Fantastic handheld MultiTool:Includes obviously the needle nose pliers with wire cutters, serrated & regular knife blade, saw blade, Phillips & 2 sized flat screw drivers, scissors, can & bottle opener, a lanyard tab, and carrying case for your belt. Good fit for my 'regular sized' hands, beautiful fit & finish. Nice locking feature to keep the tool open when doing work.Gerber made improvements on the basic concept to make a refined well made camping, shop, all around useful tool. Great for the glove compartment or every day carry.Kudos.

This little gerber is a nice compact size, with a durable case. The case has a "slick" lining which makes it easier to retrieve the tool than my other leather (when new) or synthetic cases. The case also comes with loops to hold it on your beLt in a horizontal or upright position. The tool itself is nicely constructed and well thought out. It springs open when in the plier/wire cutter mode. The needle nose plier is narrow enough for electrical work like curling wire for mounting outlights and light fixtures. The cutters work fine on 14 &12 ga. Copper wire. For Automotive wire work on radio harnesses it would be nicer to have the cutter on the tip, but that would negate the usefulness of the needle-nose for all the other fine work you can do with it. The knife blade ... MoreThis little gerber is a nice compact size, with a durable case. The knife blade has a thumb release to open easily and quickly. Its a flat sharp blade with a razor like blade bevel and seems to be great for exact cutting on flat surfaces. It cuts best against a hard surface, unlike a cutved blade for cutting rope and gutting animals. The saw blade, works well for wood, and uses the "shark-tooth" style cutting teeth allowing cutting when you push and pull the blade across the wood. It cuts smooth and is a fine tooth design for doing fine quality work, its not super aggressive. Both the saw, and knife bladed lock into place securely preventing accidents. The opposite handle has a locking serrated knife blade that cuts meat, vinyl, and foam board very easily. The scissors, are sharp and appear to be for paper or thread. Very sharp and fine! They are not as readily available as the other accessory and have to be opened all the way and flipped around to be ready to use. The screw driver (2 flat, 1 phillips) work well. And although i haven't tried the can opener yet, it looks like it'll do the job well. All in all I'm really pleased with this tool

This Gerber multitool is very good in my opinion. Upon first impression, I find a well polished, well designed tool that is easy to use. There is zero slack and the bending resistance is just perfect, not too tight or too loose. The carry pouch (holster) is made of soft fiber which I wish was made of tough leather, but is no big deal. Upon starting to use the tool, the first thing I notice from a review standpoint, is that this tool is inherently meant to be used by a person that has good use of both hands. Any person with limited use of either hand might encounter difficulty, and a person that is missing a hand altogether will very likely find this tool nearly impossible to use without the help of another person. However, in my case I am blessed enough to have full ... MoreThis Gerber multitool is very good in my opinion. Upon first impression, I find a well polished, well designed tool that is easy to use. However, in my case I am blessed enough to have full use of both hands and my experience has be excellent with this tool. Now, moving on to the individual folding sub-tools, this multitool has a lot to offer, but in my opinion these are meant to be relied upon as a secondary means tool when a traditional tool is not available, such as when camping, hiking, boating, or any other mobile activity away from you main tool box. I say this because the tiny tools found in this Gerber multitool are small and simple, and made to fold into a tiny space. The only normal sized sub-tool in this multitool is the plier, which is spring loaded and has a round, serrated indentation. This multitool includes two knives, a saw, a scissor, a “phillips type” screw driver, a bottle opener, a yarn hole, a flat screw driver, and another “pick type” tool that I don’t know what it is for. One of the knives is similar to a fish slicing knife, but under no circumstance should anyone expect to cut fish or any meat with this knife as debris and grease stuck to the knives will soil the entire multitool once folded away except, perhaps, in an emergency. The yarn hole is just for hanging, should you not want to use the holster. You must use your fingernails to open most of the tools so you should be aware of that. Given this fact that you need to use your fingernails, I would not buy this tool for constant everyday use, unless your fingernails can handle it.I have been taking it to work in the holster on my belt just to se if it is comfortable. Indeed, I easily forgot it is there.Overall, a fantastic product.

