This replaces a home made reel which I'd made out of an old reel which had fallen apart. So not a high bar to exceed. . I just wish I hadn't put up with the old ones for so long. The Gardena is so easy to wind in, to move around, and it will handle ALL my hoses on a single reel.. Joiners are so handy !! So well worth the money.

Need to keep the base secure while rolling out/in but it’s a good product and convenient to move about the garden. Packs away nice and tidy when not in use

Please note you will need to purchase hose x2. Ie. a 30m hose and connectors that go on reel and a short hose plus connectors that connect your tap to the unit.I would recommend this unit.It can topple and wind up unevenly so doing this you need to guide the hose which is a little awkward. I presume this is the same for all similar items.

Don’t but this, the theory of metal bits is good, but the plastic doesn’t last. Mine lasted less that a year, the wheel broke and it is made so it can’t be disassembled. The plastic wheel around the axel is far to thin and weak to stand up to the weight of a long hose and the weight of the water. Over priced junk really.

After trying some other hose reels, this one stands out as the best. It is perfectly compatible with Pope hoses and fittings, which is a bonus. It has an elegant, practical design and can hold a long hose. Easy to wind up without kinking and because of the sturdiness of the design, it is is possible to pull the hose out around corners and down steps. Suits me perfectly!
Love the kick out feature which stabilises the trolley when reeling in or out. Solidly made steel reel, handles fold in. Great product
