My review is a little different than rest aka a regular review. I went into this purchase knowly buying a scalped card so i am living with the super upgraded price and have accepted thats what i had to pay to play. As for the card itself its very perticular to its power. Make sure u dont loop any of the 3 power 8 pins. That said the card is good as expected but not like i would have thought. I thought i would be buying the physical highest grade card at the time and it was going to be night and day from my 2080 supersea hawk on water also. It is better but not crazy like id thought went from less than half cuda cores and a quarter of memory to this card. Great card looks and performs awesome but isnt sky high jump in fps and performance like youd think so be prepared. In the end works and performs great just thought would have jumped from like average low on warzone at lets say 150ish on 2080 supersea hawk to 190 low which as said maybe i was just mistaken but was expecting like 250 to 300 on low side and alot higher whenin reality went from avg fps around 175 pretty steady to 240ish. So like said it wontbe night and day unless u coming from 10 series cards maybe will be crazy then. Is it worth it yes to me but i play alot and am still learning and tuning card specs. Just fyi its paired with a 5950x and 570 dark, 2 pumps, 2 360s and a 240 all running push/pull 26 fans in system just telling u i have very good cooling setup if ur card runs a little warmer, some reviews i read before buying listed temp as high as 80s so i just telling everyone it does take alot to cool these chips. Its worth it even at scapler prices this card is awesome even tho i doubt i ever run it under sub or ln2 just wanted best experience i could get while gaming/playful testing.

A great card for Mining or games, but it runs HOT.

Bought this card for mining purposes. The 3090 has no models with LHR production, so there was no chance of someone trying to pull a fast one with the LHR models that started shipping in June. It runs hot as hades when mining. The VRAM will easily surpass 105C if you OC it. I decided against OC for 12-15 higher hash rate. It runs stock 103-106. Ran up to 118ish OC'd. But it was like a runaway nuclear reaction with heat when pushed that hard and I stopped it before it got any hotter. Added water cooler and put a high RPM fan right on top of the VRAM and got it to run about 90-94 C on the VRAM. The actual GPU chip runs pretty cool, about 49C. Overall, it carries it's weight for sure and is worth the investment if you can get one around $2k. It is not worth $2500 or ... MoreBought this card for mining purposes. My next move is to add a second one, though I'll probably have to use a two sided waterblock to keep it from lighting on fire.

After seeing the initial reviews with power consumption and temps, I was worried that in my case (Lian Li Evo) that it would have temperature issues due to the lack of airflow (waiting for a water block to go water build). That isn't the case though. Temps are great on this thing, even when overclocked to 2.2GHz and the memory running 23.5Gbps. It rarely ever sees 70c while the fans are mostly silent. In addition to that, this is the best binned chip I've had in a long time. Without any curve tuning or power modding, this thing goes up to 2.2GHz, and settles around 2175mhz once heat soaked. The memory also overclocks very well, albeit slightly worse than what I'm seeing from other people with the same card. Also, on my model, the power consumption isn't as drastic as I've seen in reviews. I have a hard time getting this thing to hit its 450w stock power limit, let alone the increased power limit of 480w. Benefit of getting a good bin I guess. The price is higher than what I paid for the 3090, but in this segment I don't think many people care. The only real downside to this thing is its short life. With the 4000 series on the horizon this isn't a GPU worth buying if you only buy once every few years. Wait for next gen.

I live EVGA and I love EVGA. I am a decade long fanboy of EVGA. Every generation I buy the FTW3 since it came out or An Asus Card. I bought a 3090 FTW Ultra Gaming and warercooled it. After about a year of great gaming the card started to show signs of concern. The screen would go black mid game.. the monitor would turn of at times. That happened for about 2 months and I was not concerned at first but then it happened. All.of a sudden the card wouldn't post and the monitor would turn on and turn right off. My motherboard VGA light turned on and I tried the card in another working system and I still got the White VGA light...so upset at this point. The Newegg powers-that-be blessed me in the Shuffle, and I scored this card at a bit over the MSRP price. This is definitely an enthusiast-type card. It's this generation's "titan" class card imo. I don't think most people need this kind of power day to day. Even I don't for the most part. Most games will get similar performance on a 3080 or 3080ti. It's hard to say if I got a great value on this card when there's a gpu shortage going on, but I also purchased a higher-end AIB gpu. It would've been nice to see EVGA throw in an accessory like a gpu stand or a mounting bracket for the price. I don't want my gpu ripping the PCIe slot out of my mobo, and I know some other brands have included more extensive mounting accessories in their 3090 boxes. Poor memory backplate cooling. Minus one star for poor memory cooling under the backplate
15 October 2021

Liquid cooling is mainly aimed at the core, and it does a good job, with any overclocking the core temperature averages 45C. But the cooling of the memory is not very good. From the front, where the core is, heat from the memory is transferred through the plate to the adjacent water block of the core. It was possible to make the water block larger so that it also covers the memory. There is no water on the back of the card. And its not clear why they didnt make a sandwich. This is the same 3090 and the memory is on the back of the printed circuit board, and it heats up under 100C, and only a small metal plate removes heat. As a result, the cooling needs to be improved. The 3090 FTW3 in 2021 here at Adorama
22 September 2021

Looks great, works as intended. The only issue is that, 3090 is not worth it even at FE price($1500) if you intend to use it solely for gaming. In terms of performance comparison, the FE is pretty close to the FTW3, except the FTW3 is just a tad bit better when overclocked, and a bit smaller in size. That, I think, would put the MSRP of the FTW3 at around $1800 if I'm not mistaken. However, this particular model is priced at $1999 here at Adorama. Because prices are all over the place, I'm not sure whether $1999 was the intended price under normal circumstances. Because paying an extra $499 for about 5% better performance at best and 1% at worst is generally not worth it.Regardless, the price is still fair, considering the current circumstances, compared to ... MoreLooks great, works as intended. Does everything we wanted plus more! Retail for this is like 1800 We got it for less then what it was derived from, that being a standard 3090 from nvidia! So yeah, everything on it runs slightly better than standard 3090, not much better, but you are looking at lots of constraints on this top product. With a good cpu and you are looking at 100fps minimum at 1440 ultra wides. Max out settings of course. Even at 4k if the game is using DLSS you are getting 100 fps minimum too. I love this thing. I had the coin and my last build was in 2011, so it was definitely time for an update. I splurged and got a lot of top tier items to build something that will last more than four (4) years. I could have waited for the 40 Series, and I still might give this to my son and go bigger, but I wanted to have something so that I could run Win 11, and i needed something now. Color and graphics are on point. Ray tracing is cool, if that is your thing (I am not sold yet). I've tried only a few games and 4K movies so far, and I can say that I am not disappointed in the least. -If you are running Norton Security, they now offer you to mine Etherium while your Rig is idle. So that is also a plus. I mean it only like 10 cents an hour, but hey, it's money if you are not always on. The drawback is that it does use the GPU up to 98% so make sure you can cool it. -My specs for now: 12th Gen i9KF ( I didn't need the additional graphics with this thing).
