I loved this camera; until I didn't. I should have known that maybe my intermittent connection loss to the internet was a possible symptom of a wider issue. As an early adaptor, I read and hoped that the firmware would stabilize. Then I noticed fogging in the camera (mine was installed on the wall, which I is supported, though I wish I had had a ceiling hardwired location). I should have punted it back to Eufy at that time, but didn't want to do the ladder and temporary cover work. Finally, I went on vacation, and when I needed it most, it stopped working and the status light was no longer active. When I came home, I unfortunately procrastinated again at taking it down to troubleshoot but finally had an unscheduled day. My silicone was all good, there was no place ... MoreI loved this camera; until I didn't. My silicone was all good, there was no place where I could see water intrusion besides the gaskets of the camera itself. When I contacted Eufy, I noticed that I missed the 1 year warranty by 2 weeks by contact date and by purchase date (not shipping or install date). I told them that I had the last camera activity saved, possibly proving the failure occurred within warranty. I was disappointed that not only did the product fail, but that I was offered a paltry $15 (15% up to $100 item) discount for replacement. I again pleaded with Eufy for some other resolution, but in vain.

What could have been the ultimate "all-in-one" camera is unfortunately a hot mess of a security system. On paper this camera has it all, power motion-activated spotlights, full 360º tracking, blah blah blah, so from a hardware point this is super promising. Unfortunately the software was slow and buggy right from the start and it only got worse over the 6 months we had the camera. First the camera started missing events, like it would only start recording the back of the person already leaving from our house, after they had to previously park out front, walk up the driveway, drop of the package and THEN walk back. Then it started missing events completely, or it wouldn't record anything in a whole day. And the last straw was when the whole system just crashed, went ... MoreWhat could have been the ultimate "all-in-one" camera is unfortunately a hot mess of a security system. Luckily got a full refund back from JB (thanks) otherwise you would have to call and pay an electrician every single time this thing gets fixed or raplaced due to it being a hardwired camera... never again! :(

Installed several eufy cams after having someone break into my home. This one has great resolution, decent infrared, and so far, only one false recognition of my dog as a human. The AI seems to work VERY well to differentiate humans from all other motion, and to be able to track a subject after it's acquired. The alarm works instantly, and is quite loud. Flood lights are bright, and being able to change the color temp is a nice touch. Install was easy, even considering I was installing about 16 feet up. They include a hook to hang the floodlight from the electrical box while you're wiring. Definitely has helped me rest more easily since installing. Most importantly, the notifications are virtually instantaneous, and it only takes about 2 seconds to get the app open ... MoreInstalled several eufy cams after having someone break into my home. Eufy Security Cameras: Quantity 2 of Model - Floodlight Cam 2 Pro (wired) and Quantity 2 of Model - Eufy Floodlight Cam 2k, wired. I live on the east coast of the US and I needed to provide exterior security floodlight cameras for my family member’s home in the far northwest. I am a retired electrical engineer and searched for the best camera I could buy. After a thorough search I selected Eufy. I used the Eufy Security app from the east coast to select the different setup choices and fine tune the activity zones and I visited the site to see the completed installation first hand. The cameras have worked flawlessly and record all selected events without fail. The cameras are built substantially to survive being subject to harsh weather, both winter and summer. Both the Floodlight Cam 2 Pro and the Floodlight Cam 2k are heavy cast construction, with a solid feel that gave me the confidence that Eufy built these cameras to endure. In fact, the Cam 2 Pro can double duty as a large bird nesting platform per the literature included. The site is very near the ocean so the Eufy specification to be able to withstand salt spray is appreciated. The