Sure hope it’s better than the $425.00 (on sale) machine that even though it was factory defective; your company made me pay the return shipping charge of $73.00. Outrageous company behavior! Buyers beware! Rebecca A. Fitch

So far a great intro into espresso making. The unit is a reasonable size, easy to fill with water. Warms up fast.Couple downsides, first is the plastic tamper and nonstandard basket size. The tamper is unacceptable and already warped with just a month of use. It's not easy to replace due to the smaller basket size. Then the temperature is on the low side. For the money, however, it's hard to argue against it but if you can step up to the next level Gaggia (which I also have) it's definitely worth it

We have had this machine for 18 months and bought it to replace a seven year-old Gaggia Carrezza. It makes the same great coffee and froth as the Carezza, but is not as well designed. Using it: These are my initial impressions after making a few shots with this machine. I use an mdf grinder and tried only the non-pressurized basket. On the grinder, settings 4 and 5 are the only useful ones, going from slightly underextracted to slightly overextracted, depending on tamping as well. So it allows you to customize your shots pretty well, and the pump is powerful enough to keep up. After initially letting it heat up the recommended 6 minutes, everything works wonderfully, didn't notice any problems in terms of water flow or temperature stability. Lacking a valve, the puck has some water, but overall it detaches nicely from the portafilter.About the construction: The portafilter and brew group are hefty. Lacking a valve, the puck has some water, but overall it detaches nicely from the portafilter.About the construction: The portafilter and brew group are hefty. The casing is actually nice for being made out of plastic. The power cord is detachable, which I like, but the plug is somewhat flimsy (shouldn't be a problem really). The buttons are not luxurious, but I am not concerned about their durability either. The water tank seems to chip easily, I didn't notice hitting it but it got a ding. Also about the water tank, it doesn't seal, there's always a gap between its edge and the machine. It has two silicone tubes that draw water from the tank, so in case the tank breaks you could use a different container while waiting for a replacement. The drip tray is really small. The portafilter's spouts are made of plastic and can be unscrewed and replaced. The rubber pads that the machine sits on tend to stick to my kitchen counter, make sure you don't lose one.Rate your coffee expertise:Coffee LoverWhat do you like best about this product?Except for very specific extraction goals, for which it lacks controls for fine tuning, it makes as good coffee as I'd ever found in good coffee shops. There is some slight variability coming from my technique as well, but I am very satisfied. The very competitive price comes second.Do you have any helpful tips for using this product?Wait a few seconds before removing the portafilter after brewing to reduce the chances of splashes from remaining pressure.
I bought it for its ESE pod capability, which is good but the machine is lightweight and difficult to close the portafilter without putting a lot of effort into keeping the machine stable/still.The milk frother is totally over-the-top. You end up with a jug of mostly froth. Cofeeteca rep suggested I could remove the plastic fittings from the panarello. I did this and am now able to steam/froth milk to my liking, so finally happy except for the lightweight aspect but at this price I don't thinkI can complain.
The Gaggia espresso performs well albeit the plastic tip on the paranello is great if you enjoy your milk as a froth. Disappointing however works well without as I now prefer. Would prefer a non plastic portafilla but for the price the machine performs well.Bonus Coffee, still experimenting with beans to extract their full flavour and would consider 4 stars for the overall quality.
This is my first espresso machine so no reference point for this one. The Evolution has a plastic housing but a metal frame. All the other specs are in product description. It is easy to set up and to brew.I used beans I roasted and ground them to an espresso grind. One concern about the machine is the filter holder is difficult to lock in. It takes a lot of effort to make the final lock in and the machine flexes a little when doing so. I wonder if this will affect the longevity of the machine.I brewed with the pressurized basket as well as the non-pressurized basket. While the pressurized basket produced more crema, the resulting americano was good but not great. Honestly no better than an Aeropress americano. With the non-pressurized basket, less crema but the resulting americano was bolder with a bit more viscosity (terminology?) and was more like a coffee shop americano. I haven’t made a cappuccino, yet.Overall, I am pleased with the Evolution and consider it a worthwhile purchase for a beginner.
Bought to replace our much loved 15 year old Ascaso Basic machine which stopped working. Very pleased with this machine. Makes great coffee every time. Easy to operate and is very compact.
Watched all the youtube hype about this low cost machine with high end features but it just a toy. Plastic and embarrassed to have it in my kitchen after years with my solid Isomac Guiada machine. Have sold it on
Gaggia was my first machine. I’ve since graduated to a Salvatore. This purchase was a gift to a friend beginning his espresso/cappuccino journey. He loves it!
