I Love this pedal. I run this from an earth Quaker Devices "Swiss Things" and it works flawlessly!the smaller size is perfect for any size foot and or board. It's very smooth and stays put when needed, easy to adjust and function. Some do not like the tread but for me It's perfect no matter what shoes, boots or bare feet I use.It also has a robust build quality to it, it's just a cool up to date volume pedal everyone should hav on their board.OH AND BEST OF ALL.... no more busting strings and bands :-) this is the future of volume pedals

If using a volume pedal is a big part of your sound, I don't know if this is for you. If you're that person, then you probably already know the big volume pedal you want and should just get that one. For the rest of us, who use volume and expression pedals sparingly, this thing is really great. It doesn't take up a ton of space on your board and even though it is small, it actually feels natural rocking it back and forth. I use it as an expression pedal for my HX Stomp, and it works amazingly for volume swells, wah-wah and the occasional whammy when I feel like arming the homeless.

I was in the market for volume pedal that would fit on my pedalboard and the MXR DVP4 is perfect. Solid construction and works great. It's been on my board for about a month and have not had any issues. Does swells really smoothly and has a solid feel under my foot. Definitely my desert island volume pedal.

Just because you have big feet doesn't mean your volume pedal needs to be just as big. Pedalboard space is precious and very limited, so the Dunlop mini volume pedal is a perfect solution. I got back enough space to add another effect to pedal! The pedal works as needed and had an adjustablev esistance to customize the feel you want. One complaint is that velcro doesn't stick well to the flat rubber bottom. While is is good on the floor, on a pedalboard, I had to unscrew it and flip it inside out. The metal plate worked well with the velcro sticker...problem solved.
This lovely little pedal is perfect for people with crowded boards. It's small size took some getting used to but with some time it felt pretty normal and I have a size 11 foot. The adjustable tension feature is easily the best part about this pedal. It's really satisfying having to put some effort into volume swells. I haven't used it as an expression pedal so I can't speak for that. The only reason I am giving this item four stars is because in less than an hour of playing with it, the pedal began to squeak so loudly that I could hear it over my amp. The only way to fix this was by cranking the tension so far down as to be almost unplayable for me and even then, the squeak persisted. The only way to fix this was by cranking the tension so far down as to be almost unplayable for me and even then, the squeak persisted. After emailing Dunlop, they recommended that I either send it back to them or exchange it through the store. I have decided to go with the latter. I'm hoping it was just a bad unit but if it's an issue with the design, I will make efforts to have it fixed. Although it's little pricey for it's size, I firmly believe that the benefits of having this unit far outweigh any possible cons of which I found only the one.
I bought this pedal because it fits very well on my bass pedal board. It doesn't take up much space. It is well built. Another plus is the pedal is a passive pedal; it does not require a power source. It is taking some practice to be able to get a smooth volume swell and fade outs.
Great little pedal. I'm using it with an HX Stomp as an expression pedal and it works wonders. Takes up hardly any room on my board and it's built really well. Would recommend for HX Stomp users!
I've had numerous expression and volume pedals through the years, including the big brother to this unit. Perfect size, even for a sasquatch. Well built, nearly indestructible, and perfect fit for my pedal board and studio needs. So, perfect, I have two already and likely grabbing a third to add to a small fly rig board.
Overall:I've had the big Ernie Ball VP for years however I recently decided to downsize my board and decided to try the smaller DVP4 to save space. Wow, this thing is TINY! The size difference does take some getting used to.One important thing to mention, the Aux out can NOT be used as an always on tuner out. Its function is solely to be used if you're going to hook it up as an expression pedal instead of a volume pedal.Unfortunately the sweep isn't as smooth as the Ernie Ball. Starting from the heal down position (volume at 0) the first 15-20% of the sweep doesn't do anything. Then all the sudden the volume comes like you just flipped a toggle switch. So volume swells aren't the smoothest thing since the sound all the sudden hits when you're almost at 1/3 volume. ... MoreOverall:I've had the big Ernie Ball VP for years however I recently decided to downsize my board and decided to try the smaller DVP4 to save space. But it's usable once you get used to that nuance.Overall I'm satisfied with it for now however I may explore other mini volume pedal offerings in the near future to see if they have a smoother more consistent sweep.
I don't have any other pedals competing for space on a board -- hey, I'm a jazz player! -- but I still decided to go with this mini. Maybe because it's fairly inconspicuous visually? Actually, between the good reviews and the Dunlop name, I thought I couldn't go wrong. I was right! I've found this completely noiseless and sensitive pedal to be perfect for the volume swells I like to add occasionally. The tension is perfect for me as is, but it's nice to have the means to adjust it, as needed. Its sturdiness, too, is a big plus.

Dunlop DVP4 Volume (X) Mini Pedal
Control your volume and effects settings without cluttering your pedalboard. The DVP4 Mini Volume Pedal (X) does everything the large DVP3 does at half its size, and it's equally durable and solidly constructed with a lightweight aluminum frame, aggressive non-slip tread, and a Patented low friction band-drive for a smooth range of motion and consistent, reliable performance. For maximum comfort and precision, the rocker tension of the DVP4 is fully adjustable. The AUX output combines tuner and expression functions into a single jack that can be activated by a switch located inside the pedal. When using the DVP4 as an expression pedal, you can use an internal knob to set the minimum level of the parameter you are controlling with the rocker. If you wish to reverse the function of the positions, the DVP4 has another internal switch which allows you to do so.