installation at the house went smoothly, and the supplied holding hook device permitted my relative to install the cameras without needing a helper. The syncing with the house WiFi router system was simple and straightforward for all cameras. I chose hardwired 120 volt security floodlight cameras because they replaced existing wired floodlights. It was just a simple swap and re-connect of the two power wires and ground wire and the new Eufy cameras were functional right away. We appreciate that these two Eufy models, the Cam 2 Pro and Cam 2k are designed to have all the recorded video saved inside the cameras without the need for a monthly cloud service fee or subscription of any kind. The motorized Floodlight Cam 2 Pro has 8 gig of internal SD memory and records activity for over a month at our site before write-over occurs. I get push notifications remotely when activity is detected. The prior 15 seconds of video is added to each recording and a total of 120 seconds of activity, if needed, is taken into memory. I can watch the past 30 days of activity or even watch live streaming. And, if important, I can download any or all of the videos to my computer or smartphone through the app. The non-motorized Floodlight Cam 2k cameras were mounted to the rear of the house where less activity occurs. They have all the features of the Cam 2 Pro except the camera is fixed and does not rotate. The Cam 2k literature suggests their 4 gig memory can handle 2 weeks of activity, but in my case it is longer. Eufy offers a reasonable monthly subscription price to monitor all my four cameras’ activity and save it in the Eufy cloud where I can access it at any time during the year. I will consider this convenient option in the future, but it is not required. Both cameras have two way sound communication and can blast a siren if needed. The zone-masks for activity detection and sensitivity are easy to arrange with the app so as to avoid false triggers. Some of the other reviews I read here have had issues with no trigger or false trigger. That would seem to be normal, it was for me. Adjustment of the sensitivity and re-adjusting the activity masks fine tuned my cameras perfectly. The Cam 2K cameras come with about 140 degrees of coverage and the Cam 2 Pro model covers almost 360 degrees with its motorized camera. I needed to mount my two Cam 2 Pro's on a wall, so I limited myself to only 180 degrees in that case. The Cam 2 Pro tracking is uncanny and almost seems that I have a live security guard that is tracking my visitors (or intruders). The motion of the camera lens is hidden in a globe, so nothing is seen moving by an observer. Here is what this crazy good camera can do: I have a long exterior front-of-house wall. Facing out from one of the Cam 2 Pro's, there is a roll up garage door 20 feet to the left. Then a personnel door closer, only 5 feet to the left. Then another personnel door 10 feet to the right. And 50 feet of parking area and driveway all across the front view. I set the Cam 2 Pro to follow or "track" the action it detects. It can detect a person coming out of any of the doors and then follow the person anywhere in the parking lot. I can manually position the camera view with my finger on the app screen and the Cam 2 Pro can even tilt down to see packages left at the door. Being a member of the senior generation, I was looking for a 100 page instruction manual or PDF file so I could read up on everything the cameras could do and study the setup procedure. Eufy has listened to the younger generation who can’t be bothered with such heavy reading material and has instead made the installation and setup intuitive so that each step is easy to do, links appear when necessary, and separate help files can be accessed for any subject. And when I finally had a question that I could not find an answer to, my communication with Eufy was prompt and accurate. I don’t mind at all that I did not have a thick manual from Eufy. I did not need one. I heartily recommend the Eufy line of Floodlight Security cameras. 5 Stars. I will also be expanding my security with other Eufy products that mesh into the app and I will use battery- powered cameras next inside the house where wiring would be troublesome. Ps – Since my installation, I occasionally look at other makes and models of security floodlight cameras, just to make sure I made the right decisions for quality, features and price. Thankfully, I would not trade my Eufy cameras for anything else I have seen.

