Explore the mega-dungeon of Undermountain in this adventure for the world’s greatest roleplaying game. In the city of Waterdeep rests a tavern called the Yawning Portal, named after the gaping pit in its common room. At the bottom of this crumbling shaft is a labyrinthine dungeon shunned by all but the most daring adventurers. Known as Undermountain, this dungeon is the domain of the mad wizard Halaster Blackcloak. Long has the Mad Mage dwelt in these forlorn depths, seeding his lair with monsters, traps, and mysteries—to what end is a constant source of speculation and concern. – The follow up to Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, Dungeon of the Mad Mage takes adventurers deep into one of D&D’s biggest dungeons. Each of Undermountain’s twenty-three levels is an adventure setting unto itself, and the book includes a map for each one. – Waterdeep, known as the City of Splendors, is one of D&D’s most iconic locations. Also the setting for the board game Lords of Waterdeeep, it’s the jewel of the Sword Coast—a sprawling melting pot held together by firm laws and swift justice. – Dungeon of the Mad Mage is the second of two Dungeons & Dragons books set in Waterdeep. It picks up where the first, Dragon Heist, leaves off, taking characters of 5th level or higher all the way to 20th level. – In D&D, you and your friends coauthor you own legend. Guided by a Dungeon Master, you create characters and play their roles in a story, rolling dice and navigating maps as you unfold a tale as limitless as your imagination. – Dungeons & Dragons is the world’s greatest roleplaying game. Created in 1974, D&D transformed gaming culture by blending traditional fantasy with miniatures and wargaming.

Cheaper on Amazon. Description says it is multi-color and the pictures show painted miniatures, but they are not painted.

This review is for the Dungeons & Dragons: Waterdeep – Dungeon of the Mad Mage board game. Firstly, this is not a dungeon-crawl game, but a very decent and simple melding of co-op, crowd-control, and push-your-luck with D&D characters. Best played as a full campaign. Keeping things interesting while also keeping sessions short (60-90 minutes). The component quality, specifically the miniatures, is good and the core mechanic is much similar to the previous D&D Adventure System board games. My gaming group have enjoyed the new monsters and challenges in this set.Unfortunately, I have to take a star off of my review because of a few errata in the game which we had to go and dig up on the BoardGameGeek forums. Dungeon of the Mad mage is innovative, quick to learn, tactically challenging but above all, fun.I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the figures. Well worth a purchase.

Excellent Light weight Dungeon Crawler
11 January 2021

Dungeon of the Mad Mage continues the line of D&D Adventure board games from the past. It is a very fluid, and easy game to learn. Highly recommend for families even if they are not avid players of Dungeons and Dragons.

Fun and easy set up.

Fun Game, easy to play, easy to set up.A few mistakes in the rules, but there is an errata sheet to get online, and they don't impact the game too severely. The figure are okay, not great but not bad either. They are durable though, soft plastic, the light green figures don't take paint well even after washing with dish soap, but the dark blue one's paint up just fine.

Great game with awesome characters and miniatures!
19 July 2021

I have all of the DnD board games like this and really enjoy them. The game is fun and a nice dungeon explorer type game with DnD elements. Miniatures, even unpainted, are nice and make great additions to any campaign.Side note: I bought a brick of 8 booster packs and was able to add almost all of the painted versions of the miniatures that are in the game - although being random boosters, it will vary!

One of the best Adventure System Board Game in D&D setting!
26 June 2022

This Board Game is great! All components have very good quality, and miniatures are the best of them. The complete adventure is very fun and extraordinary! Most of all I'm pleasured that this Game is compatible with all D&D Adventure System Board Games. Also You can to use Its components to prepare Your own D&D Adventure!
