I really like G-Shock's designs, but they're most often far too large for my liking. I was about to finally pick up the G-2100 "Casioak" this Xmas, but then I saw this new design & immediately forgot the Casioak ever existed. The additional angles on the bezel look a bit like armor plating, but the smaller (for G-Shock) 46mm size still falls along the edge of tasteful watch size standards. And since the strap is integrated into the bezel, the watch wears much better than a 46mm should. As for features, this model has pretty much the same functions as most other G-Shocks: World Time, Stopwatch, Timer, Alarm, Bluetooth, etc., with the only really noticeably missing feature being Solar power. And the Light feature, like most G-Shocks, is really just adequate.Other than the small digital display, light function, and lack of Solar, I'd say this is an excellent entry-level G-Shock. It's packed with features, affordably priced, and it'll fit on just about anyone's wrist. I ultimately chose the matte black version, but I think this design will look great in whatever color you choose (or Casio chooses to make over time.)

I absolutely love it. This is my 2nd Gshock and am glad I waited and shopped around before deciding to buy this popular Style of watch. The Triple black looks amazing and the shape of the watch really catches your eye and people also commented on how well the watch looks.I love the layout as it tells your the Day on left and the analog time and the digital which is really handy at night plus the standard great features that Gshock offer. If Batman had a watch this would be it, I like how slim it is and still feels indestructible as about other gshock so you don't need to worry about damaging it.Some people say they find it hard to read the time but I personally don't have that issues and use the digital if I have to.Overall I could not be any happier, 10/10 for ... MoreI absolutely love it. Amazing watch, except that the hands can go out of alignment. I’ve tried the instructions from the manual to no avail. The minute hand doesn’t quite point in the right direction.Until this problem, it was the best watch I’d ever used. The yellow hands on the black background make it super easy to acquire the time, and I get a lot of compliments.

I like this watch very much, my first purchase of a new G-Shock, to add to my collection of mechanical watches of mainly Seikos, and an Omega. The set-up is relatively easy; just choose your local time, and city, and enter it. The hands will then move to the correct time, with the same time indicated on the digital display.Because this is a black-out watch, all input for date, etc., is best done in good light, as the display is quite hard to see, being very small, and the small LED light doesn't stay on for long, but is adjustable. I would have liked to have seen the four side buttons a little more bulky, as most G-Shocks are. I found them difficult to push without good finger nails! The watch wears very comfortably.I recommend this watch.
As someone who owns already owns a G-Shock DW5600 I thought my collection was complete, until I saw this watch. The style, colour options and dimensions drew me in but it was the price that sold me on it.An absolute steal at this price for a feature packed watch with this bold style. Only slightly bigger than the G-Shock square series and their thinnest yet.On the negative side is the difficult legibility on the all black model which is somewhat alleviated by the light and luminous hands. Luminous indices would have been a welcome addition. The only things holding this back from perfection are solar and/or atomic clock functionality. However, these features would likely increase the price and thickness so for what you are getting, you can't go wrong at this price ... MoreAs someone who owns already owns a G-Shock DW5600 I thought my collection was complete, until I saw this watch. I get the odd G-Shock for eveyrday when I am not going to put my main dress watch on. Also I was born in the 70's so all you millenials reading this... not only did you miss out on the dedaces that influence so much of what you wear today but we were there for the first rounds of the Casio. Were Michael Knight talking into our calculator watches, lost you already I guess ;) Back to google for you then. It has all the looks and feels then tuned up even more of what Casio do so well. The little details but done nicely. You get a hmmm from just looking at it and for under £100 that's job done. I prefer the 'stealth faces' and this one is perfection. My other is a Casio G-Shock 35th Anniversary DW-D5500BB-1 totally nailed it with that design too, so this using hands and ... MoreI get the odd G-Shock for eveyrday when I am not going to put my main dress watch on. My other is a Casio G-Shock 35th Anniversary DW-D5500BB-1 totally nailed it with that design too, so this using hands and a more upgraded face layout warranted the got to have this now factor kicking in immediately. The strap is slightly shorter than my other one which is proned to catching, but yu can work around that I'm sure. The only thing that's not as tidy with its execution is the backlight. When you engage the light the little digital screen is nice and bright, but the light also doubles up to light up the face of the watch. Well it doesn't. It's not at the rigth height and angle to do that and lights up your bedroom instead. It casts a shadow across the watch face but has not been thought through as to light the face up properly. They fell short with design capability there. The rest of the watch is detail perfect and I have no regrets buying it.