NOTE IT MUST BE HARD WIRED TO 110v POWER LINE. no battery or plug in. Installing it is simple but can be dangerous and should only be preformed by a knowledgeable person. It can be mounted on the soffit or against the wall on an approved outlet box, I chose to put it above my garage where a flood light already existed. on the back there is a sync button you press and your app can identify it and it is a very simple setup. It added to my group of cameras on my app very quickly and updated within 5 minutes. Pros 1. Has an amazing picture and it is very clear during the day and at night just like the doorbells 2. The ability to pan tilt and zoom on a $300 camera is quite impressive. 3. the lights are very bright and illuminate my very dark yard at night ( see pictures) 4. It tracks and records people walking by and on the property ( distance can be adjusted for shorter distance) 5. Amazing app and sends push notifications very quickly 6. connects very fast ( providing you have good wifi coverage in your home) 7. The mic on this camera is amazing it picks up people walking by talking on the phone, its almost to good. Cons so far ( some could be corrected by software updates) 1. if I'm doing work in my yard or working on the car it sends 10 notifications a min and follows me all over the yard. ( facial recognition could help to prevent this) 2. the wall mount style leaves a ledge on the top of the camera that birds could nest on ( cover piece in future orders could mitigate this) 3. app crashed a few times since use ( could be a software glitch that can be fixed) 4. PTZ move speed is a tad bit delayed and you find yourself over correcting to get the camera where you want it. I think a lot of these cons will be corrected over time and would say by no means should deter you from this product. I will update as time goes on, and as features get fixed and added. I would recommend this and do not regret adding it to my collection of Eufy products.
Good Thing 1. Coverage: I own 2 flood light cam 2 pro and they were chosen for their ability to cover 360 degrees. The motion tracking sensitivity level can be adjusted and it does a pretty decent job covering activity. 2. No Subscription is needed. Obviously. 3. Flood light is super bright and gives good coverage. Bad thing 1. The camera switches its view to the area with the last detected motion. This is annoying as the camera could switch to a moving tree branch even though it was tracking humans. 2. The AI on eufy camera is not the best. There are 2 detection types and on the first one, "Human Only" - Camera is missing moving humans for no reason. In the second mode - "All motions"- The camera detects every motion and this means you are getting alerts for even the shadow of a moving tree branch, moving shrubs, etc. The sensitivity of detection can be adjusted but even at the maximum sensitivity level, the camera misses human activity when set in "Human Only" mode. Eufy needs to work on its AI detecting human vs other motion. 3. Motion Activated Light: The light turns on when it detects motion which is great. But, the problem again is the detection of motion. If set to "Human Only" mode, Camera is not recognizing a walking person as Human and ends up not turning the floodlight ON. If set to "All motions" mode, you will see the flood light turning on for the movement of leaves, trees, etc. Overall, it depends on the area you need the camera to cover. If you want it for an area without any vegetation, it would do a perfect job covering the area. If you need it to cover an area with trees, a garden, etc, You might end up setting the camera to "Human Only" mode as I did but expect it to miss some activity for you.
Called the customer product support line prior to purchasing asking about the effective range of the PIR motion senor for this device. Quoted at 70' initially so I purchased it. Upon conducting an functional check (after it was mounted above the garage), I could only get sporadic detection at 20' and consistent at 12-15'. All zones were set at a sensitivity level of 7 and detection was for all motion (not just people). I called customer support and asked about the poor detection range and the technician stated detection should be consistent out to 40' so the PIR sensor was probably defective. Regardless, 40' for a generic neighborhood home isn't sufficient if you want detection out to the street (about 50-55') if you have vehicles (ie. teenagers) that park in the ... MoreCalled the customer product support line prior to purchasing asking about the effective range of the PIR motion senor for this device. Bottom line the detection range of the Eufy PIR motion sensor is woefully inadequate for an "out to the street" application. Advice go with an "active radar" motion sensor if you want distance. All other features were great, IF you can get the motion sensor to detect at distance.