How many times have you been caught without the tool you need while noticing a needed repair around the home, or even away while traveling? No need to experience that again with the Gerber Suspension Multi-tool. A total of 12 tools comprise this product constructed of high quality, titanium coated stainless steel. Perhaps my product had it inadvertently omitted, but I believe an insert providing usage, maintenance and lubrication FAQs would have been of benefit, especially since it may negate the need of accessing the limited lifetime warranty. Nevertheless, this multi-tool is a keeper.
This review is for the Gerber Suspension Multi-Tool. I have been seeing people using these tools for a while and had drawn the conclusion that they were not reliable. I was sure wrong about that. Lets start with the looks. Once you take the Multi – plier from he sheath and begin unfolding it you will notice the patterns cut into the handles with a modern look. The cutouts are more than aesthetics. The tool is a little lighter without weakening the tool in any way that I can tell plus the cutouts look cool as well. This multi – plier tool has 12 tools all folded up into one device. The screwdrivers, bottle opener, needle nose pliers and wire cutter I expected to work fine but doubtful about the scissors and saw. Once again I must say I was impressed with the ... Once again I must say I was impressed with the functionality of the tool and all those folded inside. You can't cut down a huge tree but you can build a shelter. The scissors would not do for a seamstress but they were not meant to be however they could help you out of a bind. There is a sheath that comes along with this tool making it handy to carry on your belt and the tool is within reach. The size, shape, looks and color are all spot on. I highly recommend this Multi – plier tool from Gerber.
Anxiously have been waiting for my multi-tool to arrive. I’ve carried and used another brand of multi-tool and really liked it. Having used and enjoyed Gerber knives as everyday carry knives and having found them to be quality I was expecting the same here. However.....This seems to be. Good quality tool but has some serious flaws. With the exception of the needle nose pliers, the rest of the “tools” are useless as you have to use a screwdriver to extract them from the handles. Both of the outside tools have a flip lever that sticks out and with persuasion you can get these tools out, but the temainder have a notch in the top (not, not in the side, but in the top) that is supposed to facilitate the tools extraction from the handle. However all I was able to do was tear the nail on both my thumb and forefinger trying to budge them. Their is a release of the suspension system on the end of each handle, however it is poorly made and too small for ease of use. Needless to say, my anxiously waiting to receive this item was quickly dashed. Sorry GERBER, I just expected more.
I've had one before but I lost it in the woods, tried some Leathermans but found them flimsy. This is a perfect multitool, Simple, not a billion tools you'll never use, just the right ones. Everything accesible without opening the plier. The tools are precise, no wobble, scissors cut fine paper, saw chews trough small branches, plier shuts tight, and the locks hold the tools in place when folded out. It's well built, maybe a bit heavy but the solid feel is comforting. Some improvement points exist though. The knife is sharp, but the design of the blade isn't perfect for carving. The teeth of the saw gets a bit clogged sometimes, but it works anyways. the serrated knife I've never understood what to use for. Some tools are a bit hard to open, the big tools on the ... Some tools are a bit hard to open, the big tools on the sides that you use often have tabs that make them easier to open but the ones in the middle only got small slits, with gloves you can't get these out. Bottomline: If you want a simple, sturdy and good value tool, buy this. If your spec sheet is a bit more demanding this might not be for you (but might be a good backup anyway). PS I think the Bear Grylls tool from Gerber is this model with a brand, I can't stand him so i like this more, also, less plastic casing on this, just stainless steel.
I tried out the Gerber Suspension Multi-Tool today. The tool is solid and well made. It was nice to be able to access all of the tools without unfolding the pliers. The thumb flips were a nice touch for quick access to the knives but were a bit small for my large hands. Blade locks were solid and easy to work. The straight, serrated, and saw blades were extremely sharp and cut well. The two flat head and Philips head screw drivers worked well also. I really like the feature with the spring keeping the pliers jaws open. I did have issues with the spring on the scissors not staying in place and rendered the scissors useless. I had no choice but to modify the spring myself to get it to work properly. The nylon pouch was cheap and the tiny amount of Velcro holding the ... I bought my Suspension last year in the US. I have used it almost daily and have had few issues. It came with a cheap sheath that fell apart in three months, but Gerber replaced it free of charge with a sturdy sheath that is holding up well. The knife blades are razor sharp and retain their edge. The scissors have turned out to be surprisingly useful. The pliers and screwdrivers have stood up to everything I've needed them for. Have never used the bottle/can opener, or the silly little lanyard hole that I wish had been replaced with something useful. The saw has short dull teeth and is basically useless -- the one on my Victorinox Swiss Army knife is far better. Overall, though, I'm pleased with the tool.
