Elite Novo Force Trainer

$225.01

(450 reviews)

NOVO FORCE is a high performing classic home trainer. It features a very compact magnetic resistance unit. Its design has been renewed compared to other models in its category and features a sturdy frame with very innovative features. By employing the Misuro B+ The Novo Force home trainer can become compatible with My E-Training and third party apps (which usually require a paid subscription). The Misuro B+ sensor processes speed and cadence data to send to compatible apps/devices/computers. The red roller where the wheel leans on is made in Elastogel material, the exclusive polyurethane compound developed and tested by Elite. This improves tyre adherence, moreover it decreases the noise coming from the roller/tyre friction by 50% and tyre consumption by 20%.

It is my second Elite Novo Force trainer. The big issue is the cable that in the place that connects to the controller gets damaged with sweat, and breaks. Elite support claims it is bad utilisation. They mus be kidding right ?!?.

Dumb trainer but smart purchase!

I looked at stationary bikes and smart trainers, but in the end I just wanted a unit to get through the Canadian winter. The unit is sturdy. I had a mag trainer back in the 90s, and the tubes are bigger on this one. There are watt/speed curves on the web, so you can calculate the watts. There are a couple of minor points. The notch in the axle clamp could be a bit larger to fit the QR clamp, though there has been no slippage. The clamp for the resistance dial is for a 7/8 handlebar, but one without tape or cables. I removed the pads inside the clamp and got it mounted ok.

I bought this product as a means for me to continue to cycle and train while under lockdown. I am not a professional cyclist but I enjoy going out on my bike for exercise and fresh air. This Elite NovaTurbo Trainer is perfect for my needs. The product is sturdy and surprisingly quiet when in use. I think this product is good value for money and would definitely recommend.

Elite Novo Force Elastogel

Recently tested it and I`m satisfied with the product. The highest resistance is like a moderate incline, not really a mountain ride but it is perfect for a home training.Pros: design, stability, easy to handle, easy to assembleCons: The resistance wheel gets really hot on high resistance so one must be careful when the unit is stored away, also if there are kids around the house. The roller is really noisy when an offroad tyre is used, I have not yet tried it with a road tyre, that might help to reduce the noise. As I live in a flat, I will see on the long run if I drive my neighbors crazy :)To sum it up, I`m glad I purchased this item.

Excellent mag trainer

Not sure if this review would be useful to anyone as I got this trainer recently just before MEC stopped selling it. I guess it's been discontinued, either that or that sold off everywhere because the COVID-19 global sudden interest in indoor cycling.Anyway, this is my first bike trainer and got this one after a pretty long research, looking for a quality device. It didn't disappoint; the quality of the components is top notch (it's made in Italy, so it's also pretty stylish for a bike trainer), although the assembly instructions are kind of vague and lacking (the device is simple enough to figure things out, though). There's a dial to select from 8 levels of resistance, so it combination with your own bike's gears, it would cover a wide range of training needs ... MoreNot sure if this review would be useful to anyone as I got this trainer recently just before MEC stopped selling it. For people really serious about indoor cycling however, I'd recommend getting a smart trainer instead; there's so much "dumb" trainers like this one can do while using an app like Zwift (e.g. there's no way for the app to control the trainer resistance to simulate riding uphill/downhill, drafting, etc.).Anyway, this seems to be a great mag trainer; time will tell about it's durability.

Works great! Excellent quality, sturdy with enough resistance. Just a bit shaky when trying to stand up for climbs. The manual is a bit confusing but was able to eventually figure it out.

Good quality / price roller

I am quite satisfied with the roller considering its price and quality. It is a simple roller but it does its job very well. Simple and fast assembly, around 15-20 minutes. It has a total of 8 levels of resistance which allows enough range of play when it comes to increasing intensity, I must say that the maximum level of resistance may be somewhat low, simulating what could be a slope of around 4 -6% but ultimately it is more than enough to train at home at a medium level. Also comment as an element to highlight, that it has the possibility of integrating the Misuro B + speed / cadence sensor and it has the possibility of integrating all kinds of wheel diameters, which is an incentive to add for your purchase. As negative aspects, the lack of a support foot that is not integrated, the clamp of the intensity controller is too small (I have an aero handlebar mounted) and they have to manage to place it in a comfortable position and perhaps, it is still my perception, It makes some noise, but not annoying at all. In short, a good quality / price roller that fulfills its function more than correctly.