The media could not be loaded. I recently added this Eufy 360 Floodlight to my home security setup after getting their dual camera doorbell. The contents of the box were pretty basic. This is very similar to the PTZ cameras you might see in a commercial setting, the only difference is that the camera doesn't zoom, instead it has a 2K resolution camera that provides you the ability to crop in on videos without loosing too much image quality; like you would on a standard 1080p camera. It comes with all of the installation hardware you might need to replaced an existing floodlight on your home, it even came with a few extras because not everyone's setup is the same. The floodlights are adjustable so you don't have to point them directly into yours or your neighbors windows. The lights brightness and color is also adjustable in the app. The main reason that I chose Eufy over all the other brands out there is because there are NO MONTHY FEES. Other services let you buy their cameras, but just to use them you have to pay a monthly fee. NOT EUFY; I can keep an eye on my home and get notifications of events from anywhere in the world as long as I have internet connection. Pros & Cons: Cons: -I don't know if its my device, or something else going on, but it keeps disconnecting. I've tried rebooting it, replacing my router (twice), and had the cable company re-run the cables to the home. Randomly it will still drop off the network. - Human Recognition is good, but not great. We kept getting false "human" notifications when the sun hit a window just right one day. - Exclusion zones. It lets you create "Activity zones" but I wish it would let you create and "Ignored Zone" like you can on the doorbell Pros: -NO MONTHLY FEES! (Freakin Love this!) -You can get push notifications from anywhere that you have internet service; which means you can keep an eye on your home from anywhere. -Easy install and User interface. There's definitely some parts that you can get into confusing detail, but everything that I use on a regular basis is super easy, and install took me less than 20 minutes. -2K Video Resolution, this could be the difference between identifying someone or not. - Human recognition; its on both lists, because its good and bad. When it works its awesome because it doesn't send me notifications when the wind blows the neighbors flag, but will let me know when there's a human in my driveway.
I purchased this camera about two weeks ago directly from Eufy after my wife was followed home by an aggressive driver. I looked at Nest, Arlo and Ring cameras since I've used them all in the past. While they all have good cameras with good support systems and apps, they still charge you monthly fees to see recorded videos from devices you already bought and paid for. I wanted to get away from that and decided to try this Eufy camera for the first time. Installation wasn't too difficult and pairing to my wi-fi network went without a hitch. The lights were a little difficult to get set properly, but they illuminate a large area and are nice and bright. The app is easy to navigate and view either a live feed or recorded video. You can even use the app to adjust ... MoreI purchased this camera about two weeks ago directly from Eufy after my wife was followed home by an aggressive driver. You can even use the app to adjust brightness and the color temperature of the light or many other aspects of the camera. You will also get notifications about movement and can quickly access This particular camera comes with enough onboard storage to store about a weeks' worth of video recordings if you set the camera to record on all motion. You could also set it to only record if people are detected and you will be able to store about two weeks' worth of video. This is dependent on how busy it is around your home though. This particular camera model also has the option to store recordings to your personal NAS and to the cloud, although the use of cloud storage will result in a need for a storage plan from Eufy. I don't have it setup yet, but I have a NAS and will attempt to use this feature in the future. This is one of the main reasons I bought this camera vs the others as I didn't want to keep paying to use a device I already paid for. It uses Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP) and I just don't have that setup on my Ubuntu Server yet. Video quality is pretty good, but when you start to zoom in you start to see a loss of quality even though the camera records in 2K. Other Eufy 4K cameras I've seen reviewed online have slightly better video quality when zoomed and I think it may be related to compression. I'm hopeful Eufy can address this in a future firmware update to get a sharper image when zoomed in to see tags and other important details. The thing I really like about this camera is that it moves to follow motion. If a car passes by or if someone walks through your yard the camera will follow them. It's not perfect and it works better during the day than at night, but it's nice to have a single camera that can cover such a large area. I really like the camera, but there is room for Eufy to improve it. I'm hopeful they can fix the video compression issue and improve nighttime motion tracking with a firmware update soon. If they can fix the issues through firmware it's definitely a 5-star camera, but as it stands now I can only give it 4 stars.
This camera has everything we were looking for. A friend of ours suggested it and we are very happy with it. The eufy website has some really great accompanying videos that sealed the deal for us. It is easy to use with a straightforward app interface, and my husband had no trouble connecting it. The picture quality is really clear. The sound is a bit delayed but works. You can set it to notify you when it spots a human which I really appreciate. You can zoom in on the person. You can talk to the person. The lights are adjustable to your preference. The only thing I didn’t think of was the size. It’s not elongated like some cameras, so when we hung it where an old flood light was, under the eve of our house, it looks like it should be about an inch or two taller ... MoreThis camera has everything we were looking for. Just something to consider if those things bother you. We also had to get a Wi-Fi extender because it went offline and we did everything we could to get it back online but it just had trouble staying connected.
