I bought a small sample of this a while back and then went and purchased the larger size. It’s on the high end side and costs $38 for one ounce of product. When I first used it reminded me of Smashbox primers, especially the original-likely because they both have silicone. It does feel a bit oily going on, but it’s far from producing that effect. It does exactly what it claims. It smooths the skin, blurs pores and allows your foundation and other cream products blend beautifully. After I apply this, I then like to use my Bye Bye Pores powder by It! Cosmetics to set over my pores in cheeks, forehead and nose. These two products together are just fireworks together! After I do this, any foundation I apply and I mean any goes on flawlessly. This primer is absolutely perfect for cold weather, I recently visited some states, (connecticut, new york, rhode island, etc.) and this primer made my makeup last all day long. I went out for more than 10 hours a day outside, and my makeup was perfectly fine by the end! I have very oily skin, so instantly after applying my skin feels so soft and matte; you can honestly wear this primer by itself if you really wanted to. The only reason I rate this 4/5 stars is because it does not work well for warmer climates. I live in Arkansas, and at the end of a long day, my makeup gets patchy and doesn't look as nice. Throughout the day you can notice small imperfections, though it isn't too terrible.

I am EL freak. My entire skin care and make collection has been EL for years on end. the EL mattifier is one of my HG products and I use this everyday with the EL double wear foundation. I went into a store to purchase the EL gel spf 50, which was out of stock. The EL rep encouraged me to purchase the EL double wear hydrating spf 45 primer. It is an horrible product and no wonder it is discontinued as I cannot find it on this website, this product made my make up cakey, which leaves a tacky feeling on the skin, it is just awful. I am very upset and disappointed as EL is an exclusive high end brand and now I cannot return this awful product. The EL rep refused to return this product. How do I go about returning the product and going back to the EL mattifier ?

I am in my early 20s and have always had issues with moisturizers. Some moisturizers would make me break out or get bumps on my face or cause me to get excessive oil on my forehead even through I have normal skin. This year I got a sudden onset of maskne and forehead acne. I tried everything to help my skin. I tried Clinique, Lancme, Clarins, Exuviance, and Elisabeth Arden and everything made it worse. However, Este Lauder Resilience Lift is not everything. This moisturizer turned my skin around. I was surprised that this worked wonders for my skin because I thought it was for mature skin. I also have very sensitive skin prone to burning and the SPF in this moisturizer does not let my skin burn and is non comedogenic. I also have very sensitive skin prone to burning and the SPF in this moisturizer does not let my skin burn and is non comedogenic. I love this moisturizer because it is a great base for foundation, hydrates and plumps my skin immediately, decreased my redness, brightened my complexion and smoothed my skin too My skin is not perfect but has come a long way after using this moisturizer for 3 months.
I agree with the reviewer who misses the Timezone day cream. It was light, absorbent, without fragrance and, I think, color. And, importantly without the Avobenzone that this Resilience has, and as all or nearly all your SPF30 products seem to have. These chemical sunscreens as opposed to the mineral sunscreens should be retired. They are outdated. Though not as wellresearched as the Oxybenzone still in some stronger chemical sunblocks, chemical sunscreens as a class are now thought to be bad for marine life, and possibly not so great for humans either. Estee, you must be losing market share to the newer clean beauty companies. Lets see a line of your products that has both Estee Lauder effectiveness and clean consciousness.
This is my favourite primer, and I've tried many! It glides on over my morning routine of serum, moisturiser and spf with both feeling sticky or heavy. It's a light smooth consistency that blends quickly so as not to delay your make up routine. I find it controls my shine for hours and I rarely have to touch up for at least 8 hours. Reduces oil and holds back the shine without drying out the skin at all. This will be a firm favourite going forward.
I bought this as a primer for the Double Wear foundation. I don’t know if it’s the silicone in it or what, but it felt like I put a layer of plastic film on my skin. It felt too heavy, like my skin was suffocating. Reviews say it’s great so I soldiered on. After having this on my face for a couple of hours my skin had an unhappy reaction and I had to immediately take it off. The discomfort and redness persisted for a few days. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone with sensitive skin. There are better products out there. I returned it to the store.
I’m in my mid-40s with super oily skin that still gets pimples occasionally AND I also have fine lines AND I have large pores. Yay, fun! So it has been near impossible to figure out what to do in terms of primer. I have long been a fan of Hourglass but it does nothing for oil, and so foundations transfer all over the place. Then I started skipping primer and using the Bobbi Brown stick foundation, which is great at minimizing pores and not settling into lines, but also does nothing to control oil. But this Estée Lauder Mattifier is incredible! I’ve worn it under Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation all day today, and guess how many blotting papers I’ve used? ZERO. Guess how much makeup came off on my mask? ZERO. What does zero plus zero equal? EVERYTHING.
