Well I wanted to love this dash cam that I have only had for 2 days and I can’t . Moving footage from the device to a laptop is near impossible as it uses your phone and you need constant wifi connection . Example if you drive 45 minutes to work and record for 45 minutes it take 3 hours to export the video then 2 hours to upload to the Garmin vault . It’s beyond terrible !!!! And if you plug it into the PC and try to copy the video directly to your laptop you can do this but don’t count on your video being in 1 file cause my 45 minute drive had 29 different files and extensions and it made all these smaller videos . What if you were a long haul trucker on a 6 hour trip? It’s about pointless and the connectivity with the app is terrible , it consistently looses ... MoreWell I wanted to love this dash cam that I have only had for 2 days and I can’t . Great Little Camera
10 July 2023

I have had this for a few weeks and it’s a great little camera. Small and unobtrusive to your view and has a gray field of view. The lane assist, crash alerts and traffic moving work well, but in hind sight I may have gone with the 57. They were so close in price and features, but the wider viewing angle was appealing to me. Picture/video quality is great, even in low light. Hands free works great, no issues at all. We have caught quite a few “almost moments” towing our camper and even some cool pictures on our drive with the “Ok Garmin” commands. With the craziness on the roads, this is a good investment. Techno RV, what can you say about them. Great prices, fast shipping and as always great support.Don’t put it off, grab one of these from Techno RV, you won’t ... MoreI have had this for a few weeks and it’s a great little camera. Hardware works. Software is horrible. Stay away.

The hardware is fine. It is compact, it is reliable. Offloading video by swapping the sdcard and you are ok, it will function. It is not competitive in resolution, aim for 4k alternative instead. The worst part, the phone app is completely unstable garbage when working with video. Wifi exporting fails, it is painfully slow, will not regularly load unsaved/temporary footage. Editing video is a horrible experience.Garmin doesn't care about this product and should sell the rights to a vendor that will actually support it. This product is not competitive with what is, and what will be on the market. I cannot believe this is the same company that makes state of the art aircraft glass panels.

Time will tell if this unit can withstand the extreme heat environment of Southern California but in the interim, the unit does have many significant features to add to its usefulness. Having multiple units for front/rear/interior recording would be needed to cover all possible surveillance needs, otherwise 360 degree recording (Insta360 like) from a single unit with extremely HD video (utilizing image morphing to view remapped to rectangular image sections) makes for an even better design.

I will start the review with kinda of a Garmin review in general, I have had many GPS units, dash cams etc over the years and I have kinda stuck with garmin because I know their interface. I bought the 66w dash cam in january of 2020, recently I noticed it was not giving me alerts like the collision or lane departure, then I realized my coordinates and speed were missing from my saved videos. Found out my GPS chip was not working, no bars indicating it had signal, of course it’s not covered anymore, called Garmin and I could replace the unit for a refurbed 66w for $120…..I thought why? The 66w was plagued with connectivity issues through WiFi, bluetooth etc so I figured well if I buy a new dash cam from someone else its a new mount, new account, new interface blah ... MoreI will start the review with kinda of a Garmin review in general, I have had many GPS units, dash cams etc over the years and I have kinda stuck with garmin because I know their interface. So I decided to go with the 67w, stupid, yea…..seems to work fine but the connectivity issues still persist, I honestly think this is an app issue but really whatever it is it still sucks!! I do like the remote viewing feature if it doesnt have problems. I like how small these units are and they seem to be built great its just the dang connectivity issues that kills a 5 star review. Hopefully the hardware doesn’t poo on me with this one and I can deal with the other issues just because I’m used to it. If you have made it this far in my review I would say if you are new to dash cams look somewhere else, you will be frustrated, if you are a previous Garmin cam user and are use to the issues, they are not fixed so if you want to try another cam I would I just didn’t feel like migrating.

I was looking for a simple to set up dash cam that could provide decent picture quality for a fair price. There are many dash cams out there that cost way less and those that are way more. So, after much research, I figured the 67W would be the right fit as it looked to be a balance between the lower/upper range.1. Pros - small size and easy to set up. Hides nicely behind the rear view mirror. Connected to my iPhone without any hassle - this was important to me because many cameras out there evidently have problems connecting to phones because the software is a half-baked. The camera operated as expected. Can attach via a suction cup mount purchased separately (my preference for portability between cars). Can take 256g cards. The camera operated as expected. Can attach via a suction cup mount purchased separately (my preference for portability between cars). Can take 256g cards. Easy menus to navigate so you can literally take it from the box and attach to your car have it running in less than 10 minutes. SD card included! Connect to the power via mini-USB/USB A connection instead of a huge cigarette lighter adapter - much neater as I didn't want to hardwire my camera. Solidly built unit - no issues with build quality. Innovative magnetic mount. Voice commands worked flawlessly.2. Cons - picture quality. Tried every resolution possible and even tried different combinations of "EV" - a setting to let in more or less light into the lens. No matter what i tried, the videos came out grainy. I tested this camera on some cloudless beautiful days and while the street signs are fine, license plates are not legible unless you were sitting at a red light about 5 -8 feet from the car in front of you. Cars in motion, you can forget about it - it'll just be a blur. Night time videos are as expected - abysmal. But just about every camera has issues with night time videos. Also, the 180 degree view is not for everyone. I didn't hate it but I did not like it either. Garmin was trying to get more field of view in to cover a bit more beyond the left and right fenders of the car. To me, the was a bit much distortion as had that fish-eye look that can be annoying. If I had buy a Garmin again, I would buy the 57 with its 140 degree lens over the 67W. I believe the 57 has the same feature set but with a lower angle lens.I wanted to like this. It checked every box with respect to set up, size, software and operation. But at the end, I could not deal with the poor video quality. I guess with it's size, there's only so much video capabilities that can be crammed into the 67W. Now, if this was a sub-$200 camera (say $175ish), then yes it would be a good choice but at this price point, I cannot recommend the 67W.

Wide angle dash cam
21 July 2023

I had originally purchased a Garmin 57 but it had bad batteries and would not charge so wound up getting the 67W instead. At least the battery in this one charges up and does not overheat. This is a very wide angle so good for capturing traffic flow. It might not be able to make out license plate numbers but you could easily identify the vehicle type. I put in a large memory card so am good for 3 hours of recording. Each video file is 1 minute long so lots of files to download if you need them. Great with the built in GPS to show location and your vehicle speed to prove you are within the posted limits should you get stopped by law enforcement. Got mine on sale but it is still expensive.
