An indulgence!

You have to admit, Dyson products are a bit of an indulgence. This is a glorified fan heater with air filtration. You could buy the two separately for a third of the price. Sure, the technology is cool (and hot in this case) but the fan can still be noisy at full blast and in my experience the app seems to have a couple of bugs (mine carried on with a timer even after cancelling and the target temp reset down to the room temp). That said, I like my little fan heater with its hidden blade technology and the air is clean, apparently! I'd note, there's a countdown on the life of the filter reported in the app. This can be annoying as you start thinking about limiting the use of the fan because the replacement filter is pretty expensive whereas what you really want is ... MoreYou have to admit, Dyson products are a bit of an indulgence. You might not have an app or a remote but the walk will do you good.

I purchased this about three months ago and found it quite satisfactory as a fan. Very quiet and moved a sufficient quantity of air to cool the room in up to 32 dog temperature. However the first cool days of winter have arrived and it is next to useless. Last night 6 dog outside it raised the room temperature 1.5 deg in 4 hours. At the moment 12 deg outsideI have it sitting 1.5 m away from me with the temperature set as high as it will go.37deg. I can barely feel any warmth. A good fan a completely useless heater. Hence 3 star rating , would be 4 stars for fan 0 stars for heater.

The product is sleek, i like the design, but the cooling option might be not enough in crazy hot summer. However the summer this year is not that hot so this product worked well. The big difference compared to other fans is this product really gives fresh air that makes my respiratory system thank me. Before, I used a regular fan and that made me cough with the feel of dry throat and clogged nose. But since I have Dyson pure hotcool, I never had problem with my respiratory system anymore.Another good thing is, if you have home that is prone to dust, the fan doesnt make it worse, because it clears the air.

Good but did not live up to expectations
22 March 2021

I this in late November 2020 expecting to have an ultra quiet fan with effective heating, cooling and air purifying.Overall good but the perceived cooling performance is disappointing.I am very disappointed with the fan sound level - all good when fan is directed but there is a slight mechanical 'clunck' sound when the fan turns when on widest range. This may not be a problem during the day but I mostly use the fan for cooling at night and this sound is very annoying and stops me from going to sleep unless I set the fan on the narrow range. I didn't expect this quality product to have that sort of noise problem which does undermine its value to me. Although I took the fan to the Dyson repairer they didn't think there was a problem. Good for heating but very noisy
23 February 2023

I bought this a month ago and I have mad regrets. Mainly due to the noise it creates.Poorly worded name. It definitely doesn't cool. A cheap normal fan does a better job.The heating on it is great in the bedrooms. Gets full room coverage. Again issue is the noise. Had it set to 1 while it was at temp, it was nice and quite. When it needs to get the temp up, it sounds like a jetplane taking off. Not great while trying to sleep and trying to keep a newborn asleep. The app and features are cool. The filter etc is cool too.Am planning on returning this.

Has quickly become indispensable

I think Dyson have done it again ... they created a product that I was not really sure I needed only for it to turn out to be a real winner, and something I now can't quite imagine being without. I received a unit from Dyson to review and to be honest I was quite skeptical that it would impress me. However, there are several really clever features which make this a brilliant product.Firstly what is it? Basically it is the bladeless fan Dyson launched some time ago, but it has an air purifying filter and heating element built in and uses a strong airflow to provide a cooling effect on the skin. It has some sensors in the machine which measure impurities in the air and pass the air through the filter in the machine to clean the air - this whole process is reported ... MoreI think Dyson have done it again ... they created a product that I was not really sure I needed only for it to turn out to be a real winner, and something I now can't quite imagine being without. However, there are several really clever features which make this a brilliant product.Firstly what is it? Basically it is the bladeless fan Dyson launched some time ago, but it has an air purifying filter and heating element built in and uses a strong airflow to provide a cooling effect on the skin. It has some sensors in the machine which measure impurities in the air and pass the air through the filter in the machine to clean the air - this whole process is reported to my iPhone which provides a graph showing the amount of impurities in the air over time as well as the current air temperature and humidity inside as well as pollution levels, temperature and humidity outside from data sourced from DEFRA. The unit is controlled by a smartphone or the included remote which neatly sits magnetically attached to the top of the unit so you always know where it is. I find I use both methods of control in different situations. Immediate changes with the remote, and setting of schedules and sleep timers with the app.The fan is brilliant, creating an airflow that travels a effectively across a room even at low speed settings. There are 10 speed settings and for the airflow created the unit is not especially loud. The highest settings can be a little intrusive depending what you are doing. There seems to have been quite a lot of effort put into keeping the sound at a comfortable level as it is not too highly pitch and does not have distracting variations - I can happily continue listening to speech on Radio 4 even with the fan on the highest setting the same distance away as the radio speakers. I rarely have it on the highest settings, however, as it is generally not necessary. The heating element is really effective. We have a small study that does not have a radiator - the unit will be perfect for keeping us warm when working in this room. When the air reaches the right temperature (set with the remote control or via a smartphone) the heating element switches off. There are no heating element smells, no burning dust smell just warm air. The air seems less astringent than provided by a traditional fan heater which are either like standing in front of a jet engine or completely ineffective.Perhaps the best feature though is the air purification and the reporting of air quality through the Dyson link app. When the unit set to automatic it turns on at a quiet speed level to reduce the pollution levels in the room. I have noticed the daily spikes tend to coincide with the rush hour where we live in south-west London and it is reassuring that the unit is quietly going about its business of improving the air in our house. There are some downsides, the unit is not quite as elegant as the other fans in the series as the base is wider to accommodate the purifying filters and heating elements. I have had some difficulty creating a consistently strong link to the app - although I think this is my wifi network not the unit as it performs better when closer to the main router. These are minor gripes though, and I was pleasantly surprised after unplugging and moving the unit that all settings and connections were immediately restored when I plugged it back in - which is really useful if you intend to rotate it around rooms in the house. This product combines three modes and performs than better than the separate machines that previously would have been needed. The Pure Hot + Cool Link is not cheap but it is very well thought out and easy to use as you would expect from Dyson. I have become so attached to the machine that I am seriously considering getting another one for downstairs.

