I had a previous Fellowes shredder which worked well for five years or so until the switch failed. The switch of my latest purchase failed in six weeks. The reverse function worked, the shredding didn't, so not much help. The switch felt loose and it seems, or at least I wonder if there is a potential problem with them generally.A shame because when working it does the job well.

This shredder replaces one that I had for over 20 years until the motor burned out. This one does the job nicely and is much quieter than my old PCLine machine which sounded like a jet taking off at Heathrow. As a writer, I can't work without a shredder and this is a very compact machine which tucks away at the bottom of my stationery cupboard when not in use.

I bought this to shred a small number of papers. It overheats with anything more than two pieces of paper. It has finally stopped working after 2 months of minimal use! I have given it two stars because I am being sent a replacement - different model - fingers crossed

Needed to replace a deceased shredder & this one seemed to fit our needs.Compact style & ease of use is great. It has features that our old shredder lacked - such as a lock & a temperature indicator - it automatically cuts out if it becomes overheated. Coped with all documents for shredding effortlessly!I would highly recommend this shredder.As always the service offered by JL was fantastic - ordering & collection of the item was such a 'faff' free experience!
This is a small compact shredder, which is perfect for a small business user or for personal use. It is very easy to assemble, operate, and empty, with great features such as a warning light when it needs to be emptied.Am very pleased with this product and would highly recommend it.

I recently bought this shredder for our small office. It would probably be perfect for home use, but it overheats and stops after less than 5 minutes of use. We're putting through less than the specified limit of 6 sheets at a time, but it just cannot handle the work. Disappointed!
Bought this to replace a very old Fellows Shredder. That bin had seen better days.This LX25 lasted one day and not even a full bin. No jams, no overheat, single sheets only but just stopped working. Will run in reverse but nothing else.Returning to store this morning still with original packaging. My suggestion is to avoid this shredder model.
I purchased this in November but it broke two months later, so I returned it and ordered another. It was £20 dearer but the box was different so I thought it was an upgraded model. When I opened it the machine was exactly the same! I phoned the helpline but the partner was very unhelpful, bordering on rude. How this can be justified is beyond me.
I had a large bin bag full of old correspondence that I needed to shred.This shredder looks smart, is sturdy and works really well. It also has cross shredding so that none of the waste is legible.I went at it with an entire bin bag full, every time I filled it, it was easy to empty, there is also a safety feature so that you can't take the lid off when it is on and there is a lock switch so it can't turn on by accident.Because I was doing so much at once it overheated a couple of times but it notifies you of this with the red light and stops and you just wait until it cools and then it works fine again (I was doing an exceptionally large amount in one go so it was expected) it performed really well, it wouldn't do that if you kept on top of your shredding.
