I have an older Epson ehtw3200 and have had my eye on this as an upgrade.Wow it’s good, the cinema brightness setting which is traditionally subdued and quiet is sooo much brighter. Don’t get me wrong this machine is quiet, after the initial boot up the fan calms down and inside of 2-3 mins it’s a whisper. The brightness and contrast are something to behold. I have made a jump from the 1080p version to the 4k and it genuinely feels like a jump in picture quality, I have mine set up on the ceiling off centre pointing to the wall approx 15 ft away I can toggle the picture from 80in all the way to 300in. If I had a bigger room theoretically it can produce a 500in picture. Despite this size the picture is bright and detailed. There are some very good big screen TVs out ... MoreI have an older Epson ehtw3200 and have had my eye on this as an upgrade.Wow it’s good, the cinema brightness setting which is traditionally subdued and quiet is sooo much brighter. This particular machine has lens shift just like my last one, this is quite rare with other brands tending to favour key stone correction. Lens shift means you can physically move the lens to point it where you want on the wall, key stone can do this minimally and digitally so you can lose picture quality, I find keystone clunky, the lens shift on this is perfect. It’s a deal it’s a steal it’s the sale of the .. century. Having previously had a number of cheaper LCD projectors from Chinese branded companies which to be honest were fairly good but I could never get that amazing looking picture I was after. My old projector which was only few months old had been great when I first brought it but already I could see a deterioration in picture quality which for a few month old projector was totally unacceptable. Somehow dust had managed to get into the sealed lens unit even though the filters had been regularly cleaned and there was a coloured hotspot Type circle noticeable on blue pictures. So finally I decided to take the plunge and buy myself a proper quality projector. After a bit of research it became clear that both EpsonBenQ made amazing quality projectors and after a bit more research I finally decided that the way forward for me was with Epson as they were a huge brand I had trusted before for other products and not been let down by.I was originally going to just buy a decent 1080P projector at around £600-£700 but then I noticed this TW7000 which through clever technology could actually do a very decent 4K projection. Costing only £300 more than the 1080p projectors I had previously been looking at. Ok the TW7000 doesn’t have built in speakers TW7100 does but for me this wasn’t a problem as I would have it set up either through my surround sound system or via Bluetooth anyway so I didn’t need built in speakers which from past experience had never sounded any good in a projector anyway. When the projector arrived the first thing I noticed was the difference in weight to my previous cheap Chinese projectors. This projector was much heavier but then rather than 1 LCD this does have 3 LCDsrather than a led bulb it has a proper projector bulb which is much better and although the bulb won’t last anywhere near that of a LED light at least it is replaceable.I soon swapped over the old projector with my new epson even being able to use the same ceiling mount my old projectors.

Delivers a brilliant image and inbuilt speakers a bonus but a bit Tinny. bought for use around the house maybe pop up garden cinema for friends and family, here and there, to find its quite a delicate machine that is ideal for a fixed set up rather than pack away and move around. Description of blue tooth is vague. Basically you cant blue tooth to it only out of it to say a speaker. I was hoping to wirelessly send images from devices to it like with a smart TV but if you can like I was leasd to believe from description then, Im still trying to figure that out. Dont be tempted if buying from Amazon to purchase suggested Amazon fire stick. it is good but go buy from Tescos or other retailer, theyre half the price of Amazon.

Just received my Epson Tw-7100 and eagerly wanted to test it out. I purchased this along with the Amazon 4K fire stick which was reccomended. The fire stick was set up on my tv first so it was just a case of plugging it in to my projectors hdmi port. That’s where things started to go wrong, it sits there for a while before a message appears saying that this device is non compatible. I’m now slightly gutted.I have a now tv box which works fine of the hdmi port and the picture looks great on a 120 projector screen. Next problem is when I try to Bluetooth the sound via my sound bar Bose Soundbar 500 and Bose Bass Module 500. Guess what! It would not connect. Where do I start!? We love this projector- after going crazy returning inferior products we now have this amazing bit of kit.It is so quiet, the picture quality is second to none.I have blockout curtains, but honestly unless the sun is shining full blast, I don’t even close the curtains. Very important is that it has an audio out port which is really good we had another brand projector and the audio was sloughing, but with this projector everything is fast- no press and wait for a response which drove me mad with the previous ones we tried. For the price you are 100% getting more than you bargained for! We are over the moon: better than going to the movies with all your creature comfort to hand :