One of the worst buys ever
11 October 2021

Pros:-Design looks great-App works pretty smooth, sensors provide data even when fan is offCons:-In my small flat neither warming nor cooling doesn't create effect (for example today kept heating on at medium speed for 6 hours and room temperature was up exactly 1°)-It's not that silent-While heating power usage is very highCan't believe I fell into this marketing trap and bought a fan at 5 times the price. This was my first Dyson and I'll think twice before buying any other product.

Pretty good so far
24 September 2022

I've bought it about 2 weeks ago and have been enjoying it so far. I have read reviews about people having trouble with connecting it via the app but I had no issues. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because the first one I collected was a complete faulty which didn't turn on at all. We took it back to the store and they said they've never seen such a faulty. The replacement one we got is working well and the purifying function seems to be quite effective. Hope it also had a dehumidifying function too which is probably asking for too much!

Their Technical Support is a Hassle not Help.
2 January 2019

It has the most inefficient design I ever seen. The cooling feature works as a fan but is not as powerful as a normal tower fan I had. The heating feature is not as powerful as the ceramic heater I had either. The height and the short cord makes it very difficult to put it into use, I have to put it on a table next to my bed at night to feel the benefit of the drizzle cool air. Have to be careful when using it in the Heating mode because the hot air may directly damage your power socket (the cord is very short). More power means more noise. It can only be used, especially on heating mode, in a very small room, otherwise it is extremely inefficient. Unlike the traditional ceramic heater which heats only the immediate surrounding air, the Dyson works by passing air ... MoreIt has the most inefficient design I ever seen. Unlike the traditional ceramic heater which heats only the immediate surrounding air, the Dyson works by passing air through a heat element, which is a lose-lose battle if you are in a medium size room in mid-winter (do not mention a big room because it is totally useless). Bad idea. Then the Dyson App never connected to the Device itself. I contacted Dyson Support, numerous emails, phone conversation (very unpleasant woman who treated me as an idiot, I nearly expected her to ask "did you plug it in ?". Not funny) numerous more email, half of the time was the reply of "sorry we are not available". Passing through different staff each time, who got no idea what is going on. I had to photo graph the device, the screen shot, what it says etc...sent to them. Then they dropped me out cold or like a Hot Potato, nothing since. After making me jumped through hoops many, many times.I keep it because I am not bother with the packing and returning. And I hope the air pufifyer feature does work (no App to see the result, only goes by looking at the A turn from white to green on the machine, in my case, it did that after 5 minutes. I hope it does mean the air in my bedroom is really clean). Given their technical support attitude, I reckon I will go through a lot of hassle getting a replacement/refund through them. The fist and the last Dyson.

1stly I suffer from a serious lung condition & tried a few products/ solutions etc but nothing eased my forever Stuffy feeling apart from fresh air which isn't too practical with the UK winters with low temperatures & me having to normally have windows open daily.I tried 1 of these as it said that it came with 30 days refund policy as let's be honest these HP02's are definitely not cheap.I only had the thing 2 days & gave it an extensive workout to test it's 3 uses.In all 3 departments it's impressed me immensely.1: Air Purifying = This performs amazingly well & because of my Lung condition it's actually changed my life for the better already & I've only just got it... It is that good at cleaning your air in a room that you'll feel like your breathing in outside fresh air IMHO.2: Fan Heater = This thing can heat a room up in like 5 mins flat... Not idea how it's so quick but compared to any heaters or fires I've owned this thing is in a different league, once your suitable room temperature is reached it'll turn on & off to keep it quite quietly from then on thus not interfering with your TV or whatever noise wise.3: Cooling Fan = As Dyson point our themselves this isn't an air conditioning unit but what it does do is do it's best to recirculate your rooms air & to that end it does it better, a lot better than any fan I've ever tried... As this is the main reason I bought it... For night time while I'm in bed it's on Filtering the air & directing a flow of constantly slightly cool air at me thus greatly aiding me in getting to sleep & staying asleep.I can't find anything at all negative to say about this thing at all, in fact I loved it that much that 2 days after buying I decided I wanted another for the living room too & so I'm enjoying cleaner / fresher air in both of the 2 most rooms in my house now & I can finally close my windows after years of needing them open just to breathe cause of my Lung condition. The App is really handy & works well over WiFi or even 4G & even allows you to set up multiple schedules & allows you to monitor your rooms air quality levels in real time.It looks good & feels well designed just like most Dyson products as I've owned a few of their vacuum cleaners down the years.I initially thought that this thing was way overpriced but having ran it through its paces I would now actually say it's well worth every penny.Thank you Dyson to whoever designed this 3 in 1 multi purpose device as it's improved my quality of life :)
