You can only programme it for days of the week, not odd or even days. In Hamilton we have summer water restrictions that only permit watering on odd or even days of the month depending on your house number. So either we will have to reprogramme the days every six days, or operate on the wrong days every second week. We initially bought the Gardena Flex because the specs say you can have up to 6 programmes a day and intervals of up to 72 hours. We thought we could programme odd and even days like that, using a 48 hour interval, but it doesn't work like that. So we replaced it with a Select, which still doesn't do odd and even days even though the Bunnings website states it does.

I just brought this today and it was extremely easy to setup and program a weeks watering. It also has the option to just press a button and put in any length of time to water. This is great for when you are home but don't want to worry about when to turn it off.

On the shelf it looked ok. However the controls/syntax are not so user friendly. A lack of clear instructions, I found, was a hindrance to operation also. The worst thing about this is that it is designed to only attach to and be suspended from a tap/faucet. For me the ideal situation would be to attach it to a wall. Not possible, unfortunately. There's not a screw recess or mounting point anywhere on the device. I tried industrial double sided tape and velcro - they would not hold it. Weeks after purchase it sits on my desk still.

The only problem is the valve is very restrictive. I am on a low pressure water supply and when using the timer, the pressure drops so much the lawn sprinklers won't rotate. Disappointed as it says it works with 0.5bar pressure.
I went back to a Gardena unit after my previous cheapie died in under a year. This one is easy to install & program, made in Germany, and has far less water hammer than my last one. Among other things it allows you to run a program on certain days of the week, which makes it handy for the watering restrictions in WA (note that the similar but slightly cheaper Gardena unit does not have this feature. It is hit & miss with some other brands too).
Simplified controls. Very very hard to read the screen due to interference from the character forming electronics underneath. My wife and I found it almost impossible, and couldn't be certain we were setting the correct programme.
I had mixed products but now have everything Gardena. Its a good reliable product, easy to use. This was my second timer as i was impressed with the first how easy it was to programme. Basically set & forget.
it has one exit, therefore you can program 3 different water types f.e. for Sommer, Winter and Spring season ... and you can activate one and the other desactÃvate. Or you have a second water automatic system, which you can activate with 3 programs in different rain secions ... We use it only for once a week. Most of the time we prefer the Gardena duplex ... however this is good and a long working Artikel ....
I was extremely excited but so far it’s been very difficult not to let it pop off all the time. I’ve tried many things but so far not much luck :-(
Does what it says on the box and very easy to set up. Has made a big difference to the tunnel houses and our vegetables. This is the second one we have used because the last one got frosted, so keep it covered or just disconnect over the winter.
