Really good value. This is the second cake mix I have reviewed in the last week as Bunch must think I need to bake more lol. I love these cake mixes. They are great to have on hand in the pantry for times when you want to quickly make something sweet as a treat without too much fuss over trying to find lots of ingredients. With it being a fairly basic cake mix you can add your own ingredients if you like to make it a bit different and more to your taste. The mix made a nice moist and fluffy cupcakes which I added some homemade icing too. They were a hit with my son and we will definitely be buying more to have on hand, if just to practice our cooking skills. I love that the bag can be recycled and that it is made with mostly Australian ingredients. I will definitely ... MoreReally good value. No complaints for a packet cake mix. It's been a long time since I've bought a packet cake mix so I wasn't sure what to expect. But the cake was good. Super easy to make so I feel like there will always be a place for packet cake mixes. Very little packaging except for one plastic bag which would usually be recyclable if it wasn't currently paused. There were no complaints, and no one guessed it was a packet cake mix rather than made from scratch. I'm not sure if I would ever buy again as I do like to make from scratch however, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to someone who prefers packet cake mix.

Taste of my Childhood. Is there anything better than a basic butter cake with a hint of lemon in the white icing? I think not. The taste of my childhood and still my favourite birthday cake. The price is amazing, the quality is great and it makes an awesome cake. I also use the butter cake mix to make "cobbler" (pretty sure what I make isn't actually a cobbler) which is delicious. Pop a tin of apricots in juice in the bottom of the dish, make the cake batter as per instructions, whack it on the top and bake. Super easy and super tasty. This is a great, versatile product to keep on the shelf.

Nice buttery flavour. Thanks Bunch for the opportunity to try this Butter Cake Mix. I was particularly interested to see how this product would save time and effort, and what the texture and flavour would be like. I'm a home cook so it took me sometime to get around to baking it ... After strictly following the easy directions - additional ingredients, mixing time, size of tin and oven temp - I was disappointed at the appearance of the finished product (see photo). I had intended to lightly ice the cake but didn't think it would improve it. However, the texture was good and it had a nice buttery flavour which my husband loved. If the cake turned out a little better I might be tempted to buy the product in the future. But for now I would prefer to bake my own from scratch.
The best and the cheapest! I love this cake mixture! I buy it regularly as it’s so cheap yet makes the most delicious cakes! My favourite cake to make is peach cake! Using a tin of peaches, pour the peaches and all of the juice into a mixing bowl. Cut the peaches into quarters and then pour the cake mixture into the peaches. Mix well together, then pour into a cake tin and cook. Once it’s cooked cover the top in butter and sprinkle with sugar. The peach juices make for a very moist cake but it’s so delicious! All of this from this very affordable cake mixture! So versatile and yummy!
Fantastic cake mix. This was a sample I was a bit sceptical about, however very pleasantly surprised. it was on the bottom shelf of the cake section in my local Woollies. Priced at 90c it was a bargain. While mixing it was quite a thick batter so I double checked I had added all the ingredients, which I had. Milk, eggs and butter was added to the cake mix. Quick and easy to make I added mixed berries to the bottom of the pan then poured in the batter. it smelt fantastic while cooking and was very much enjoyed by all. Thank you Bunch it will be purchased again in my house.
Nowhere near as good as a scratch bake. It's going to get three stars because there was nothing wrong with the taste as made, but this packet mix did something I hate: it volcanoed to the side on almost every cupcake. Now, I bake cupcakes three-ish times a week (whenever we run low) and as far as my husband is concerned, they must be iced. When they erupt to the side, they are a pain in the butt to ice. My own recipe is simple, and I can throw that together as quickly as using a mix. Cake mixes are glorified sugar/flour bases for cake, and not worth the money for anyone who has any experience baking whatsoever, even at just 75c. If you are looking for a 'My First Cake' situation for a child, then maybe buy a cake mix, but if you have made even one or two cakes in ... MoreNowhere near as good as a scratch bake. Surprisingly moist. I found this quite easily even though it’s on the bottom shelf. It’s shelf price was 75c but at the checkout it scanned at 90c. I decided to make a choc chip butter cake. The instructions are readable (unlike small print on jelly packets) and easy to understand. 3 ingredients and the packet mix and this cake is super easy to make. My choc chips all sunk to the bottom but it didn’t matter as it still tasted amazing. I was surprised just how moist this packet cake was. My kids kept asking for more. Win win. It’s made in Australia from at least 95% ingredients which I really like. The 1. 5 star rating however isn’t the best, so on special occasions it would be ok. The bag is a return to store for recycling . At 90c, I will definitely be buying this ... MoreSurprisingly moist. I found this quite easily even though it’s on the bottom shelf. Cheap and cheerful. What a fun little find! Cheap as chips and so simple to make, this butter cake mix is such an economical winning product and I was thrilled to receive it as a sample. Found in the cake mix aisle, on the bottom shelf, in a very cheap no frills plastic bag/packet, this cake mix is literally a bargain at 75c - unheard of! Easy to prepare, just add eggs, butter and mix then mix. It could not be more simple, more quick and as said above, so very economical. I added 100s and 1000s to the cake batter and cooked in a mini muffin pan to make mini sprinkle cupcakes, no icing required (the cake mix doesn’t come with icing) The cake cooked beautifully, making soft and moist cupcakes with a deliciously buttery cake flavour. The best 75c you’ll spend
Cheaper than a cupcake! First time trying it out with a 75cents butter cake mix. I just needed to add 2/3 cup full cream milk, 2 eggs and 60g butter. Mix it well together and bake 180C. 45mins later we have cake ready. Never thought it was so cheap to make a cake. I actually added some raisins and orange rinds to it and it turned out moist and surprisingly delicious. A quick cake to make when grandkids & their friends comes over unexpectedly. Will get more and have this in storage for quick bake. Thanks for letting me try it.
