Best downhill helmet

I've taken major hits with this helmet and I swear it's the best helmet around. It is significantly bigger and heavier than a lightweight full face enduro helmet (like the Stage for example), but well worth it for downhill riding. I was worried about the size and weight, but I honestly don't notice it while riding. The extra bulk/weight is well worth the extra protection compared to a lightweight full face enduro helmet. It's also by far the most comfortable helmet I've ever put on. Would not pedal in it though.

Excellent! But

Bought this helmet because of my son Having a concussion. Measured his head as a medium and he actually was a large. Had to sent it back and get a new one. The other thing you would expect for that price of a helmet they would send you change cushion inserts for the perfect fit. I did talk to customer service about a few things and they were absolutely fantastic. Would definitely buy again

Fox doesn't offer different cheek pad thicknesses for this Rampage. Apparently, Fox offers cheek pads for every other Rampage model EXCEPT their most expensive carbon Rampage helmet! How is that acceptable?! $600 helmet and no different size cheek pads? The Fox Airspace goggles do not fit this helmet either. Who designed this helmet, anyways?! If you wrap the goggle strap where it's supposed to go around the helmet, it pushes the goggles up and it doesn't make a good seal around your face. The only way it works is if you position it lower on the helmet but then it blocks the rear vents. There is also a gap between the helmet and the goggles in the center. Every review and even Fox says that this helmet runs small and if you're in between, go bigger. The Medium helmet is a size 57-58cm. I figure since I'm on the smaller side, I'll be fine with the medium. It is snug, but the main issue are the check pads. I removed them and tried the helmet and the fit is snug but not uncomfortable. The cheek pads are too thick and make the fit worst. Again, its a $600 dollar helmet and Fox cant even size it correctly?I'll be looking at the Fox Proframe to replace this one.

Good helmet. Bad customer support
3 November 2022

The helmet itself is very good, but after only a few rides with it I took a crash and the visor broke along with the screws that hold it on. I reached out to customer support and they responded with a link to all there helmet replacement visors. The only visors that are close to the rpc are for the old model that use magnets instead of screws so are not really compatible. For a helmet that retails for 500 dollars there should probably be replacement visors that are the right color let alone just one that attaches to the helmet

Great helmet
27 February 2024

Great helmet would recommend but if you are doing an enormous amount of climbing then it may not be for you. However I have used it for some light climbing and it has perfectly fine. If you are riding a lot of bike park and dh then it's perfect. It fits my head perfectly ( true to size, maybe go up 1/2). Plus it looks amazing.

Great helmet

Great Helmet however had to size up from medium to large despite my measurements stating that a medium was my size. You do not realise that you are wearing the Helmet when riding.Well worth paying more for a light weight Helmet for the comfort and added safety.

Protective and comfortable
6 August 2023

This helmet is double the weight of my previous full face helmet. I was worried it would feel too heavy on my head, but I can't even tell the difference. It's big. It's heavy. It's hot. But it's extremely protective and comfortable. I took a 6+ feet fall directly to my head on hard packed dirt and no concussion or even the slightest headache. And no visible damage to the helmet.

REALLY FOX $500 and no extra cheek pad????
14 May 2024

ill give it 2 stars but hear me out! this helmet is one of the best looking out there!SAFETY 5LOOKS 5Comfort 4BUT for the love of god!! $500 and not a different cheek pad size included? come on fox the profit margin is already big on this helmet just include the pads! size L fits me perfect except for the cheek! 40mm is too thick and its pushing my cheek too much! the 35mm should be dialed in!

SIZE UP
9 August 2024

If I knew better I would have gotten a large instead of a medium. I couldnt return it so I am stuck with it. Fits nothing like a medium proframe if you have ever tried that. It’s painfully tight to the point I feel light headed sometimes.

Size up or plan on spending more for different cheek pads..
7 May 2024

The helmet looks cool, I rather have it be shinny / semi gloss TBO since the matte clear coat make the CF look more like a cheap graphics then CF. I measured my head to be 23.5 so i purchased a large.. It fits great on the head minus the cheek pads.. The cheek pads push on my face so hard it makes it almost impossible to close my mouth without biting my cheeks.. I hate to imagine getting into a wreck.. 600$ is WAY to much for a helmet that does not come with extra / different sized cheek pads.. PLAN on spending up to 40$ PER for different sized check pads...
