Engel MT-V45F 40L Fridge Freezer

Great product paid full price as 60 birthday present and wanted it straight away. I .could of got a better deal from agent if I had checked first. Bought cover from marine deals as well. I’m .very happy with product, keeps temperature within a couple of degrees. Have bought from marine deals before and would do so again. Happy customer thanks 😊

Absolute wonderful little unit.

Have used to keep Christmas drinks cold. Has worked an absolute treat. Love the features. It even has an interior light which wasn’t noted at first. Will be great to use when we go on trips away. We can now buy cold/ frozen foods to bring home and know that they are kept at the correct temperature. Very happy with the purchase.

Bad service

I purchased this fridge for my birthday as I had a Kings fridge and wanted an upgrade, the first time I turned it on it wouldn’t power up on 12v I found a blade fuse 10am blown, I changed it and the fridge turned on a couple of days later the fridge started turning on and off I found the new fuse had melted. I took it back to BCF and they said they would need to send for repair. 6 weeks later I got the fridge back damaged and once again would not turn on I called BCF straight away and they said I would need to deal with the repair as there is nothing they can do. Best $1300 headache I’ve ever bought

Engel MT-V45F Rulz!

This is our second Engel. First one we had for 12 yrs and it never missed a beat .The couple we sold it to still have it and it's still going strong. Has to say something about the Engel MT-V45F when Snowy's gets re stocked and within a week, are out of stock again. Big fan of the Engel fridges and Snowys.

Engel Superior quality trustworthy reliable & practical design

Comparing the MT-V45F 40L to our 1997 Engel 39L, efficiency seems the only improvement, the reinforcement bars added to the basket catch on the plastic/screws holding the evaporator in place making it difficult to remove, the lid is now permanently fixed and no longer easily unclipped/ removable. The same height basket from the 39L wont fit in the MT 40L length or width questioning its internal size? And the lead comes with a cigarette lighter plug only, known in the 4x4 industry is the worst plug as it vibrate out of its socket. Great 40l fridge

We previously bought a 60l when the 40’s were destroyed after the floods. The 40’s are back now and after selling the 60 we’ve now bought a 40. Took it camping over the Australia Day plus weekend and it’s main use is for a fridge with milk butter meat and salad stuff. Work very well in the high humidity heat 4 days. We were packing the 60 and could lift it, the 40 is much better to lift when just for 2 people. We also have the Eclipse 40 for hubby’s beer and drinks.

Great Investment

The 40l engel is just right for my needs. Having this fridge saves me money on drinks and food whenever I am away from home. It works great with my companion 40amp lithium battery pack and solar setup.

Great fridge, highly recommend

Great fridge/freezer. This is the 2nd one we have bought. We use one as a fridge and one as a freezer. We recently went away for 8 days camping with four adults and the fridge was ample for our cold food. The freezer maintained -15C running on batteries. The fri dge lid opens from the front which is great access from our vehicle. Highly recommend.

Poor reliability

I bought a MT45 and failed it the second time I used it, this was on a off grid trip so caused huge problems. Returned to BCF and I was told you only get a refund or exchange within a week of purchase, so it went for repair, 3 weeks later got fridge back. Next trip, the night before leaving, I loaded fridge up and it had exactly the same fault, yes, I should have checked when it came back from repair the first time, but, you should have confidence in "The Legend Of Reliabilty".After far too much hassle between BCF and Engel I eventually got a refund months later without a fridge, really soured me, and the fact I was made to be grateful for getting my money back. Too early to judge. Ask me in a few years

Too early to judge. I bought this thing to last decades and if it had any issues within the first two weeks for the $1300 price I'd have far more to say about it. One star off for keeping cooling element on low and presumably drawing power when switched to "off". The protective bag for it was also unreasonably expensive for what you'd get.
