I have to re tighten them through out the day but I might just get other ones, haven’t gotten around to it yet. Other than that, no complaints! I recommend buying these, they’re amazing.
I'm a size 10.5 and I ordered a size 10. The fit is good, and the boot is solid and seems resilient. It also looks great, which is a plus. Two issues, however. The first is that the lip of the boot at the top is not padded at all, so unless you have tall socks to go along with it, expect there to be very painful chafing. I learned this the hard way. The other issue is that the boot does restrict your speed and movement, so if you're planning to walk briskly or run at all, these are probably not the boots for you.
I LOVE the fact that Doc Marten's is making vegan options, but the boots were insanely stiff & with the strict return policy of sending them back 'un-worn', that doesn't leave any room to see if you can 'break them in.' Also, with no half sizes, this might have helped, as my toes were almost touching the end, I ordered a 7, as reviews said they ran big and if that was true, then I thought if I ordered an 8, they would be way too large. In hindsight, maybe an 8 would have been good, as I have been wearing 7.5 in other shoes. But still, breaking them in is a big factor and for $200, I could not risk damaging them and not being able to return them, so I was sort of stuck in between a rock and a hard place. These looked amazing online but in reality they are heavier and clunkier than I would have guessed. The material really dug into my ankles and the vegan leather was very stiff overall. Also, I thought they would be zip on but you do actually need to tie them closed. The front is open quite far down the tongue of the shoe so I can’t imagine them being warm at all on colder days. I was expecting more of a slip on/off with a faux lace up and zip close. Was really hoping to love these but I had to return them:(
I have worn Dr Martens for a while now. I have found the best way to “break” them in. These just don’t breathe as nice as the other. I understand their vegan buttt I was still expecting better quality for the amount of money. My DSW under $60 wear wayy more comfortable than these do. I didn’t want to return them for the hassle. So I’m stuck with uncomfortable cute expensive boots.

Also, where each side with the lace holes, the gap between the two panels is way too wide, which is another tell these boots are not the size marked/stated/printed. I’d exchange them for another pair of size 13 U.S. but im afraid they’ll send me another pair thats too small. I’d order a size 14 U.S. but if Doc Marten sends me a true size, they’ll be too big! Been wearing them out for 3 weeks now, never felt such relief to take a shoe off the moment I get home as I have with these. I am a 9.5 but got the 9 because they run large, it fits my foot size well but where the laces end there is a very tight stitch that comes down too low and tight leaving marks every time no matter how thick my socks or how much I stretch them out with glass bottles when I'm not wearing them.
