Fi ally made the switch from Waeco's to an Engel and I wish I did it years ago. But let me say first, and the only Con, they are big and heavy, you DO not want to be taking this in and out of your Rig, a fridge slide is a MUST. Everything else, AMAZING. Durability is second to none, power consumption draws barely more than my 40l Waeco and the insulation and cooling just blows the others out of the water. Even small additions like the light actually turning of when the lid is closed and mats under the baskets so they don't rub on the elements or bottom. Honestly, do yourself a favour, if you have the room, save the pennies and get this fridge, I'm so glad we did. The fridge is robustly constructed and well finished off. Definitely a quality product. The price point is high but Engel has a reputation for longevity and reliability.The only downside is that even when empty it is a Two-person lift. This means I'm going to have to find a girlfriend to help me carry the Engel and they are decidedly more expensive than what I paid for the fridge :-). Something I hadn't previously considered!

Best to turn unit on & spend a few days adjusting temp to work out best setting. Very impressed with quality of product. Would highly recommend. Also recommend investing in the cover for this product for protection, save worries about scratches & peace of mind during transportation. We’ll invest in another smaller unit down the track.

This is a great fridge! But it is at the top of the price line. Now that that’s out of the way. SOLID! East to operate and reliable. We really like the lid and it is not going to fail like I witness in the store with another brand. We sleep directly above our fridge in our camper and we can not hear it, extremely quite. With our battery set up can’t be happier with the purchase. We will dead set struggle to get our deep cycles below 60% in seven days of use. We were so pleased with the BCF staff at Rockingham WA. They priced matched and very so helpful and went the extra mile in service.
This is my 3rd Engel fridge. I have a 42 litre fridge/freezer combo which I’ve had for years and a little 15 litre beer fridge which I believe is discontinued. Both still working perfectly. The 60 litre is now installed in my camper and ready for a tour of the continent.
I have used Engel Fridge Freezers for many years. I wanted a new Engel that had a larger capacity but at a great price. BCF had what I needed at a very competitive price, terrific service and simple and fast delivery. My new fridge is very efficient, is of the highest quality and will operate even in the most remote and rugged locations and is built to last! I am extremely happy with this unit and the excellent price given by BCF.
Great fridge with plenty of room for food and drink for family trips away. I find it to be quiet and economical on power use. We use it mostly as a fridge - a full 60L of fridge space which I find perfect for a family of four. That said, it is great to have the ability to use it as a freezer too (chest freezer or fridge at home when we're not using it camping). Being a chest style fridge, you don't lose all the cold air every time you open it which is important when you're watching 12V power draw. The digital read out makes temperature setting and monitoring easy. A solid, simple, great looking fridge that I will have for many, many years to come.
Fridge/freezer is awesome. Used this with our AGM battery and solar panels over 4 cloudy days during Xmas, barely used any power. Slim design meant that it fit in the back of the BT-50 with a cover, no dramas. Bought online and arrived within 5 business days - BCF service is great. Won’t buy any other brand, seen a similar sized used Engel that was 5 years old and on sale for $100 less, will hold its value.
Having bought myself one of those flash new utes with a roll top lid (after 20 years with my old one that had a canopy) I was horrified that my old Engel (similar age to my old Ute) was 10mm to high ! Looked around at the newer (lower) fridge options but came back to the Engle for it build quality both inside and out. I got the transit bag too and even with this fitted Engel has by far the best ventilation for the compressor and condenser. I thought this important whilst jammed in the tub of a Ute. Having bought other stuff from Snowys I thought I would check pricing and as always they came up best and service was 1 st class.g
Bought on sale for $1699 with free cover. Near twice price of dometec but that felt plasticy cheap compared to steel Engel. Simple turn knob without fancy Bluetooth is definitely the way to go. It sucked my battery from 12.7 to 11.8 when car off. Only time will tell if it’s worth the extra dosh but happy thus far.