Wow..this is a bright projector! I am using it on a 92 inch screen and sit 4 mts back. It is not in a dedicated blacked out room, there is always a very low level light on. The light reflected from a 1.0 gain screen into the room is surprising. I did all the usual calibrations but found that for brightness and contrast that I had to view a range of materials and adjust to match. Production values vary greatly between channels and individual programs and sources ie The great british bake off is over exposed and the gamma/black levels on Jonathon Ross are the opposite. A typical problem with Saturday night TV - is watching a dark jacketed Jonathon Ross then Match of the Day where light coloured and white shirt highlights can be burned out. I fiddled about with the gamma curve but it only gave subtle adjustments. In the end I have turned down the bulb to ECO, Brightness to 45, Contrast to 45 and Saturation to 40. Its a compromise to get watchable shadows and highlights. These are obviously personal preferences yours could vary greatly.Auto iris - leave it off, its too slow and cant do anything to any picture other than pure black. The native contrast of this PJ is really good anyway.Resolution and sharpness - There is inconsistency in the panel alignments that can't be fixed by the user. I think this is probably due to lcd panels that are not perfectly flat, a bit like a wavy screen. This manifests itself along grid lines in a patchy way, almost like chromatic abberation but can't be that. I fiddled with this for ages but its not a deal breaker, stepping back a meter I couldn't see the problems.4k, does it show more detail than 1080p? With a test card yes, but step back a metre and you'd struggle to see it. I've tested a range of 4k HDR movies against their 1080p equivalents and I can see a slight benefit with some of them.Lens shift - good but not as good as my previous Epson PJ. If you are ceiling mounting this may give you a problem - If you use both horizontal and vertical adjustment you get a reduced range not mentioned in the specs which will throw your calculations out of the window. I also found the keystone adjustment awkward to get a result I was happy with. I didn't want to use it anyway. In the end some intense negotiation with my other half has resulted in me being allowed to reduce in size a pelmet which covers the pull down screen.HDR - Tested several sources - All I can say it that I am really impressed with the brightness and contrast of this PJ with standard material and HDR didn't really show much benefit if any. Although there are 16 levels of tone mapping I can't see anyone using anything outside 2-6, I'm currently using level 3.Not surprisingly my 12year HDMI lead would only show 1080 material. I've upgraded to an 8k optical 48gbps lead which has no problems passing 4k HDR material.Audio - surprisingly good if you dont want to use your surround sound system. Although I have found that it works sometimes and not others (not got to the bottom of that yet).Memory - For anyone that wants to have different settings for different material this is a really useful feature.Colour balance - I've not had chance to calibrate this properly yet but to my eyes its leans a little towards red. I've cooled the white balance setting a little for now.Out of the box Cinema, Natural and Bright Cinema are all well judged with only minor tweaking required to taste although if you're fussy like me it may take you a while to get there. I'm using Cinema as my base. Bright Cinema is really bright without looking unbalanced (but too bright for my room).4K enhancement - haven't tested this as the PJ sees my sources as 4k and won't let me enable it even though the material may only be 1080. It requires me to set my source hardware as 1080 which I couldn't be bothered to do.Motion handling - Yes there is judder with some 4k material - frustrating TBH considering the price of this model. Motion handling doesn't require fancy algorithms and interpolation processing. It just needs a video processing chip capable of handling the increased volume of data. A good example is No Time to Die - fine in 1080 but struggling with pans in 4k.The 4k benefits of resolution and dynamic range are harder to see. Its more a projector that can accept 4k material and sometimes show its benefits. In summary this projector provides a lovely contrasty, bright and punchy image which is great to watch with almost any material or source. Its so powerful I'm sure it would be at home in a much larger room with a much bigger screen, it has plenty in reserve.
Installation and setup was very easy. Image is very defined. We previously owned a 6700W enabling us to use WiFi. This model we had to purchase the WiFi transmitter separately. This is a feature that we would like to see included with all models. It is a lot quieter than the 6700w and starts up and shuts down a lot quicker. So we are very happy with our purchase.
Good large picture for the price. Definitely louder operating noise ( from fan)compared to previous INFOCUS projector we had. Was able to use existing projector bracket and in same position on ceiling. Would prefer hard copy of manual instead of getting online.
Outstanding projector! And such excellent service from Richer Sounds, as usual over the years. The Epson EH-TW7100 represents a very worthy upgrade from my previous excellent 1080p projector. More expensive than I had budgeted, but I made up the difference by painting a custom grey wall with homemade cinema paint (1 litre dark grey paint, 1 litre matt varnish, 237 ml acrylic heavy gel medium, 8 UK tablespoons of mica powder) which saved me the cost of a screen. Really quite incredible results between the two. Never happier with my projected image.
Recent purchase and is been used in a dedicated Media room.I have watched a few movies since the purchase about a week ago. Set up was easy. The projector has enough features and specifications to get the set up I wanted without getting too overwhelmed with excess specs that I would probably never use. I would have loved to have a motorised lens cap, as the projector is mounted on the ceiling and I have to stand on a stool/chair to cover the lens after turning it off. Also a hard wired Ethernet connection would have been handy too, rather than relying on wifi only.
