The digital speed meter lasted 1 and a half days. The chuck would not grip properly any drill bigger than 3mm. So slow to drill when you can,t even leave your hand and arm hanging on the handle as the chuck slips. lastly the motor stopped after 2 weeks. Not fair that this is an ozito brand,it's not obvious until you read the book. would not have bought this if I knew it was ozito, the base on my 170MM circular saw is weak and bent is why. Lucky bunnings has a great returns policy?

Love the drill press as I require the full speed range especially the lower range under 500rpm only drill press that allows this range of speeds and setting them simple as pulling on a lever no belt swapping. Solid construction easy to assemble but heavy good instructions.Only draw back the rack and pinion crank to raise and lower the table real clunky and can be difficult to use sort that and it would be a 5 star machine.Purchsed over 12 months ago and it has become my most favorite tool.

I have assemnled this drill and found a couple of items that needs addressing. The worm drive that shifts the height of the bed was very cluncky as others have reported. I removed the worm gear and found a burr that looks like ut happened in the cnc process. I used a Dremel tool to restore the bevel on the flat spot of the gear. You could use a 1mm disc in an angle grinder to do the same. It has to be thin to get in the groove at the right angle for the bevel. The damage is only about 5mm long and hard to see unless in good light. A little bit of grease and a smear on the aluminium rack and it now glides up and down. With the paint scraped away and a small portion of grease it now swings either way very easily.A bit dissapointing the use of plastic handles to lock the bed and swivel. They may break. So be ready to make a metal equivalent. They may never break if not used and abused. Overall good features, plenty of power for a 16mm drill. Use loctite or similar on all grub screws and bolts.

It comes in parts, which must be assembled, but that is a simple task, and the manual is clear. The keyless chuck is a Sanou, which is a very good brand. And the chuck is attached to the head with an MT2 taper, so anything with an MT2, such as bits, can be used. Over all, it is a fine machine. But I give it four stars instead of five because the mechanism to raise and lower the table works perfectly when it is being raised, but goes in fits and starts for most of the distance when being lowered (it seems to be jumping teeth). I asked the support team about that, and what could be done about it, and the response was deafening silence. So no five stars for support, and no five stars for what may prove to be a fault in the mechanism. I am also very pleased with the service the Bunning branch gave me; the person who served me and went out of her way to move stock from another branch, deserves a giant bouquet
I love this drill press. While it worked. But after 1 year and 1 week, the speed dial stopped functioning, making the variable speed part almost useless unless you can expertly tell the speed from the sound alone.Bunnings has said it’s out of warranty. Apparently this drill is single use, and I’ll assume it’s almost impossible to find parts or schematics.
Loved the variable speed and how solid the machine is. I needed a strong drill press for the timber hole saw.The chuck and spindle assembly broke twice. It seems a design flaw. The keyless chuck kept jamming the arbor. I ended up using a strap wrench regularly. The spindle assembly disengaged at random. Solid one moment, falling out the next. In the end both chucked wobbled so much with large hole saws or longer drill bits that I could not use them. Spare parts or different spindles and chucks were not available.Bunnings staff were great, replacing the first machine and refunding the second.A shame about the chuck assembly as I liked everything else about this machine. Other machines with the same features are 3-4 times the price.
Thanks Paul. I too was baffled by the lock in emergency stop button. Never seen one like it. I ended up wiring it through a external switch rather taking it back to the nearest Bunnings 3 hours away. That now solved I am very impressed by this drill press. It replaces a Ryobi that was not nearly as good quality. The Full Boar is bigger than I really need but I could not resist the speed control that is such a luxury compared to having to change belts. This drill press may not be quite industrial standard but it is as close as you will get for this low price.
The Full Boar drill press is a beast. This thing drills through anything I have put it to (mostly aluminium & steel) without stalling like the weaker and much cheaper drill press I used for years. It is stable (solid) and accurate. It looks very much like the Bayer BDVS550 except the Full Boar has another 200W of drilling power and, at the time it was on special for $469, is cheaper. I am hard pressed (pardon the pun) to see much difference between this machine and drill presses that are up to three times the price (Garrick, Borum Hikoki etc..). It certainly is more than ample for any DIY work. The Sanou keyless chuck is of particularly good quality and has a robust feel about it. This is a Chinese made machine, which comes of no surprise, but it is of very good ... MoreThe Full Boar drill press is a beast. This is a Chinese made machine, which comes of no surprise, but it is of very good quality for the price. You have to assemble the press, and, unless you want a hernia, you need two people to lift it. (Yes, I did try to lift it myself, bad idea...). The rack and pinion lift system (for the drill table) is pretty clunky, and you may have to clear some of the teeth from post manufacture metal leftovers, but that would be my only complaint about the product. After assembly is it super important that you ensure the table is perpendicular to the chuck. I inserted a long drill bit and uses a small right angle square against the bit, to make sure it was 90 degrees to the drill table. The variable speed control is really handy, no more stuffing around with adjusting belts. The old adage "The poor man pays twice" is very true with this product. I uses a tiny Ryobi (see photo) for years because it was cheap but as you become more sophisticated with your p[projects you will realise that the weaker drill presses will hinder and frustrate you due to their propensity to stall when the going gets tough.Do yourself a favour. If you need a press, buy this one.
Assembly was relatively easy with useful instructions. The product appears solid and well built.Power was sufficient when using 80mm forstner bit. That impressed me.I was confused a little when the drill did not operate after i used the emergency button. Once i realised i needed to manually pull the emergency button back out it was fine. perhaps all emergency buttons work like that - I was not aware.Overall very satisfied.
I'd been looking around in lots of places, for a decent drill press for use at home.None of the places that I'd looked in seemed to have what I was after, until I saw this one.It looked pretty solidly built and it has a 750W motor.I bought it and had it delivered. It was easy to assemble, although the reason I have only given this 4 out of 5 stars, is because of the difficulty in raising and lowering the table, I will investigate this further. The safety guard bracket retainer was broken, meaning it could not be installed, however the drill still functions without it, I'm the sort of person that never fails to wear at least safety glasses when using rotating machinery.I gave the drill a run once I'd bolted it down to my bench and drilled a 19mm hole in a piece ... MoreI'd been looking around in lots of places, for a decent drill press for use at home.None of the places that I'd looked in seemed to have what I was after, until I saw this one.It looked pretty solidly built and it has a 750W motor.I bought it and had it delivered. It was easy to assemble, although the reason I have only given this 4 out of 5 stars, is because of the difficulty in raising and lowering the table, I will investigate this further. The safety guard bracket retainer was broken, meaning it could not be installed, however the drill still functions without it, I'm the sort of person that never fails to wear at least safety glasses when using rotating machinery.I gave the drill a run once I'd bolted it down to my bench and drilled a 19mm hole in a piece of stainless flat bar, the drill did not stall and seemed to have a lot more power than I had expected. The variable speed control lever is an exceptionally great addition, instead of having to mess about with changing the vee belt across pulleys to get the speed correct.I totally recommend this drill to anyone who needs a decent, well built drill press that can handle a bit of hard work without the usual issues you find with lesser quality drills.