After six months of use, using 100+ hours so far, this has held up very nicely with no visible wear or damage at all.It feels very solid, and there is no fear the bike will tip over while using it. You can bike with your eyes closed in complete confidence, stand on the pedals, lean on handlebars, etc.Noise is medium I would say. Not quiet but what can you really expect? I had to move the kit to our entrance mudroom (behind a closed door) so not to keep the kids awake in the evening. With this setup it's fine. One note, you have to be careful not to damage the resistance knob because it's on the end of a long stiff cable which cannot be detached. Seems very solid overall but you have to be careful when moving the unit as this cable seems like it could break or pop out if mishandled given this long, stiff cable which connects into the base and knob on the handlebars. However this isn't a big problem for me as I leave the unit in onen place and haven't been taking my bike on and off.I like the sticky texture of the roller, which sticks very well on a training tire. It has never slipped on me, even when putting in strong effort or standing on the pedals.I don't use bluetooth connectivity here (there is a seperate sensor you can buy called a Misuro B for another $114) but instead just use it as a manual trainer. This is made of solid metal and ski-boot like solid plastic, seems very good especially given the price.Would definitely reccomend

Similar to Elite Power Mag
19 March 2020

I really like my Elite Power Mag, which is very similar to the Novo. I have PowerTap pedals on the bike to measure power. Using it a lot with Rouvy. Very natural pedal feel.I like the fact that I can dial up the resistance as much as I want. That way, at a setting of 6 or 7, I can spin in a low gear, the wheel isn't turning very fast, and the noise from the trainer is frankly very OK. I get almost as much or more noise coming from the fan. Also, the variable resistance means that it's my decision whether to grind or spin, no matter what slope the road happens to be.Mine did come with the Misuro B+ unit, but I found it easier to use with an ANT+ speed sensor on the wheel. If money's no object, go for a Suito or similar. But the Novo Force is definitely money ... MoreI really like my Elite Power Mag, which is very similar to the Novo. I have PowerTap pedals on the bike to measure power. Using it a lot with Rouvy. Well I never knew indoor training can be this much fun, although going out in fresh air is a dream for all the cyclists, but with Elite Novo Force, all I wanted to evaluate was my ability to stay indoor and ride. And to be honest, I'm pretty happy with the product so far, using it with power sensor (Misuro B+) to make the trainer smart and for heart rate monitor, I'm using my OP watch.Comes with one month free-trial of My eTraining app, after one month it's 20 odd pounds (but really worth it) and I have exhausted my Zwift 1 week free trial also (or 21km) - $14pm for then on, but decided to continue with Elite's app for now.You can create your own own routes or download live videos, to ride on those roads.Elevator Gel Block is must I'd suggest - go for one (riser ... MoreWell I never knew indoor training can be this much fun, although going out in fresh air is a dream for all the cyclists, but with Elite Novo Force, all I wanted to evaluate was my ability to stay indoor and ride. You'll lose somewhat of your tire compound initially fairly quickly, but after 15days or so it wont be as visible as in starting 15 days, if you're riding with your roadies on.As for magnetic resistance, the feel is actually good - the rolling resistance allows you to simulate different terrain and data collected is actually close enough to my actual timings on road circuits. And the inertia will keep the tire rolling for a more meters even when you stop pedaling.Would like to highly recommend this product to someone who's looking forward to buy an indoor trainer, but still not sure how it works or someone who's still a beginner and indoor training is something new to you. Get a Misuro B+ smart sensor with it if you want to make the most of this trainer. As for Cyclop, I would highly rate my shopping experience, even in complete lockdown I was able to receive my shipment within 2-3 days securely packed in, that's some commitment. (Looking forward to order a trainer tire whenever it's back in stock). 5* for Cyclops and their shipping partner (Fedex and Shiprocket/Delhivery).For assembly DIY (although it's as simple as solving jigsaw puzzle ):https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQnLMmpAXtshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tx9DpHgmKNchttps://youtu.be/mviR9GVmeLo
