Dremel 3000 JC Multitool Clear

Came really fast in 1-2 days, setup was a little confusing because the manual is not the best at explaining to a non-engineer adult. \n\nGot the dremel to grind my dogs nails! Works like a charm. Only drawback is the loud vibration n sounds which future doggo owners will need to train their doggo to be comfortable! Good buy esp w 11.11 sale! Worth it!

Delivery took six days despite being local. Three days just to pack and handover to courier. Yet it was only packed in a thin plastic bag, box was crushed. As Dremel official store, you could certainly do better than counterfeit.\n\nDremel quality is good as usual. Wired tool saves you trouble from replacing old batteries and provide consistent high power. Complements my other battery-operated Dremel. Seems good so far.\n\nStorage box has no compartments for bits, just a regular box with a big logo.

Avoid!!

I bought this in August this year (2023) to replace a Dremel which finally gave up the ghost after probably around 15 years of extensive use. After around 4 uses it packed up completely - there is no thermal cutout on this model (I had assumed it had overheated). I had it replaced under warranty with the same model - which packed up after just 2 uses!I Googled the problem to find this issue went back to users as far as 2014 (even YouTube has videos showing how to repair the problem). Having contacted Bosch (who now own Dremel) they have, to be fair, offered to replace this with a higher spec model - I only hope there is no issue with this one. Rather disappointing bearing in mind Dremel's strong reputation.

Dremel multi tool

Excellent for what I need. I'm using it in my jeweĺlery making but I reckon I'll get loads of other uses from it as well. I'll have to add to the kit though, as the small amount of accessories it comes with are not enough to do much with. Also, when you're changing the bits the lock button can stick a little, but I have read this happens and it isn't a problem as long as you don't over tighten in the first place. I think the multi chuck or a mini collet kit is best to buy alongside this, as then you can use lots of different bits and accessories with it. Great buy overall.

Excellent bit of kit - great value

If you are wondering, 'yes', this is powerful enough for most projects.I'm a DIYer and my Missus makes crafts. I found that this has a very powerful motor, which can be stepped down for delicate jobs. I used it recently to engrave some wood and to cut a 'slot' in a screw cross head (using other Dremel attachments), which worked perfectly and gives you an idea of how powerful it is.I would definitively recommend this set.To change the attachments you need to press a button and use the small tool, but this is no great hardship and very easy to do.The case is sturdy and has room to put in other extras you might buy.

Would mention that having owned several of these, a common fault is 'switch failure', leading to units stopping abruptly. Examination has revealed a major design fault -- the fan actually draws machining dust INTO the switch, causing the problem. To save the expense of a new switch, simply dismantle the shell, (see YOUTUBE home-repair video) and blow dust out with the aid of a soft brush. Otherwise, these units are quite satisfactory for light work. Servicing facilities practically unavailable in UK since Brexit. Regards < calacu-epyhxx

Great little tool

Bought it to cut off some exhaust bolts which were in an awkward place and rusted on. The tool comes with some discs but I would advise you grab some of the metal cutting discs. There are some that require a quick release mandrel which is not in this kit. You will have to buy that.It took about five minutes to do the job but would have been quicker if I could have done a straight cut. I would recommend giving the tool plenty of breaks to cool down - I let it cool off for a few minutes regularly. It went through six discs but to be fair it was a very tough job.I love it, chopped off the old hangers too it was quick and powerful enough

Great multi tool!

I bought this for some small carving work, but it is so versatile I’ve used it for wood work and carving some marble tops! Great for when you need more delicate touches to your DIY projects. Great price at Screwfix too!

Perfect for the job

It also came with other attachments that I will use fir so many other jobs around the house and in a zip storage pouch to store safely and keep clean and organised , it’s light weight and easy to use and because of its size and be kept close at handPurchased it with my discount card too , so very good value for money . broke after a week

Worked Great. For a week. Then died.Lots of 'repair videos' on YT on simple fix for Dremel 3000, tried this to no avail.Fault entails a single strand of copper wire on the internal copper drum which breaks with use, if you are handy with soldering you may be able to fix.Seems like a flimsy design, there is no stress tolerance.
