Exploding KITTENS: NSFW Edition

I am sure my friends and coworkers are tired of hearing about it, but I definitely think Exploding Kittens is one of the best strategic card games of all time. My brother, my husband, and I can sit around the table playing this for hours. And it gets… heated to say the least. We have gotten to the point where when a person wins, we spend time breaking down the different moves we could have made or shouldn’t have made. I always make a point to tell people about it when talking about board and card games. Are we nerds? Hell yes, but we are awesome strategizing nerds. (Our kids just think we are weird.)

A blast for adult game nights

Despite being hilariously designed, the cards should be kept out of sight of children obviously haha. A defuse card is included for each player, there are some pretty interesting cards included, but my favorite is the nope and see into the future cards. There are cards to shuffle, cards to take from other players, some extra defuse cards in the pile, and cards to skip. Finally, we have the attack cards, which are the most fun. By making opponents play twice, you risk them pulling one of the kittens that explode. We're competitive so it gets interesting. Definitely a fun game.

Fun to play

This exploding Kittens game is really fun! You can play with up to 10 people. This game is suitable to play with your kids, and adults, too! Even my six year old could play. It really isn't a complicated game so you can start playing in no time. There are many different cards and the goal is quite simple - be the last one to explode. The card design is also really cool and cute - sometimes the drawings include funny things. Also, whenever you open the box, music will play (the music sounds cool, too). It is light sensitive, so, if you open the box in a dark area, you won't hear the music. There are certain cards for 2 players, 4 players, etc. Overall, the game is really fun and well designed.

Fun, Fun! Fun Game!

Okay, this is a super fun game! The kids love it and (us) the parents love it too. Its easy to learn and follow along . My seven year old was able to play this game very easily, he even won the first game. But adults can indulge too. Its way more fun with multiple players since you see everyone go down. Its exciting and I definitely recommend if you were considering this buy. Also the art is hilarious. :D

Great Game for Families and Friends!

We love this game! It’s always changing, requires a little bit of strategy (and some luck) and is enjoyable for a wide variety of people. Every time with play this with friends, they end up buying the game as well. The party pack is a little more expensive but has more variety for play, especially with bigger groups. You can use the cards marked one way for groups of 4 or less, cards marked the other way for groups of 5-7 and all the cards for groups of 8-10. It was worth the extra money for this version, as we have used it with all the sizes of groups and really wanted to be able to use it with extended family. The smaller pack doesn’t work for larger groups, so in my opinion, this one is the way to go. Buy it now, play later and try not to EXPLODE!

Kid approved

My 8 and 10 year olds usually play this game at my in laws house with them. They have the regular version. Personally, I found the rules hard to follow. There were a couple cards that were not very specific of what to do and we couldn't find the exact instructions in the directions. Due to that, we did a lot of guessing. My kids both love this game though. They like to read all the card comments and think they are funny. I probably will not be playing again, but they can play with their friends.

Lot's of family fun

With 6 children, 4 who are close in age, they are constantly looking for an all inclusive, age appropriate game they can all play. The board games are well, boring. Now with the Exploding Kittens, we all have a good time. This is a fun card game that teaches them to think before they act - especially when they get the "explosion" card and are out of the game. This is really loads of fun, my husband and I have played it after the kids went to bed and we just laugh, it's really a cute game you need for your family time.

So fun!! But Are The Pictures for You?

This is such a fun game. I’ve heard it described as a Russian roulette style game and it is just that. You just never know when you might “explode”. There is laughter, there is suspense, and a lot of fun! We personally however, think some of the pictures on the cards are a little gross, and too much for our young kids. Every family is different and that’s great, they’re just not for our 5 and 7 year olds. They think some of them are nasty to look at, and honestly I can’t blame them haha, they are. Overall, we totally love the game and recommend it! Just know going into about the pictures and if it’s for your family/children or not!

So much fun for everyone!

I run an Exploding Kittens Tournament at Coulee Con in La Crosse, WI every year- people are absolutely obsessed with playing in them and we gift awesome Exploding Kittens merch to the winners each year. This year we had 24 people playing in the tournament on Saturday and 13 on Sunday! It has grown so much that we need judges now! We love this game!!!

We are a family of 5 with three grade school kids. This game is an absolute blast on our house. We really enjoy playing. Such a great bonding experience. We laugh so much while we are playing. Highly recommended. We not want to purchase more games from the same company because we love exploding kittens so much. Love that it hives Is the option to play with more people when we have friends over.
