This is what I am looking for in a fitness tracker. It comfortable, I can swim with it, it tracks my sleep, I can read it in the sunlight. If it detects me walking for 5 minutes it automatically turns on the activity mode. You can buy separate colored bands. The only thing it does not have is a pulse sensor. It's very easy to upload my data into Garmin Connect software on my phone. The soft ware will collate your data and give you readouts and charts for the past weeks or months. It's easy to join challenges and your activity stats transfer to the challenge you are participating in. I love this band.

I love the Vivofits... I had a Vivofit 2, 3 and now 4. My first Vivofit I had for 2 years and loved it, but I got a new phone and couldn't sync it- at the same time a teen-aged friend of ours was starting a fitness journey so I gave it to her and she loved it. I got a 3 to replace it, and it worked great! Never ever did I have any issues with it... but I did buy a 3rd party band for it, and after a year the band had stretched out a bit and the vivofit 3 device fell out and was lost. I was so sad! Decided since I had to buy a new one to go ahead and try the Vivofit 4. I really like it too... here's why- like all in the Vivofit family, I don't have to charge it and I can wear it 24/7 without worrying. It's comfy and it reliably counts my steps and sleep. It can find my phone too... that's a new feature on the 4. While it does not do some of the 'fancy' features like notifications, I always have my phone nearby for that anyway. It syncs to the Garmin app to track health data but also with MyFitnessPal for my calories. I do also have a Samsung GearFIt 2 and I do like that also- it's a handy tool for me but I admit, many times I have it on the charger and forget to put it back on... and I've also been known to wear it and forget to take it off to charge... I wear the Vivofit 4 24/7 and the Samsung most days (when I remember to put it on). The Vivofit 4 I find to be more of a motivator since it's only job is to track steps and calories, as well as being a handy always-on watch. I will say, the display is small and hard to see depending on the light it's in, but it has a backlight (some reviews say there is no backlight but yes, there IS a backlight). Just push the button to 'light it up'. I really enjoy using the Vivofit 4 and will always want one as I don't have to worry about charging it or even wearing it to the beach or while cleaning. It's not 'fancy' like a smartwatch, but it's a fitness tracker pure and simple, easy to use. Hope this review was helpful!

Pros: Watch looks nice and fits well, the app looks good.Cons: We could not add the app onto our sons mobile phone as it was not compatible so have had to add the app to my phone. His phone is only 2 years old. The watch needs to be manually synced with the phone daily to carry the info across to the app. It takes a couple of goes to get it to sync and generally have to take the watch off to do so. I expected more from Garmin to be honest. I have another brand of watch and find it more user friendly, I wish I had spent a little more money to get him the other brand of watch.

I had to get rid of my Fitbit because they no longer offered the option of syncing with a computer instead of a smart phone. I liked the idea of the Garmin, mostly because there was no charging required. Now that I have it, I am sold. There are more options than the Fitbit had and I am happy with it. I don't care about a heart rate monitor or any of the other bells and whistles...I just wanted something to track steps and this seems to do that just fine.
After reading great reviews of Garmin trackers and friend recommendations, we decided to buy two of these as presents for our boys (8 and 10yo) as school year-end gifts They were so excited, but unfortunately when they unboxed them this morning, one didn't turn on! I suspect we received a refurbished or demo one, because the box didn't have the cardboard protective insert like the other one had. My son was so so sad especially as his brother was able to start using his.... We called the Source - customer service was friendly, but they couldn't offer any replacement because the vivofit 4 is sold out online and in-stores. The only option was to return it to a store for money back. We didn't want to do that since we'd be short a present! We called the Source - customer service was friendly, but they couldn't offer any replacement because the vivofit 4 is sold out online and in-stores. The only option was to return it to a store for money back. We didn't want to do that since we'd be short a present! So my husband thought to try the batteries from the working garmin into the dead one to see if it just needs new batteries. But then, when we opened up the backs, the 'working' vivofit, had leaky batteries; and the 'dead' vivofit has bulgy batteries! That was a shocker! We didn't want to disappoint the boys further, so we went and bought new batteries for both activity trackers and have connected them to the Garmin Apps. We were right about the 'used' one. It had been previously paired to someone else - we had to do a factory reset to pair it with our own device. For now, the boys are happy to have these 'new' trackers (it's not cool to give a present then take it back), but this had been a terrible experience with both purchasing from the Source and the product - I'm so disappointed we received a demo/used product. With respect to the garmin trackers, I'm not sure if these would last; one could be used/defective and the other maybe damaged by the battery leak...
I have owned various models of the vivofit tracker. It is a very good product with a long lasting battery. The only drawback that I see personally with the vivofit 4 is the metal buckle. I have accidentally got the band caught on something in the past and with a buckle band there is no give and it did cause bruising on my hand and wrist. The vivofit 3 with the plastic latch if caught on something would just detach and fall off. Basically a personal preference in regards to the strap type.
Love my Garmin fitness tracker. Did so much research to find out that takes a normal battery as I would never remember to charge & if I did I would never remember to put back on again. Turns out there are not many at all that don’t require regular charging. With a standard watch battery this should last me between 7 mths to a year apparently? So good to be able to see how many steps I’m getting in each day as being female I don’t have my phone on me most of the time, and especially at work. I now also have the date & time with me without the need to check my phone. Highly recommend… so far so great!!
This item does somethings really well and others not so well. Cool features are that it doesn’t require charging, it’s apparently waterproof (but I haven’t tested that theory) it can call your phone from your watch if you’ve lost it. Things that it doesn’t do so well is that it doesn’t measure heart rate so the calorie tracker is less accurate and that you have to manually sync it up to the app which can be a bit clunky and difficult to do at times. The strap is quite comfortable and easily washable as it does seem to gather swear pretty well. I have that issue with all fitness trackers. It’s not bad for step counts but if you need more information I wouldn’t recommend it that highly
I bought the Vivofit 4 as a replacement for my Vivofit 2 (after nearly 7 happy years, the button began to act oddly, we've put it aside as a spare before it completely fails). I'm trying to increase my daily activity levels in a sustainable way, but I'm in no sense an athlete. But what I really like about Vivofit 4 is - * I was able to continue with the same Connect app, and kept all my historical data automatically (after re-sync a couple times). * I wear it 24/7 as my watch (like my V2) and the display is clear and easy to read at a glance. * I don't have to remember to remove it, or put it back on. Waterproof in sink, bath and shower (and probably swimming pool). * I don't have to remember to charge it. The V2 battery lasted 2 years rather than the claimed 1yr, so this will probably do the same. * I like the choice of displays, easily visible, and having chosen will probably stick with the one I like. * New function of tracking "impact activity minutes per week" is fun, though I probably don't make use of the data much. It probably helps motivate you to get moving, if you don't normally move much. * My custom setup of stride length seems to be accurate, it measures over a couple miles with the same result as my Runkeeper GPS tracker (within 0.04). * Better connectivity with the My Fitness Pal app than my V2 had. * Replacement wrist bands readily available online, if it breaks or I want a change of colour. The only minor drawback, to me, is I would have liked it to be able to pair with the HR strap. To be fair, I hardly ever actually used that facility, and I can always recommission my Vivofit 2 if I felt I wanted the HR aspect for a particular period or activity.
If your fitness tracking needs are on the simpler end of the scale, then this is exactly the item for you. I certainly don't want to bother with any device that requires charging every day or week and this little beauty gives 12 months before replacing the two SR43 batteries. It's inexpensive, slim, lightweight and unobtrusive. Works beautifully and setup was an absolute breeze. Syncing is also painless. Highly recommended!
